I don't post as much as I lurk, but even with my lurking I missed something. Was this all over the Palo ressie thing?

Yes it was.

Karen (kiki) I sent you a PM. I am very sorry that we didnt get to meet up! I had such big plans, I was going to meet with you and the Tinks, and ladypoo! Lucky for you all that I only tortured the tinks with my clan! LOL

Every once in awhile - the internet can be a bad thing. Innocent emotions and comments can be misconstrued. We've encountered this before - and I'm sure that we will encounter this again..... Please remember that the goal of this thread is to make our vacation better by allowing us to get to know those who we might not otherwise meet......

There are plenty of soapboxes to stand on - and we've always done a pretty good job of avoiding those issues on our threads. I think that this is another one of those times.

Everybody is different - that is one of the pleasures of meeting others with different points of views, experiences, etc. I have learned not to post on threads where my comments can be taken wrong. Those of you who know me know that I have strong opinions - but I also have strong opinions that you have the right to disagree with me.........

I hope that Moocow will return when the time is right..... and I hope that we just move on.....

:flower1: Good morning cruisers! :flower1:

Happy Wednesday!

Sue and her family might already be on their way to the airport - but just wanted to wish them a wonderful trip. Enjoy Alaska and take care of Scoopie!

Oh, I think we could have matched your torture! Rain has a way of making kids swing on that 'mood swing' even more drastically!!!! (So I decided not to subject anyone else to mine... especially people who I want to have a GOOD vacation with down the road!) We didn't let it stop us, though!

Personally, I think it's a good thing that they take a credit card to hold your reservation. A lot of people just make a PS just in case they can't find another one and then never show up and voila...that blocks out another family from having a character meal. A lot of restaurants in NY are taking CC at the time of reservations and they're no way near WDW. If you're serious about a PS, it helps weed out the people that are abusing the system by making PS all over "the world" and don't show. I know a few people that have done it that way and have forgotten to cancel one or more of their PS and that to me is worse than what was suggested on this board. Just my 2 cents.

TTFN,
Maria

Maria - that's what upset Mark about the Palo thing and making more than one resevation (btw it is one for each dinner, brunch, and tea). By making multiple reservations you are blocking another family from even getting one. That isn't fair in my opinion. Call us old fashioned but that's how we are.

You have to remember that Palo only seats a limited number of people (that's part of the charm). It isn't like making PS's all over WDW it very much is like trying to get CRT for breakfast.

Now if you really want a second reservation I've been told that you can stop by Palo and if they have openings they will slot you in, but this is after everyone has had a chance.

Well, I take a night off to read a book instead of the boards and missed something going on. Happy hump-day to everyone. It's still HOT and sunny here.

OK...I can both sides. But suppose you wanted to have an "adult" dinner with a bunch of people that you met on the cruise or before? Would that also be in the "danger zone"? I guess if that's your 2nd or 3rd time at Palo's, right? I don't know. I'm not a returning DCL passenger, nor a CC member, so I'm last on the list for reservations anyway. I have to wait until, what, 90 days before the cruise until I can make a ressie? All you repeaters and CC members get dibs first.

Just get me on the ship. I would love to dine at Palo's but if it doesn't happen, it won't ruin MY trip. See you all on the ship.

TTFN,
Maria

OK..weather report for NY...HHH. Temps today in the upper 80's-90's and our pool is NOT opened yet. My poor DH is soooo busy with the house, God only knows when he'll be able to open the pool. Know anybody that would be interested? :rotfl:

1 more post, right?

We enjoyed Palo on our first (and only) cruise and are looking forward to another visit on our next cruise. One dinner and one bruch were definitely enough for us. Our original ressie was for 8:00 p.m.dinner. They called and had a cancellation, so we got in at 6:30 instead. I'm so glad we did. We are 'early-to-bed' type people, and eating that much that late in the evening is something that I didn't want to do again. We had late dinner seating that didn't bother us, but it seemed like we ate for hours in Palo :faint: (not that I'm complaining).

WWAAAAHHHOOOOO!!! 500 POSTS!!

I'll never be able to catch up to Mary and you heavy hitters, but I'll take 500.

This year is when I really started to post significantly, thanks to all of you guys. Thanks. Now I can start my day with a little bounce in my step. Look out laundry. :teeth:

Chow for now.....

Maria

Maria - if a group of people wanted to eat together and one person booked a table for say 6 as their one booking and another couple that was eating with them booked a table for 2 at a later night it would be somewhat within the guidelines, but still might prevent someone else from even getting one reservation. What Robin was suggesting was that three couples could each book a table for 6 on 3 different nights and then on those nights each of the couples would eat by themselves. So each couple would get 3 nights at Palo. I think that is very unfair because in that instance 6 other couples might lose out. See the difference.

BTW the booking policy is as follows:

Concierge or REAS - 105 days out

Castaway Club - 90 days out

First time cruisers - 75 days out

As a first time cruiser wouldn't you be disappointed to find out all the Palo reservations are gone, but then later find out that one or more couples beat the system and got to eat there multiple times?

Sandi - sent you a pm about Sunday :sunny:

150. That seems pitiful compared to everyone else. But it's an acomplishment for me:cheer2: .
