Can you guys suggest an excursion in either Cozumel or Costa Maya for us? We have two boys who will be 10 and 6. I'm not too sure the 6 year old will like the ruins. My oldest would. Thanks.

TTFN,
Maria

Maria, last year we went on the Atlantis sub in Cozumel. DS was 9 at the time, and we all really enjoyed it. It was nice to do once, but I think DS will be ready for a little more excitement next year. Thus, we're thinking about the ATV's. We originally signed up for Tulum last year, but decided not to go after learning about the long ferry/bus ride to and from the ruins. DH said he'd like to try the sub. I was a little skeptical, but glad we did it. Hopefully we'll be able to see Chacchoban ruins in Costa Maya without any ferry ride. If the Magic can make me seasick, I'm definitely avoiding any small watercraft when at all possible. It makes our cruise seem closer when we start talking about excursions. I'm welcoming all suggestions. VerandahMan posted the following link for Costa Maya excursions http://www.puertocostamaya.com/eng/adventures.cfm
I found these for Cozumel. http://www.shoretrips.com/common/search3.asp?rcode=CAR&lcode=CZM

Whew! Finally got back on. My dial up would not work. Met the Scuba's on Friday and it really put me in a cruisin' frame of mind. The Scuba's got to meet my sister, Elizabeth/CodyJ, who will be sailing with us. The weather here was nice, partly sunny and 60 with a breeze. Poor Florida folks 'bout froze.

Sandi, thanks for posting that link. That was fun to look at. Wondering if that's the same Beach Break that has the restaurant with the lobster!

Maria, check out the Chakanaab park in Cozumel. You can do a ship excursion, or just catch a taxi at the dock, it isn't far.

My sister and I did this on our own last time... $10 total for a taxi (which we split w/ 2 others headed in the same direction), and I think $10 to get in (I may be wrong). We brought our own snorkel gear, and just hung out for a leisurely afternoon (after shopping all morning).

I'll probably do this again with our kids- I'm sure they'll love it there. I don't want to 'overschedule' our vacation... we get so little time to just hang out and do nothing together... that's the perfect place for it.

Shore excursions already - dh thinks DIS'ers are nuts for discussing options this far out :) - really, I think it's just because he's heading into a transition week with his classes - final exam papers for the set of classes that are finishing and homework assignments for classes that will be starting. Just slightly stressed...

I think we will actually try to venture out in Cozumel on our own - the various threads about Paradise Beach sounded fun...If we don't like it we can always head back to the ship...The kids love the clubs so, we may have a hard time pulling them away...Costa Maya - we may do the Chacchoben ruins...

Isn't stress wonderful??? :scared:

As far as scheduling excursions out far in advance: The folks that wait until the last moment often find no openings and are disappointed! Besides, it's fun to see where everyone is going and then make arrangements to get together.

He's used to my obsessive complusive planning regarding all things Disney - but, he finally conceded that I'm "normal" when he lurked for a bit on the boards...

Besides, he let it slip that he was the one who ordered the planning DVD - I just thought it came because of being Castaway Club members....When he's not distracted by the "little" things like studying, exams or major emergencies at work, He's just as excited as we are...(Yes, I said that tongue in cheek - I'm sooo in trouble if he starts having time to read the thread.... :rotfl2: )

I just live pre-cruise meets. It's fun to listen to others who are just excited as DW.

It sure was great to see Sue and DM again and also to meet DS. We had a great lunch at a local place and than off to Fort McHenry. Baltimore is a great town and we would like to go back, especially with the private tour guides.

Of course Lisa had to get some gymnastics in. Can't be away from the gym for a day.

We are home for a couple of days and than off to do a site inspection for our next pre-cruise meet in Fort Lauderdale. Need to make sure all the fish are still in the ocean.

Just came back from Sam's Club... didn't find the Banfi... :confused3 ... Jim - did you say you found it there- was it the one on Beville Rd?? I saw Banfi, but it wasn't the same brand, and was $56 a bottle. Sorry... I'm not paying $56 for anything at Sam's!!

I have not found Banfi at our local Sam's club. Our neighbor found it at BJ's.

The only place local I have found it is at the Fresh Market in Alt. Springs and at the ABC in CocaBeach.

I will be packing some in for this weekend to share with the gym coach on Friday night.

That's right... I forgot- they escaped sunny FL for some mid-Atlantic misery instead...(the weather, not the wedding...) Hmm.. BJ's- I don't even know where there is one around here? I'll have to remember to ask him later.

All that talk of Mexican food is sounding so good! No dinner out for us tonight... big fat juicy burgers on the grill, instead... but those are always good too!

I'm trying to get caught up tonight on all the postings.... people were busy so I am going to keep mine short.

He found it in GA, but there are several BJ's in Orlando.

Is there such a creature?? I had three, and none of mine would even THINK of cleaning a bathroom.....or any other room! I do not have Scubachildren!! :worried:

Last Thursday we were having company for dinner, also packing to leave for the weekend. Not much time.

I came home and Scubason had made a prime rib dinner for us. I can live with dirty bathrooms as long as he keeps cooking.

It's official, I just got caught up. DIS Board might be my excuse for getting a lap top, just to keep track of everything. After all, it's all about the cruise!

Let me make it easy for you. I have been told that the Banfi Rosa Regale ABC lookup code is 1337-05.

Let me know if that works. People have been talking about getting the 325 ml size bottles. I have not been able to find those. Could your ABC get those?

Way to Go!! That's the spirit!! Can you make sure the surf is down and temp is up???

I'm assuming you mean the 1/2 size 375 ml bottles? They have those by me at the Andersons. Problem is, for only a few dollars more you can get the full size bottle.

:flower1:Good morning cruisers!:flower1:

Happy Tuesday!

Sadly the Illini did not win last night. That means I'm going to have a lot of disappointed employees at work. Still they had a great season.

Well off to read the rest of the boards and then to work I go.

Thanks - I'll check on it this week, as long as I can get out of these four walls and see the daylight long enough!!! Spring fever is setting in!
