Yeah, we tend to give up trying to change you guys sometime around year 10... after that, we just ignore what used to make us crazy.

I prefer to call it a 'challenging project' as opposed to 'angst'... gotta see the positive in every situation!!

No... it's more like, "When you get to be my age, you'll use these same lines on YOUR kids."

 Happy Anniversary to Kevin & Diana!

Happy Anniversary, Kevin & Diana,

Here's a special kareoke in honor of your anniversary!

THE ANNIVERSARY WALTZ

Oh, how we danced
On the night we were wed;
We vowed our true love
Though a word wasn't said.
The world was in bloom,
There were stars in the skies
Except for the few
That were there in your eyes.

Dear, as I held you
So close in my arms,
Angels were singing
A hymn to your charms,
Two hearts gently beating
Were murmuring low,
"My darling, I love you so."

The night seemed to fade
Into blossoming dawn;
The sun shone anew
But the dance lingered on.
Could we but relive that
Sweet moment sublime,
We'd find that our love
Is unaltered by time.

Since we are singing to Kevin & Diana I'll add the song Mark and I danced to at our wedding.

Artist: Murray Anne
Song: Could I Have This Dance

I'll always remember,
the song they were playing,
The first time we danced and I knew

As we swayed to the music,
and held to each other,
I fell in love with you

Chorus:
Could I have this dance
for the rest of my life,
Could you be my partner
every night,
when we're together
it feels so right,
Could I have this dance
for the rest of my life

I'll always remember,
that magic moment,
When I held you close to me

As we move together,
I knew forever,
you're all I'll ever need

Could I have this dance
for the rest of my life,
Could you be my partner
every night,
when we're together
it feels so right,
Could I have this dance
for the rest of my life

Could I have this dance
for the rest of my life,
Could you be my partner
every night,
when we're together
it feels so right,
Could I have this dance
for the rest --of --my life!!

We just finished watching "Shall We Dance". It made us think of Kevin and Diana. :dancer:
Hey thanks, Jim! Now you need to find the Japanese version of that movie, it's much better!

Question: do you think Banfi would go with Paella?

As Jordan was getting ready to go onstage, half the class was chanting "JORDAN JORDAN JORDAN". Her dad was just a tad proud!
I'm thinking of a couple of girls on this cruise who should dance for the Magic's talent show...and knock the socks off everyone!

So, did she dance? I know she sings too! It would be fun to see them both dance on the Magic. But rehearsals might be a bit tough for them to dance together, lol.

Happy Anniversary Kevin and Diana!!!!

OK, you can tell we've been married for a while! We both responded to the same posts in the same way. I need to read through before I start posting!

Thanks for the anniversary wishes everyone! Love the singing! We danced to a song called "Rose of my Heart" originally recorded by Bonnie Raitt. Here's how it starts (and all I remember):

We're the best partners the world's ever seen;
together, as close as can be.

Sometimes it's hard to find time in between;
to tell you what you mean to me...

You are the rose of my heart;
You are the love of my life.

etc.

Smooch  Love you too!!

Here they are:

Rose Of My Heart

We're the best partners this world's ever seen
Together as close as can be
But sometimes it's hard to find time in between
To tell you what you are to me

You are the rose of my heart
You are the love of my life
A flower not faded nor falling apart
If you're tired, rest your head on my arm
Rose of my Heart.

When sorrow holds you in her arms of clay
It's raindrops that fall from your eyes
Your smile is the dun come to earth for a day
You brighten my blackest of skies

You are the rose of my heart
You are the love of my life
A flower not faded nor falling apart
If you're cool let my love make you warm
Rose of my heart

So hard times are easy times, what do I care
There's nothing I'd change if I could
The tears and the laughter are things that we share
Your hand in mine makes all times good

CH 3 You are the rose...
You are the love...
A flower...
You're my harbour in life's restless storm
Rose of my heart.

Was that the original Japanese version or the new one with Richard Gere?

.

The one with Richard Gere. It made Jim want to try dance classes again. (AHHHH). I can appreciate people that can dance and I wish I could, but Jim & I were more like Fred & Wilma Flintstone rather than Fred & Ginger. Who knows if we can find any "spare" time amongest our children's schedules to attempt this. It would be nice to be more comfortable dancing before we go on our anniversary cruise.

Just another excuse for a pre-cruise meet. "But Mom, I need to have you take me XXX miles to her house, that's where we are going to rehearse!!!"

It's bad enough taking her all over kingdom come here......tough living in the sticks....but Albuquerque is waaaaay too far! They'd just have to start practicing on Day 1.

Mary......"Could I Have This Dance" was/is Jay's and my song. You brought tears to my eyes.
In fact, all this romance has brought tears to my eyes.
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, KEVIN & DIANA!!

Yes, Jordan danced last night. She's singing at graduation and she has a chorus concert next week. Busy time of year.

I remember telling my Mom that I would NEVER say those things to my kids. Like "Because I Said So"..........I have a magnet on our bulletin board that says that! :guilty: Sorry, Mom...I was wrong!

Thanks hon. That song is so shamelessly romantic. The cool thing about it, we were competing at the time and a couple of the comp directors were friends of ours, so they used that song for the waltz we had to compete to. We did very well!

Stacey, better get Jordan a copy of Gwen Stefani's new single. I bet they pick that one. "I ain't no hollaback girl". Very catchy. I got to impress Kevin with my urban knowledge, since I know what this means. It was a thread on the DIS community board!

Sharon, that's great! Take him up on it, quick! We WILL be taking up ballroom dancing again. I want to cruise the Queen Mary for our 25th, mainly because of its ballroom.

Dance lessons. Just remember, smile, encourage, praise, rinse, repeat. Try not to lead! Men have it twice as hard, they have to learn to lead AND learn the steps. It never hurts to go with another couple and switch partners occasionally. Women are less likely to try and lead a non-spouse. And try not to grin too broadly when the instructor takes you for a spin!

On Tuesday nights when I pick Jordan up from ballet, I get to sit outside (waiting for Miss Pokey) and watch the ballroom dance class through the floor-to-ceiling windows. I love watching them!! I could never talk Jay into that.....at least I don't think I could. Okay, truth be told, I'm the one with the two left feet.
