Those are not ocean waves, but weather patterns. And that many in a row are very normal, there seems to be ones flung off the African coast all year round, just most don't get any sronger than a storm or two.

Mark - As I posted, puff-puff-puff, like a steam engine, this time of year it is.

Gotta run... :wave2:

With new people joining us I'm thinking of doing an update to the web site this weekend (if i can tear myself away from Harry Potter).

I'll put up a copy of the DIS meet sign and the location of the meet.

I'll put up Maria's name as being in charge of T-shirts.

We already have the Scoopie information up there.

I'll add Diana and Sue's info for linking of dining reservations.

Kevin are you going to do a Scuba site like you did for the 10 day? If so let me know and I'll add that in as well.

That way we have a one-stop shop for all the vital info and it won't get lost in the fluff of the thread - especially for new people.

What do you all think?

Sounds great! Thanks for keeping us all organized!!!

Here a little something for your amusement:

Recently I received a warning about the use of this politically incorrect term, so please note: We all need to be more sensitive in our choice of words.

I have been informed the Islamic terrorists, who hate our guts and want to kill us, do not like to be called "Towel Heads" since the item they wear on their heads is not actually a towel, but in fact, a small folded sheet.

Therefore, from this point forward, please refer to them as "Little Sheet Heads."

Thank you for your support and compliance on this delicate matter.

What do you do for your theatre group?

It's a small but awesome community theatre group that is an off-shoot of a local church which does mainstream and faithbased musicals and plays as an outreach ministry. The managing director has attracted a diverse core group of extremely gifted singers and actors from the community-so, the group has an excellent reputation.

My dh, John, was just named the technical director - and as resident tech nerd, he does the sound design, We have two wonderful lighting techs, but, he also likes lighting and has an awesome deep, rumbly bass voice - but, the managing director won't let him out from behind the sound board until he finds someone to replace him...which won't happen anytime soon he enjoys his tech nerd status...

I do mostly behind the scenes stuff, and will occasionally fill a "desperation" role - as in "we're desperate for more people to fill roles"...So, chorus work or walk-on parts...I enjoy it and it's something that John, the kids and I can do as a family...

Thanks for asking!!!

Thomprod, as you can tell there's another drama queen on the thread too... ;)

Welcome, rcostello1. We will be neighbors in 2070. We are the Thomases, Steve, DW Sharon and DD5 Isabel. Glad to have you aboard.

Yea... we 'cellar dwellers' are increasing in number! (Let's hear it for the cheap seats!!:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: ... we're in 2034.)

Mickeymo, your group sounds great. Please say hello to John for me. I am (almost) never an onstage person myself, either, although I do sing bass in my church choir. In theater, I either worked lights, sound, conducted or played keyboard in the orchestra. Small world! Maybe we can meet up on the cruise to talk about theatre stuff sometime.

chip&dale&fun, what connection do you have to theater?

kikipug, glad to know another 2nd deck neighbor.

:ssst: OK... I might as well come clean now, as there's one in every crowd... I am the anti-HP... don't read the books, see the movies, get 'hype-notized' by the hype, and neither do my kids... we're an HP-less household.

So I guess it should be a pretty quiet weekend, as the REST of the free world will have their noses in the new HP book... me, I'll be cleaning my house some more. (Ugh..)

Yeah... a TOP pirate: shared with Mary, HP, and my almost-clean house.

:ssst: OK, I'll come clean, too. We anti-HP also. Saw one of the movies with the boys, probably the first one, and never asked to see another. Or the books. Couldn't care less. Doesn't thrill us either.

So, I won't have to wonder why everyone is busy this weekend. More room in the pool....:cool1:

TTFN,
Maria

Mary, I think it's a great idea. One stop shopping. You're the best. What would we do without you?

Thanks.

Maria

due to impending rain we decided not to do udders and putters and instead went to charlie and the chocolate factory.

loved it. haven't laughed that hard at a movie in a long time. good, sarcastic humor.

"don't touch that squirrel's nuts!!" ;)

i'm sure we'll see it again in the theaters, then see it a couple times once it hits the $1 theater, then own it when it comes to DVD.

Let's see... multiply that by 500 posts... thats another 39,375 posts!!!!:earseek:

If my calculator is correct, that's 50,882 posts, give or take a few thousands. Man could we chat or what?? Can't even wait til we're on the ship. Won't be able to get a word in if we tried. It' just about 315 days away.....WWAAAHHOOOO!!! If you say it fast, it doesn't sound so bad...

Maria

Jim,

Tried some Dow's 10year Tawny Port tonight. Very smmmoooothhhh!! :drinking1 Mmmmmmm!! :teeth: :teeth:

Gunka, you beat me to the movie review. Alicia had to audition for her dance team tonight, just a formality.

We liked it too. We saw it with a full house, and nobody else was laughing much, guess they thought it was a drama. I was surprised that they used the Willy Wonka theme song, since it wasn't supposed to be a "remake", but not the Oompa Loompa song (which I missed). Johnny Depp is a chameleon, isn't he?

Hey BEAR - do you wqnt a pair of HP glasses? My person came home with 2 - I have an extra - I'll mail then to you... Hedgie...

Since last post was at 11:16 (othe than Hegie above) I presume you are all at the booketore. DH is out of town and girlfriend and I now have HP books in tow. What a hoot - kids and adults and lots of fun. We had a great dinner and a few glasses of Chanti to get us through the lines...Then a new mystery to pass the time, some games and people watching - then orange, lime and red tickets - after us, came more colors but we escaped, book in tow, poste, glasses, wrist band and gosh knows what else - kids were sitting on the curb readin by the time we left. Bookstore was very organized,,,we were out by 12:20. The countdown was more rauckous than new Year's. Ok I will edit this tomororw, Bye... :wizard: :wave2:

Our library director was just informed by the post office that the library copies of the HP books are there, but can't be picked up until the post office opens tomorrow morning :confused3 . No early release perks for this one.
