We've had a bit of excitement around here too. I went to an estate sale this past weekend, and bought a car. Not many people can say that! It's a 1981 Mercedes 280 CE. Doesn't get out of the gate very fast, doesn't get very good mileage, and it's quite the tank. Seemed perfect for the teen, she won't be able to afford gas to go anywhere but school and dance, and she will have a very hard time speeding in it.

So, going to register it today. And get her driver's license. The end of chauffering, at least until it breaks down.

Yes - she's excited about the new school.... Her friend convinced her to go to her school for 8th grade.... that will save me a ton of $$$$... so we'll see....

She's really excited about going back to this dance studio. It was where she started - so that will be fun for her. She left as a newbie - and will return as one of the top dancers....

Virgil, I love the view out the back of the house. That is one thing I miss in Florida, looking at hills. After a while looking at the ocean gets old.

Sharon and I have talked about how it would be nice to down size when the kids get older. We just don't need all the room for just two of us. It's nice to see that you and Frances have followed that path!

Diana....congrats to Alicia! At least she'll always be able to say that her first car was a Mercedes! Just don't tell Jordan, who isn't getting a car at all, unless she takes one of my hand-me-downs.

When did you say you are actually moving? We could be passing close by the middle of May, and have lots of experience packing.....just don't like the unpacking part.
This trip to WDW has the potential for several mini meets

Yes - it's bigger than our current house - it was function of what was available on the market..... We plan on selling the 2 lots across the street that come with the house - that will really decrease the cost. Frances and I talked extensively about making our house the hangout for Lauren and her friends...... There were a couple of house that would have been perfect if it was just Frances and me.....

Vicki - We plan on moving mid July - if everything goes well.... We'd still love to have you stop by in Charleston anytime....

Matt did not think the Jeep was appropriate for the prom so he borrowed the neighbor's car. Actually, Mike and Joan in on a 3 week cruise so Matt kind of just took the car.

That's exactly what I was thinking. I never realized how much I would miss mountains and hills when we moved here... the FL in FLorida stands for FLAT LAND!!! I was excited to see mountains in Jamaica last week!

My baby turned 10 today... this year is sure one to make me feel old... Elizabeth turned 13 in Feb, Ray turned 40 last week, and Christopher turned 10 today. But, better old than dead.

My baby turned 10 today... this year is sure one to make me feel old... Elizabeth turned 13 in Feb, Ray turned 40 last week, and Christopher turned 10 today. But, better old than dead.

I slipped in a tiny birthday wish to Sharon when I told her that Lisa's win was a nice birthday present.

And you're right, MUCH better old than dead. I turned 49 this year and Jared was telling me that next year I'll be over the hill. I told him "Not hardly. I'll simply be at the TOP of the hill"!!

The only pictures I took were of the concierge lounge on our penthouse floor. It overlooks the volcano at the Mirage and the Venetian's gondola pool. I was sitting out there with my coffee Sunday morning when the security guard struck up a conversation with me. He asked me where I was from, and it turned out he'd once visited Cave Creek, and stayed in the condos that were developed from the buildings where I had my first apartment in Cave Creek. Small world.
