Why did Matt go to CR for 6 weeks?.......It's better than staying at home and letting me give him chores all summer long!!

Two words - Lizano Salsa!!! Supposedly the "national" salsa of Costa Rica - It's very good!

That's so cool! Matt will have a wonderful experience. My parents were brave enough to let me do a summer home stay in Paris when I was 17. It was a terrific experience, one I will always remember, even if I don't remember much of my french language...I do remember the co-ed locker room at the city pool :earseek:

Tinks Dad - V/A - one of our very favourite places. We have dined (yes, dined) there twice, once for our 15th and once (gasp) for our 25th (we were married at 11 and 13 - of course). DDE to the rescure both times, but I hear now perhaps not at chef's talbe, our 2nd time.
Good to hear we are not the only crazy  ones! You're right about "dining" not just eating. Very enjoyable experience!

Sorry we are going to be missing Karen and Amanda. They leave before we get there.

see you guys.

We're missing everyone too. Well not everyone - we do get to spend part of the day with the Scuba's! Plus I'm planning on spending part of one day with Karen's (ohiominnie) MIL. That's a pre-cruise meet for the Member Cruise.

Anyway, hope all are having fun in WDW. Wish I was there with ya. Instead I'm cleaning up after each and every mess that's made with the construction. Lots of fun. Bet you wish you were here. If anybody wants to see pictures of the construction, PM your e-mail and I will be able to e-mail them to you. They're on Kodak's website. I know Kevin told me how to do the URL, but I forgot what he said.

TTFN,
Maria
Not hard Maria!

Remember that every site on the web has a URL, a marker that tells us (or our browsers) where that site is on the web. If you right click on that picture or web page it will bring up a dialog box with a series of commands. Select the "properties" command, it will bring up another dialog box with the address/URL in it. Just swipe that with your mouse and copy it. Now go to the little icon above, the little earth symbol with the chainlink on it and click thatl, follow the directions (the first box will be the name you want to giver the link) the second will be the paste of the URL info. Voila! :cloud9: your good to go.

Since we are on dial-up here at WDW I will wait until we go back home, much faster that way!

Good Morning All - Congrats on the car, OM! What changed your mind about the Sienna?

Mostly price right now. Didn't want to go higher than the payment we had on the Chevy. Plus, we don't need that much room anymore...we aren't hauling strollers and pack-n-plays. Plus, the gas mileage on the Camry was much better. Plus the Camry has XM radio! :)

We still have Mike's Sequoia if we need to haul anything big, and if I need the space he'll take the Camry to work while I drive his Sequoia.

I think it will work out well. :)

Isn't Friday Karaoke Day?

Here's to get us started.

Remember - this is me :umbrella:
This is what I am not seeing :sunny:
This was what I was planning on singing about """"" ''"'''""" """''"'''
NAH - Be Happy! :cloud9:

Why are there so many songs about rainbows
And what's on the other side?
Rainbows are visions, but only illusions,
And rainbows have nothing to hide.
So we've been told and some choose to believe it
I know they're wrong, wait and see.
Someday we'll find it, the rainbow connection,
The lovers, the dreamers and me.

Happy Friday All!

I am so glad you'll be able to meet with her!! You have done WONDERS for her-- guiding her through this experience and just being there for her to talk to. I truly don't think she would have the same outlook on things if you weren't there cheering her on! I'll be forever grateful that God put you in our lives---and therefore Grandma Lightbulb's life!

Ok you have me  I'm so glad I've met you guys and in turn Mary. She's a very sweet woman and very special to me. I can't wait until we all are cruising together in September. That's what is so wonderful about these meet threads. It is all about meeting others so you are cruising with friends, not strangers.

Why are there so many
Songs about rainbows
And what’s on the other side
Rainbow’s are visions
They’re only illusions
And rainbows have nothing to hide
So we’ve been told and some chose to
Believe it
But I know they’re wrong wait and see

Someday we’ll find it
The rainbow connection
The lovers, the dreamers and me

Who said that every wish
Would be heard and answered
When wished on the morning star
Somebody thought of that
And someone believed it
And look what it’s done so far
What’s so amazing
That keeps us star gazing
What so we think we might see

Someday we’ll find it
That rainbow connection
The lovers the dreamers and me

All of us under it’s spell
We know that it’s probably magic

Have you been half asleep
And have you heard voices
I’ve heard them calling my name
Are these the sweet sounds that called
The young sailors
I think they’re one and the same
I’ve heard it too many times to ignore it
There’s something that I’m supposed to be

Someday we’ll find it
The rainbow connection
The lovers, the dreamers and me

Can't believe I forgot it's Friday!!!

See what happens when summer vacation starts!!!

hmmm Rainbows (I love Rainbow Connection!!!)- should I go with the obvious Rainbow song - nah, I'll forsake Judy and go with Louis...Don't have to stretch too hard to sound like Louis in the a.m....

I see trees of green........ red roses too
I see ’em bloom..... for me and for you
And I think to myself.... what a wonderful world.

I see skies of blue..... clouds of white
Bright blessed days....dark sacred nights
And I think to myself .....what a wonderful world.

The colors of a rainbow.....so pretty ..in the sky
Are also on the faces.....of people ..going by
I see friends shaking hands.....sayin’.. how do you do
They’re really sayin’......i love you.

I hear babies cry...... I watch them grow
They’ll learn much more.....than I’ll never know
And I think to myself .....what a wonderful world

(instrumental break)

The colors of a rainbow.....so pretty ..in the sky
Are there on the faces.....of people ..going by
I see friends shaking hands.....sayin’.. how do you do
They’re really sayin’...*spoken*(I ....love....you).

I hear babies cry...... I watch them grow
*spoken*(you know their gonna learn
A whole lot more than I’ll never know)
And I think to myself .....what a wonderful world
Yes I think to myself .......what a wonderful world.

Hi everyone. It's Diana, posting as Kevin today, I think. We are moving from OKW today, over to AKL. Another cloudy day, as the last several days have been. Not complaining, the temperature has been quite pleasant and it hasn't really rained.

Had a fun day with Amanda and her well-behaved kids. I was trying to defend a spot for them to watch Illuminations from, and found that they are quite capable of fending for themselves!

Caught Arlo Guthrie last night. Dude still thinks he's in the 60s. Had to laugh at his drug bust stories, because he's pretty funny, but you kind of wish your teen wasn't sitting there.

Glad to hear that Matt is doing Stuff and seeing People.
We were worried that he might be bored.

It's taking a while on dial-up, but we are keeping up with the thread! More later.

I called the school in CR this morning to make sure Matt was actually going to class and doing homework. He is. He has a rough first couple of days. Something about not being thrilled to spend his summer doing Spanish, but is in the swing now. He has been going out to lunch with some of the interns. This weekend they are traveling to some valley and eating out (beans and rice).

The family has been cheating by speaking english at home, but that is ending. After the first week it is full out spanish.

Wish I could go. Oh wait, I am! :sunny:

I would remember that too!!

Wish we were buying a new car. :moped: (that's the best I could do for a car) Instead, we're sinking $400 into repairs today on a soon-to-be 10 yr. old Honda Accord. It would be nice to have new but I also don't want a car note. OM have fun with that new Camry. We have a 4Runner ... wish I had that Sequoia!

My parents came in last night for Emily's dance recital on Sun. Grandparents & girls are spending the day together ... currently at Chuck E Cheese ... better them than me!

To all of you going on vacations, HAVE FUN!!! Here's hoping we'll see some sun this weekend. It's almost been a week. Maybe I need to break out the :umbrella: smilie until it returns.

That's a scary post. You buy when you look!!!!

I promise I'll be good. I'll just look.

Maybe Kevin and I can go look on Saturday after diving. :cool1:

You think by know I would have learned my lesson. Here I am stirring the pot when Sharon and I home alone.

I wonder if he will remember the color of her eyes?

:rotfl2: I had almost forgotten about that.

Be careful at the new car lots.....my favorite scent is "New Car".

Kids and I spent the day at the zoo. Some exciting things there. In fact, Mary, if I email you a picture, can you post it somewhere on the internet so I can link to it? I hate to ask, but this is a COOOOOOOL picture and Mike is on call tonight and I know he won't want to deal with it when he gets home. Pretty please? ;)

Ok, so then I pull onto the road that goes beside our house and in the distance see fire trucks, squads and everything. Of course, I could turn off onto MY road, but I've got to snoop. They are only about 100 yds from my yard anyway and I'm quickly praying that everyone is alright....then the kids see it....LIFE FLIGHT right behind my house (in the farmer's field)

Yup, there it is. It's not on,but the bay doors are open and there are emergency vehicles all around. No sign of an accident though. I roll down the window and ask the other gawkers in their driveway and they just say "maybe it's a home accident." :confused3

So I turn around in the street b/c everything is blocked (thank goodness for a Camry and not a Sienna) and go home. Well, we have a perfect view of Life Flight from our back windows so we watch them load the patient (too far to tell if they were bagging them) and warm up and take off! Wow! Shortly after all emergency equipment clears out, so I know it's not an MVA or house fire, and that's that. Hmmmm....

After the excitement at the zoo, and now this, I'm ready to veg!
