Kiki....both the kids are darling. You better keep on drinking, I think you're gonna need it. And I hope Ray has a gun or something.

Kiki, your son is mighty handsome too. Better get him his own phone, with LOTS of minutes and unlimited texting.

Elizabeth did great during her first month with the phone... then we got this month's bill... $120 over!!! She's got a lot of dishes to do!!!!

Just had a very fun evening with the Ohio family. They just left to head back to the hotel. We're getting together tomorrow for a trip to Brookfield Zoo and then shopping at Woodfield Mall to visit the new DVC store.

Good morning all!

I'm up already but don't really want to be!!! Bruce is trying to be thoughtful & kind by going on his long runs EARLY in the morning so he can be home by 9:00. But, when he gets up, I wake up too. I guess we've got too much going on today for me to get back to sleep.

Guess I'm off to clean my bathroom now ... ugh! :sad2:

Have a great day everyone. Think I'll have some more coffee before starting the cleaning. :coffee:

Is that the one that's $3000????

I really, really, really want a new camera. I don't really, really, really NEED a new camera though, so it isn't going to happen. I DID just get the newer Pentax Optio W30.....hee hee Virgil, one step ahead now!

But anyway, I digress. I was looking at the Nikon D40x...it's reasonably affordable. But then Canon has a new one out too. And besides....as I am reminded by my husband..there IS a difference between WANTS and NEEDS.

Darn it.

D3 = ~$5000
D300 = ~$1800

Go with Nikon!! They seem to have a very real commitment to the users and the knowledge that folks have money invested in their lenses. The newer cameras (even the high fluten D3) still works with all the older lenses. Something Canon has not done.

Good Morning All!

Most of our family is up and enjoying the last weekend of freedom before school starts. The kids were up by 6:30 - I bet on Monday I'll have to drag their rear ends out of bed with a fight...sigh...

John's busy making lots of dust, removing tile downstairs - he finished half of the kitchen yesterday.

Maggie and I are off to buy new tap shoes... The studio is still trying to find a place for her since she was the only registered for her level, they had her in the lower level - just to keep tapping and then decided it was waaay to easy. They are going to let her try the Intermediate level - which is mostly the older dancers in the elite performing company who have resisted taking tap until they absolutely have to - the pace is quick - both in footwork and learning - but, as of right now, she's thrilled to be joining the company dancers. Tap is her favorite and she is determined to work hard to earn her spot in intermediate, even if they are able to open a class for her level and age...

Stacey,

In case you haven't figured it out by now :lmao:

John and Kevin love their Nikons...:lmao:

Ya think??? :rotfl2:

I was at the bookstore yesterday, and they have instructional books for the different Nikons. I had to say that was pretty impressive.

But then, we already know that I am not one to read the instructions.:guilty:

HOW FUN!! I wish I were there!

How's the weather?

Anybody read about that DMX rapper guy.....his dogs weren't being taken care of while he was out of town....pitbulls...I think everyone is focused on the pitbulls again because of Michael Vick. Anyway, DMX lives just up the road from us.
He's been to our shop to have things done before. Doesn't seem to be a necessarily bad guy...just not what you'd expect to find in Cave Creek.

I bet I could convince someone to give you a tutorial ;) We could even time it for February or March during spring training...You know, to practice taking pictures for Jared's games, yeah that's it...uh huh, :thumbsup2

There's a novel idea, read the instructions. I've got a D50, maybe it's time I learned how to use it. But Kevin has been taking my Ebay pictures, so maybe I should sell my camera. Then Alicia would be mad, she uses it.

Speaking of which, I went to an estate sale yesterday and bought a NEW HP Media Center computer (3 ghz) with media drive, TV, dual RW DVD drives and HP color printer for $350! It already had Adobe Photoshop loaded on it. I'm feeling pretty proud of myself! Alicia got it because her laptop just died. Besides, I wouldn't use all that stuff. She was most thrilled with the speakers it had. I got a new office chair out of the deal.

Cute cute picture of Jordan! I know she's 17, but she looks about 12 in that picture.

As long as she keeps looking 12, that's okay by me.

What a steal!!! I wish I lived in New Mexico....I'd follow you like a puppy.

:banana: :banana: :banana: :banana:

It might take me that long to convince Jay that a newer camera is a NEED. But then, I could say that it's a combined Christmas/birthday present. And it IS a big birthday next year........

to paraphrase some of John's logic he used while justifying his new camera: You need a better camera which has a better response time to capture the kids in their action sports - low level lighting ect... ;)

I'm sure John or Kevin could help you with the excuses er, justifications...:rotfl2:
