Woo hoo! Off to Michaels, Hobby Lobby and Cord Camera.....

woo hoo....hee hee...ha ha...ho ho! :faint: :scared: :upsidedow :scared1:  :hyper: :bitelip: (the DIS does not offer a smilie in a straight jacket, so this collection will have to do!)

Is the camp suppling funding for this project? It sounds like it could get VERY expensive. But, good for you Karen helping to make this camp a very "memorable" one for all of the campers.

Live from San Pedro, Costa Rica!!!

I made it and have Matt. Sharon nows considers this trip a success since I have proof that Matt is alive.

He has taken me to the mall this morning so we can buy him some new shoes. Finding size 13 is pretty tough in this city. This afternoon it is off to his school to meet with his teacher and than to meet his family. He is already talking about coming back next year or possibly a trip with Sergio to Europe (figured I would post that here so Sharon will have a little time to vent before we get home).

Don´t know if I will be able to check in again, but it sure is a great place to visit.

:cool1:

Hi Daddy - this is little gymnast. I miss you a lot and I am sorry I didn't get to say bye before you left. My gym camp wasn't over until after your flight left Florida. I did put a message on your cell phone telling you good bye. (so you can check that) Tell Matt "Hi" for me. See you both in a couple of days. I love you. Lisa:earsboy: :flower:

No way she would say that! Are you kidding me?? :sad2:
I was 35 when I had Jared, so yes...I felt pretty "out of the loop" when I took him to school. But it turned out okay....there are quite a few "older parents" in our community...the ones who built their careers first....

Yea - she said it but there was no malice behind it. A number of the gymnast's Mom's are close to my age. Her Coach is 28 years old and has been Lisa's main Coach since she was 3 years old (almost 8 years). She just forgets that we didn't have our kids until after 30 and she hasn't even reached 30 yet.

.

How on earth did two 100% "Type A" parents end up with 'Jimmy Buffett's mini-me' for a 2nd and final child? :confused3 . Proof that God has a sense of humor!!

The same way my ultra-athletic (read tom-boy) sister ended up with a "cheerleader wanna be" when she was young. This almost "killed" my sister. However, over the years Kristi (now nearing 16) has become an outstanding athlete (softball, basketball, etc) which makes Sue happy that she dropped cheerleading and "saw the light" HA HA

Or the way Lisa loves to shop and try on clothes, something I rate close to a punishment.

I do like to shop... but Elizabeth is becoming the queen of shopping... she asked today when we can go school shopping... ugh... it's July 2!!!!!

I assumed as much.

But, as I figure it, it's wasted on you since you don't dive!! Tell them I will go as a "proper" substitute, will ya??

Welcome to Daytona!!!! That's the story of our life!! (But I can't complain too much... all those wackos pay my salary... and hubby's too!!!)

Lisa and I are smart enough not to venture out to Daytona this weekend too. I am helping her with learning a new skill this weekend - sewing. This is something I used to do 25 years ago or so. She made a pair of capri pants today and tomorrow we work on the top. This was the comprise we made with her to drop Home Ec at Middle School - Her Dad would teach her how to cook and her Mom would teach her how to sew.

I used to sew a lot too... before I had kids, every wedding gift was a hand made, full sized quilt... way too much work after kids came along, though!!!

So did you get it worked out so that Lisa can take band??

It's mostly a fishing trip anyway... (I don't do that either, but that's easier to learn... or at least fake...) They would rather catch 500 lb fish than look at them.

I don't care if its nothing more than 3 days with a few good books and a drink in hand... good enough for me!!

Hey, Sharon. What I want to know is... how's his Spanish?

I'll find out this up coming year in school. I am REALLY hoping that this will get him enough of a jump on the upcoming year of Spanish to make it an easy class for him. If it does, this will have been very worthwhile.

Hi Everybody! I have made it safely to El Paso, Texas. Looks like I won't make it to Austin on this trip. I went with Ashley this morning to swim camp. I will post a picture later (as soon as i figure it out) of Ashley and her best friend Nicole. Nicole is also going with us on the Double Scoop Cruise. Next weekend I get to go to a swim meet with Ashley and Nicole and then I will be off to see Lisa.

Wish me luck getting a picture posted.

Lisa asked that same question the day after school got out. She loves school and can't wait to go back - Matt, given a choice, would never go back.

Yes. Her Birthday present (upcoming) has already been purchased - a new flute. I e-mailed the band director Lisa's situation with gymnastics to see what options we might have for her to continue playing in some capacity and he replyed that despite the verbage in the catalog, there she would not have required after school practices or evening performances. That is for his advanced band. She will be in the intermediate band. I am glad we were able to work this out. I would have hated to have her drop something she enjoys and just take a "filler" class at this time.

Elizabeth reminds me EVERY day that the "WEB" orientation is July 27 & 28... (its on the calendar, I won't forget)... she's upset now that I'll probably be in the islands then... I told her it didn't matter, I'M not the one who has to go!!!

Great! It sounds like the County writes the verbage for those books!!! Let's just make EVERYTHING more difficult than it needs to be!

It's on our schedule as well, along with pick up your schedules Aug 2 from 4-6pm. That's when the "dreaded" PE shorts have to be purchased. They have to wear PE uniforms in Middle School and unless they have gotten "brighter" over since last year, Lisa is going to be in trouble. I guess they have never heard of "little" 6th grade girls who wear size 6 (that's a children's 6). (KT where are you when Lisa needs you!!!) The shorts are going to be capri's on her. I guess I will have to use those sewing skills to alter them (if they will allow it).
