We weren't going to tell him until we got to the port, but I see now that we'll need to break the news earlier than that. He said the only thing he didn't like about our first cruise was the fact that he didn't have any friends to hang out with. He did enjoy his time in the club, though. So I'm dying to tell him about all of the other '94's.He's never had an e-pal (or a penpal for that matter). We've had the most perfect weather here for the past week. I've been spending time outside and only lurking on the boards instead of taking time to post. I do enjoy all of the friendly banter that's been going back and forth...

whnim64 said:Well, we're definitely small town (or no town since we're out in the country). Caleb goes to school in Cerro Gordo; our house is 1 mile from La Place; our street address is Lovington; DH works in Decatur; went to Sylvan in Champaign (ILLINI country); I grew up in Pekin; have relatives in Tremont. Is that enough small towns for you to pick from?

whnim64 said:DS also struggled in math last year and the beginning of this year. We put him in Sylvan until he got caught up. What a difference that made. I don't know how they did it, but it worked (we could be one of those commercials). It made the whole 4th grade experience much better.
Congrats to Ashley and Mike!
We really had fun with the buttons and the shirts. gaRy from the Christmas cruise did the shirts and Mark and Mary did the buttons. Great job and it was fun. Still remember the comments: Look, some more of the "blue shirt people"!TiggerInNY said:Mary,
I just noticed your response on another thread about identifying DISers on the cruise and was wondering something. You said on the other thread that on the 10 day cruise, someone took orders for T-shirts and you made buttons. Are we going to be doing that on this cruise? I would be willing to help or take orders for the T-shirts. Or, is one printed up already that we could just tweak? Were they ordered from a T-shirt store or done on the computer? Let me know.
Thanks.

I'm always volunteering for SOMETHING. Like I said, I'm a compulsive planner!!! I'm happiest when I'm planning!!!

Buttons (which were VERY helpful). I think Mark has volunteered for this.
Mini Naviagators for DIS events - Mary did this last time
Coordination of Early or Lat Seating
Coordination of Brunch together
Specially labeled bottles of wine
Shirts (very helpful to recognize people at the port and at the sail away party)
Mini meet an hour or so before the Sail Away party.
Group Picture
Wine Tasting Party (this became very complicated last time, so I am not sure this will occur again)
If you have any other ideas, this group is always open for new ideas.
