Had another pre-cruise meet today. This time with Grandma Lightbulb (Mary) and her DH Butch. They are both so sweet and Karen - not to worry Butch was not wearing a dress.


I hope Grandma doesn't call and say she wants out of the cruise because she's afraid I'm going to try and sell her something. We did some shopping together and had a great time even if I couldn't get her to buy herself the golden mickey antenna topper.

YIPPIE!! Glad she made it, and presumably, was feeling well enough to visit and shop!!

SO Glad Butch wasn't wearing his dress. I hope you mentioned your concern that he might be!!

Golden Mickey antenna topper, huh? I wonder if they have an antenna....They have a new Toyota and I know mine doesn't have an antenna and Mike's retracts (imagine turning off your radio and watching your antenna topper fly off!!)

I'm trying to come up with some system for hanging my multiple Mickey antenna toppers INSIDE my car where they are safe!

I'm sure Ebay doesn't mind - If people wouldn't bid then there wouldn't be a market for the oddities auctions - I've only heard of them pulling auctions if it's in poor taste - other than that - they get their money if the auction closes regardless of the item..

There are some guidelines....you can't sell firearms, women can't sell their eggs, you can't sell your kidney...that kinda stuff.

I found an auction recently for human crap. Seriously. Someone was selling their poop. I turned them in b/c "human waste" is listed as a prohibited item and I got an email back from ebay saying they checked into it and it didn't fall into the "prohibited items" category.

Funny thing is, I found it b/c I was searching for things I have in my house that I'd be willing to list and I typed in "crap" figuring I have a lot of that in my house!

That might work! Alicia LOVES antenna toppers, and is always showing us the new ones. Neither of us have antennas. So, when she gets a car, she can do this.

When I DID Have an antenna I didn't put my really cute ones on b/c I was paranoid someone would steal them!

When Alicia figures out her system, have her email me. I probably won't have it figured out yet!

Karen- she's looking great and they are looking forward to the cruise! She even helped me scope out a place for us DIS'ers to meet for the Bon Voyage party the night before (the Member Cruise).


As for antenna toppers. We don't have antennas on our cars (they are in the glass. So Mark bought some fake cell phone antenna's from a Pep Boys and put them in the back windows. We use those for the toppers which keep them in great shape and away from hands that might steal them.

We had a lot of time to talk and I think she was glad to have someone to discuss things with. Hope I helped! She is such a sweet sweet woman.

And you can't sell repros of anything on the VERO list. Because those people watch the auctions like a hawk, and will turn you in. For instance, fake purses, Dooneys, Coach, LV. I just quit buying the big name purses at estate sales because I'm never sure if they're fake or real!

We took one group shot of the three of us. Not the best picture as it is partial sun/partial shade. No way to upload as Mark forgot the card reader so it will wait until we get home (most likely Sunday since we won't be home for long on Saturday).

Actually, I don't know what it stands for. It just means that they went through some process (probably paid money) to be "authorized dealers" on Ebay.

I STILL don't like scary movies, commercials or trailers. I hide my eyes & close my ears whenever commercials for scary movies come on TV.

Lisa and I are there with you. We hate scary movies. She "accidently" saw one at a birthday party years ago that still gives her nightmares. (It was a haunted house where the furniture becomes alive - great for a kid who has to sleep in her own bedroom by herself at night - no sisters)

Me too - I stay away from the gorey slasher movie types...Even the "mind thriller types" Tried watching Sixth Sense on DVD and was so freaked out - I didn't last a 1/2 hr...Can't bring myself to get Silence of the Lambs either...

I can read them. Read Amityville Horror in my preteens and stayed up all night to finish - no problem there...Won't even think about watching the movie - something about actually seeing it on the screen - no thanks!

That's so true. I can read a thriller or a book with violence, but I can't watch it on TV or a Movie. The visual is just too much for me. But, I do love intrigue books.
