Back from dress rehearsal for Maggie's dance studio...Amy, the owner, was very well organized breaking the dances into 1 1/2 hr rehearsal segments. Only downfall, Maggie was in the 1, 3, and 4th block out of 5, for her 3 classes at a theatre 30 minutes away- so, no commute on the downtime.
John took over 1300 pictures of the various classes that the studio offers. so, we were there for all seven hours and 30 minutes of rehearsal. It is so amazing to both of us who are, by now, used to theatre work - pitching in and helping where needed - on the lack of response from the parents when asked for class supervisors back stage, even when she offers a discount on registration fees for the following year. Which I didn't take advantage of - I registered first and then offered to be being "stage mom" for two classes without a volunteer mom, plus stage crew hauling a few light set pieces for two of the dances. Her poor husband gets worked to death at recital time as her stage crew.
Nine hours later, we're back home. more like 7 1/2 hrs of rehearsal and 1/2 hr travel and 1 hr of mexican food with a margarita.
