The drawbacks of living in the West! I'm late....

:cheer2: Happy Birthday, MARY!! :cheer2:
:bday: :thewave: :bday:

Happy Birthday, Mary!! Thanks for organizing and posting everyone's info.

Thank you all for your concern and prayers - yes, John works for BP at the Texas City Refinery. His job is in the business side of the refinery so, his office is away from the units. During emergencies he is part of the internal information managment team facilitating, organizing, and coordinating the flow of information and resources of the various emergency response and investigation teams. As you may have heard on the news this a.m. - 14 fatalities and over 100 injuries and there is still one person unaccounted for. The majority of fatalities and injuries were from a contract company also working on that unit. Please continue to keep the families and workers of all involved in your prayers. Give your family extra hugs and tell them how much you love them today!! Don't wait!!

:bday: HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MARY!!! :bday:

I stayed up until midnight just so that I could be the first to wish her a happy birthday!! and to beat Mr. Early Bird Scuba to the coffee..............

Good morning! Had 13 pages of posts to catch up on after being in San Diego. We had a great trip, and were glad to come home to even warmer weather! We never did make it to the Harbor House for dinner, but hit Ole' Madrid for Paella, and Max for great seafood. Had the treat of watching Todd English cook us paella & kobe beef during the convention expo... it was wonderful!!!! We got some great pix with him, and had one of his books signed too.

A Belated Happy Birthday to those that I missed... hope they were wonderful!

Welcome to the McFamily!

I read up on all the excursion talk... we are leaning toward a jeep excursion, but most likely won't book through DCL... I hate cruise excursions- they all seem to treat you like cattle. Last time I was in Cozumel, we just hopped a taxi and headed for Chakannab on our own and snorkeled there... it worked out great.

OM- we may hit WDW one weekend in May... haven't figured out quite when...

Well... I guess I had better check my phone messages and work e-mail now... had to do the important thing first!!! Take care, everyone!!!

Just got the kids school calendar for 2005-2006. Their last day of school is May 26....guess we'll be on the late flight in that night....but at least they are out!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARY!:bday: :cake:

Stacey -- know what you mean about the school calendar. even though I haven't seen an official copy, I called the district offices to find out about the schedule. They told me over the phone that May 25 was the last day, which made me happy. I was mainly concerned with our Winter Break, and boy did the district mess that up.

We leave for WDW on Saturday, December 17, and the kids don't get out until Wed. December 21 and don't go back until Jan. 9. Unfortunately, I will have to pull them out of school, which I do not like. My daughter will be in her first year at middle school and my son a sophomore in HS. My son is a good student and hopefully, he will be able to miss his finals (if they have an A and less then 3 absences, they are excused from finals), but I plan on going in as soon as school starts to talk to the principals at both schools and explain that this is a special trip for my parents 50th wedding anniversary.
Do you fly out of Phoenix?? What airline do you fly. My younger brother lives in Phoenix as well, but because we are actually going to be back in El Paso for Christmas, he is coming over here and flying with us.

Everybody -- Have a great day!

Pam

Stacey,

Just noticed that your son and my son have the same birthday (just 3 years apart). I also have a brother with the same birthday.:)

Such a tragedy! My condolences to the family of the deceased and hurting. Sounds like hubby will be VERY busy for a long time to come. Good luck and God Bless!

Pam, we all went through that last year. The Christmas cruise sailed on Dec. 18, but most of our kids had school until Dec. 22. I guess YOU get the "Bad Parent" award this year! LOL

Our school finishes up early in 2006, like May 22 or 23. Time to spare. But then I heard a rumor that the dance recital will be "the weekend after Memorial Day", which is TWO weekends after school is out. I have a feeling that they will change their minds when they realize that half the kids (including ours) will be gone by then!

That's right, Sharon, just being realistic. Hey, after we've all done water time or whatever in Cozumel, we should go Power Shopping!

Welcome, McFamily!

Shop - That's where I head back to the ship. I don't like to shop - I leave that "fun" to Lisa.

Thanks again for all the birthday wishes. All in all it was a very good day. Lots of nice treats at work, flowers and a balloon when I got home. :flower3:

On the shopping topic. I'm not much of a shopper either - espeically not a power shopper. We explore more than shop and when we shop it is for stupid little tourist things.

I'm hangin' with Mary. :) We shop for stupid little tourist things too. :) And rarely venture far from the ship to do our "stupid little tourist thing shopping." :)

Welcome, McFamily2. It will be me, Sue, and my lovely charming, delightful, witty sister, Elizabeth/CodyJ (who lurks and doesn't post) and DM, Jeanne.

I have skipped the excursions when we have been in the Bahama's the last couple of times. It was WONDERFUL!!! The pools were empty, the lines for food short, and it was very peaceful. I am looking at excursions at each of the locations and I will do some if one looks good to Lisa & I (the boys will be diving). I wish I had not done 4 excursions in 4 days on our Christmas trip - it was too much. But, that is just my opinion.

Sharon - You are so right. Jeanne and I have trouble remembering what we did when, it all runs together!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In Key West we got off and wandered around for an hour.(We got to see Stacey looking just like a Disney Princess).
