Well, I decided to try my hand at writing a blog on the Med cruise. I started a few days ago, and have been working on it since. Managed to get a few bugs worked out - so I'll be able to post from the cell phone and such. If any of you are interested here's the link:

Great start! Except your Almighty Mac book didn't catch your error. The Double Scoop cruise was in 2006! :) It does seem like it was longer ago than that though, doesn't it?

Great, now ANOTHER blog to read! :)

U TOP with Virgil! :)

Virgil - love the blog. Can't wait to read your daily adventures.

John's on my hit list - albeit a bit of a good way - We've got southwest credits on tap - so, I am in the process of dreaming of a vacation where Southwest will fly. Looking at places I've always wanted to visit, but haven't yet. Today, I looked at Vegas (w/o kids) St. Simons, Island, GA (w/kids). Then, my dear husband plants the seed, we could do WDW... Jump on, and discover free dining in September...sigh... Do I book WDW (his last visit - our honeymoon 1989 - my last visit 2004...) knowing we will see DL in June 2008 or broaden our horizons with a new experience??? sigh, decisions decisions...

Awesome, Virgil, great start!! I've started my trip report in Word, so that it will be easier to copy here..but not as cool as a Blog.

Whoa! We're only a couple of blocks from the airport....and we could see the planes taking off and landing...but just now it sounded like one was coming through the room!!
:scared1:

I hope they don't do that all night!

Tylenol PM worked great. I didn't hear a peep all night. We're almost ready to head out on the final leg of our journey.See ya!

Thanks for the nice comments about the blog. It is definitely fun to write - wasn't fun figuring out why it would let me post text and pictures by email - but I got that resolved.

Does it look ok on the PC? I'm at work now (PC of course IE6) - and it looks funny. The text area is at the bottom of the page instead of where it should be......

looks fine to me - about a 2 inch banner and then the blog...

Get yourself addicted to the blog, Virgil, then continue it when you get back. :)

Back from dress rehearsal for Maggie's dance studio...Amy, the owner, was very well organized breaking the dances into 1 1/2 hr rehearsal segments. Only downfall, Maggie was in the 1, 3, and 4th block out of 5, for her 3 classes at a theatre 30 minutes away- so, no commute on the downtime.

John took over 1300 pictures of the various classes that the studio offers. so, we were there for all seven hours and 30 minutes of rehearsal. It is so amazing to both of us who are, by now, used to theatre work - pitching in and helping where needed - on the lack of response from the parents when asked for class supervisors back stage, even when she offers a discount on registration fees for the following year. Which I didn't take advantage of - I registered first and then offered to be being "stage mom" for two classes without a volunteer mom, plus stage crew hauling a few light set pieces for two of the dances. Her poor husband gets worked to death at recital time as her stage crew.

Nine hours later, we're back home. more like 7 1/2 hrs of rehearsal and 1/2 hr travel and 1 hr of mexican food with a margarita.

Hi guys, we made it to Tucson okay and have finished day 2 of the swim meet. Ashley has had an okay meet. SHe has swam 5 events. She placed 6th in 50 back, 5th in 200 back, 4th in 200 IM, 4th in 50 fly and 2 in 100 breast. She hasn't had the times she has really wanted, but those will come. She probably will only swim 2 events tomorrow, then she is off to the swim camp for the rest of the week. That is when my vacation starts.

Virgil,

Love your blogs, can't wait till you start your trip so we can all follow your travels. Have a wonderful vacation!!

I'M BACK!!

Matt and I had a great trip. We did lots of riding, cattle driving, branding, calf wresting. Even got to eat fresh calf testicles, straight from the calf and to the grill.

And I hope we can do it again next year. I'll post a trip report and pictures after I finish washing my jeans and getting all the blood and pie off them.

What timing... Scuba leaves town, and a new wine shop opens!!! Just stopped in to their grand opening... lots of wine to taste, food, etc... neat little place... looks like it could be a good hang-out!!!!!!

If you are talking about the new one on Dunlawton, I was there two weeks ago. Got a Port while there. Nice shop, but I was not impressed with the owner. She was reading the labels on the wine to the customers to explain what a wine was like. :confused3

I humbly ask you not to refer to Mr. Scuba as "Cowboy."

Please.
