Exactly!!! As much as I am a huge race fan, I don't think I've seen every lap of a single Sunday afternoon race ever... I nap for at least 50 laps or so... even when I'm watching from the pool!!!

In a weaker moment of insanity and since John has the day off, A rare day without his classes, kids' school, or any other activities - we're taking the kids to Six Flags Astroworld today ..no problem, the temp is only supposed to be 99 with a heat index of 110...add all of that cement and metal... It's a good thing Scoopie's not here - he'd be a puddle!!!

Speaking of Scoopie, I'll have to make a pseudo-Scoopie like Stacey did... just found out that I'm headed to the Abacos for a few days at the end of July (Did I tell you I love my job, by the way??)... no room for the real "Scoopie" in the 4 seater plane, so his flat counterpart will have to do. Besides, it will be too hot, and he might accidentally get used as bait.

Thought I should try a longer post to quote.

We still have fire burning...about 8 miles to the north of us, but the smoke smell is gone. It's weird to watch it...you can tell when it hits fresh "fuel" and flares up, just by the smoke rising.

Stacey - I heard about the fires yesterday and was not near a 'puter --- Prayers and Pixie Dust and Rain your way....

Not yet. I leave tomorrow afternoon.

Hopefully I will survive. We have planned zip line tour, tour of cave, kayaking in white water, repelling down waterfalls, hiking around the volcano, and ending by soaking in the hot springs.

I figured that since Matt has not had any vacation time (he went from school end right into Spanish school) that I would give him a trip he will remember. I know I will from the sore muscles.
