Was there ever any news on what happened to the person that died on the repositioning cruise at CC? I guess that stuff happens fairly often on cruises as each ship is like a small floating city but surprised that no statement was issued due to the hype surrounding this particular cruise.

I think it would be interesting to have people "confess" how many times they have actaully been to Palo's during a cruise

Our record is two times....once for dinner, once for brunch....that was on a 10 day cruise.

Our cruises include a 4 day, a 3 day, a 4 day, a 7 day and a 10 day. Our total Palo visits for all cruises combined is 3.

Good Housekeeping Tip:

Always keep several get well cards on the mantel..... so if unexpected
guests arrive, they will think you've been sick and unable to clean.

I am THE most directionally-challenged human alive. (Ask my husband...) I'd need more than GPS- I need someone actually sitting in the passenger seat telling me where to go.

That is exactly what the GPS does -"Turn right in 500 feet. Drive 2 miles to destination, You are approaching destination. You are at destination" Perfect for directionally challenged me, especially if Lisa falls asleep when she is suppossed to be my navigator.

Irene - can you see what you can do about getting the rain to go away for a week. The 18th through 25th of this month sounds like a good week for this. Also if you could advise people to stay home and not visit Disney during this time that would be good too. Last, but not least, if you could make the temperatures just a tad cooler.

OK - I have now dealt with power surges, lost power and lots of I'd go home but cannot find the car - it is lost in the river of water in the driveway.

I am ready to begin some serious planning to help Mary.
1. I will reserve the week of June 18th to wash my car.
2. We will plan a picnic, pool party, eary fireworks display and all around outside only event for the weekend of the 24th - inlcuding sleeping under the stars.
3. I will turn off the dryer and use the clothesline and not wash until then.
4. I will buy five new umbrellas and keep on with me at all times, around my neck with a little key....
5. I will give a dog a home, just so I can plan to give him a bath that weekend.
6. I will start building an ark and arrange with my neighbors for 2 of everything, 'cept the dog, I got him under #5.

Now about WDW - I have contacted guest relations to see if they will offer free tickets to Universal/Sea World. Sadly, they declined.
Next I contacted the Sunpass and Toll Booths to request the pass out "free ice cream" coupons for the week. They too, declined.
Finally, I decided that if it poured with rain, the crowds would stay in the hotels leaving the parks free to those of us that don't have to pack the day with 100% activities....But that eliminates my promises of 1-5 above...hum...

So, I set my mind to the temperature request and decided that if you turn down the air-conditioner you can be cooler and avoid the rains, but that leaves out WDW parks...

Mary - I can get any two of the three....sorry and all that..Perhaps if you called Willard Scott?

Our record for Palo visits was 3 on the 10 day (one each of dinner, brunch, tea). We did brunch and dinner on the same day!


After 6 cruises our total visit to Palo is 5 (we did one high tea and one dinner on our 7 day Western). We didn't go to Palo until cruise #5.

We have only been on one (4 day) cruise and fell in love with Palo's.

Thus far, one dinner and one brunch. We missed Tea, for Spa Treatments, a mistake we will not make again. But what the heck, we we new to cruising and DCL - have to make up for lost time.

And judging by the posts, I see we have LOTS of catching up to do.

Happy Memorial Day - A big thank you to all who have served or are serving...just found out my cousin will be going back for his 2nd tour in Iraq and his sister and her husband are off to Afganistan (after 6 months in the US from Iraq...)

Ah, I love it when a man says I'm skinny! Ok, you didn't use that particular word, but I'll accept "light weight."

See, I'm not impressed with Palo filet. It's alright. Doesn't compare to Longhorn's filet. Surprisingly.

I like the brunch SO MUCH better....lots of things to try, not one big plate of the same thing.

We didn't go to Palo until cruise #5.

Ours was cruise #4. The first 3 cruises were too short to miss a regular dining room to do Palo.

Next time I go to Palo for dinner I'm getting Chocolate Souffle....and only chocolate souffle....several of them.
