arrrggg I'm a bit disappointed - I would have unequivocally said we're in for 2009 - a bit later in June(following Chicago school calendar). My parents want to do a family cruise for their 45th anniversary. - the plus - they would appreciate the cooler weather of Alaska - the minus - they just did an Alaskan cruise this summer.

We may flip to the Wonder if in fact they are doing 7 day cruises...

So blabbermouths - anyone up for Alaska in 2009? :)

I just sent an e-mail to my TA to see if she can even possibly TRY to send in a waitlist request.

WE ARE SO DEFINITELY IN!!!!

And you all are my witnesses....Jay is sitting right here next to me, I told him I was e-mailing for the waitlist, and he sees what I just wrote...and he said "YES...we can go, if DCL does it".

I don't think we'll be doing Alaska in '09. I'm more apt to go back to the Caribbean. So, if the Wonder is there, we'll hopefully be there too! Maybe we'll do Alaska some day but not now - the girls are still too young.

The DCL show was on The Travel Channel last night. The girls & I watched it. Sadly, I think Ashley is already starting to forget parts of our cruise. :sad1:

Congats to Jim, Sharon & Matt on your races this past weekend.

Ang

Ah, Angie, that means you have to go again!

I had not heard the Alaska rumors, that sounds interesting. Alicia will be graduating, she wants to go to the Harry Potter park at Universal, but maybe we can talk her out of it!

I would always prefer the Caribbean, beaches, snorkeling....to a "cold" cruise..like Alaska. But I really do think the scenery will be beautiful and have always ONLY wanted to do it with DCL. And I know Jay and Jared will enjoy it.

We're thinking of wait listing for July, though. No more worrying about whether or not school will be out!

I agree, the scenery will be beautiful. My concern is how long before it gets old.

"That a nice tree" "Oh there is another tree and a glacier" "Oh and another one".......you get the point.

After being to Alaska twice I don't see this as being a cruise for kids because even in the ports most of the shore excursions are about looking at scenery.

I would love to do Alaska again, but it's about doing things and just not looking. I think the best way would be to do a land package followed by a cruise to rest.

Anybody want to buy a black beetle convertible??? :sad2:

Back in the shop for a window that won't close....

Well, there's always the Rainforest Room and the French Panty treatment!

I think July would work. I've heard that mid-summer is best with Alaska. Plus I've never been one that wants to do the first of things (though we did do St. Lucia first) :) I'd rather they get the bugs out.

Especially the ones that bite you on the arm, huh??

:rolleyes1 Sorry...bad joke....

Yeah - those bugs. See there is another reason to go somewhere cooler -no tropical bugs. Dr. Mike will be happy that I won't be waving my arm at him to show him any bug bites. :lmao:

I just am not totally getting why you want to vacation with us? Hey, Australia? Hawaii? Alaska? Hee hee. :lmao: :lmao: :rotfl2:

:sad1: Karen doesn't want to travel with us any more.:sad1:

Guess I'll have to cancel the April cruise. NOT! Can't get away from us that easily.

You aren't getting rid of us that easily either! :) I've invested 32 hours in Chicago traffic for this friendship!!! (where is that pokey smiley??)

Ok we won't cancel. :lmao: After all what other DISer would take us to see a cement corn field?

why close the window... its a convertible??? (Spoken by the one who has had to remove GALLONS of water from her truck TWICE this summer after leaving the sunroof open... my boss says he's going to disconnect the sunroof button next time it happens.)

(BTW... did you know that a digital camera WILL get ruined if you leave it in a cupholder filled with water overnight... oops.)
