Hi all,

We could really use the rain - last night the news promos during the Tony's kept announcing "Could there be big storms on the horizon - details at 10" usually that means "yes" or they wouldn't bother with the promo...

Come-on now - you have got to be kidding - :umbrella: :umbrella:

11 days in a row down here :umbrella: :umbrella:

We are ready for a day of :sunny:

Trade - ya!

Technical question....how do I permanently change my fonts and color? It's me...computer illiterate again... Ya know how you think you're smarter than you really are? That's me. See, out of corporate America for a few years and it all falls out of my ears.

Thanks.

TTFN,
Maria

OH MY!!!! A TOP!!! Haven't had one of those in a while....:cool1:

Maria - are you talking about the fonts and colors when posting? Not sure if you can make that a permanent change. At last no where that I saw under user options. Your best bet might be to post that as a question on the tech board.

Hello all....! Add me to the list! I am Late Seating, Cat. 3 (not sure of the room offhand), and LAP rotation. I'll be cruising with ya! But, as I have 2 cruises between now and then, you won't see me on here too much until we get a bit closer to time to sail! :cool1:

Welcome ---

I'm new to this crazt group as well. How did you find out your dinner rotation. ??? Irene

Irene - can you see what you can do about getting the rain to go away for a week. The 18th through 25th of this month sounds like a good week for this. Also if you could advise people to stay home and not visit Disney during this time that would be good too. Last, but not least, if you could make the temperatures just a tad cooler.

Thanks! :rotfl2:

Jim,

DH has a GPS too - a handheld one. He uses it occassionally when he goes out on LONG runs to track his course & mileage. He's even brought it "home" with us to Louisiana just in case we need directions. :confused3 A little puzzling since we both grew up in that area & don't think we need directions! Maybe he should have brought it when we went to Chattanooga.

Mary- we've had sunshine here for the past 2 days... the rain seems to be further south (Sorry, Irene... you guys are getting it bad!). Of course it rained in Central FL for 90% of our WDW visit... of COURSE it's sunny now that I'm back at work.

(you really should stay another week for the Pepsi 400!)

Karen - much as we would love to see a race at Daytona I think we'll have to pass. Actually the day we get home (the 24th) we are stopping at home only long enough to drop off our suitcases and then we head to Milwaukee for the Busch race. We've been going to Milwaukee for years and love it there.

We had tickets to the Cup races at Joliet and had to let them go for two reasons:

1) It was only two weekends after Milwaukee and we found ourselves getting burned out from the lond days

2) We were treated like dirt at Joliet and just didn't feel like giving them our money any longer.

So i think we will stay with the smaller venue of Milwaukee where we know people around us and it is a fun weekend.

We had that problem when we lived in NH... it always fell the weekend after the Pepsi, and Ray had tix for both... so it was a week in FL, fly home after the race, only to spend the next weekend at the race too... made for a long stretch!!!

Karen,

Have you ever seen a race at Dover? That's my favorite place to see a race. You can see the entire track. I used to work for an Ad agency and we used to get TNT (who no longer does NASCAR) tickets in the box which was excellent!!!! Pit passes and all that good stuff. I'm sure Bud's tickets are better though. You're one lucky girl. Shoooot. Who do you root for? Jr.?

We were at Daytona when his dad was killed. My DH's 40th birthday present. Very memorable and shocking to say the least. We were back at our hotel when we heard that someone from NASCAR was killed. We thought it was Tony Stewart cause he flipped a few times right in front of us on the back stretch. Only to find out who it REALLY was.

Maria

Haven't gotten to Dover yet- friends of ours have been going for years, though... they love it there. NH was a great place to watch a race too- only a mile, so you can see everything, like Dover. We haven't given up our NH tickets... and never will- we haven't gone back, but sub-let them to my brother, as the waiting list for tix is tens of thousands of names long.

Ray was here for the dreaded race as well... and was at the hospital picking his dad's then-gf up from work there immediately following the race... chaos to say the least. Now he is lucky enough to work on what is definitely considered 'hallowed ground'.

WOW!!! That's pretty cool. I would love to go to NH. We've been to Dover, Wakins Glen, Pocono and Daytona. When my boys get a little bigger and can sit for more than 3 hours at a Yankee game, we'll consider NASCAR with them. Especially since the tix are soooo expensive. Gotta love the roar of the cars.

Gotta go and do SOME housework against my better judgement. Talk to you soon.

They were at Palo when we did dinner, and then again when we did brunch. Now, what are the chances of that, really? I think they went WAY more than they let on!!!

I think it would be interesting to have people "confess" how many times they have actaully been to Palo's during a cruise - our record is 4 (One Dinner, Two Brunches, and 1 High Tea). I am sure the individuals on the REPO Cruise went many more times than that. We tended to see the same individuals there each time as well, Paul & Pam, Kevin & Diana, Leilani & Rich, & Land&Sea Guy (forgot his name) & Susan.

I take my kids to the Bud Shootout in Feb and to Qualifying in July but not to the full-blown races... too long of a day, and too big of a crowd. Even though they are 8 & 11, I don't like dragging them into a crowd of 250,000 on Daytona 500 day!!! (Especially since Dad is working...)

(I wouldn't sit through 5 minutes of a Yankee game... except when they're playing my Sox!!)

We take it on trips that we know by heart, but have found it handy when we are on the road to find stores, restaurants, etc. It's like having mapquest in the car!

I am THE most directionally-challenged human alive. (Ask my husband...) I'd need more than GPS- I need someone actually sitting in the passenger seat telling me where to go.

Does anyone want to tell kikipug where to go?????

Sorry, couldn't resist. ;)

You sound like my husband. It took at least 5 times of going to a friends house across town before he actually remembered how to get there on his own!

I was waiting for that one...

Good Housekeeping Tip:

Always keep several get well cards on the mantel..... so if unexpected
guests arrive, they will think you've been sick and unable to clean.

Guess I better run to Hallmark & pick up a card.
