Now that you mention it, my parents & Ray's mom DO want the kids for a little while this summer... anyone know if Southwest's Ding fares can be used for an unaccompanied minor if I pay the $25??? Maybe I'll send them back up with my brother after his visit.... then they'd only be 'unaccompanied' one way. Now that Elizabeth is 13, I think she can travel alone anyway.

Is the unaccompanied minor fee new on Southwest? I don't remember paying it for Mike last year...I remember NOT booking Continental because they wanted $ 75 each way...

Heck, KT would also go in a heartbeat!!! Only requirement....she needs a petite pitchfork! :)

Bonus for you....she eats like a bird, so she won't up your foodbill. Tell me when you want her there! :)

Would she mind that the barn is painted Maize and Blue, and I only have blue and yellow pitch forks

(atually there is also a black one for Mickey)

Just kidding - the barns are an unsightly green right now! We will be changing that this summer!!!

SCUBA'S
we will trade our DD for your DS for the summer?????????????????

gaRRy

To late now. If you would have asked sooner you could have had him for free, no trade. I don't want another DD in the house. One is enough. ;)

Where is everybody????

I'm working - Of course......

Off to DC tonight for a 3 day meeting..... and then back to work!!!

Hope everybody is having a great weekend!

Monica - Kristin is coming back to Houston she starts on May 21. Maybe you will all have better luck at getting together.... Maybe you can pawn the kids off on her for an evening.... :rotfl:

I'm here. Just got back from a bike ride in Jacksonville. Great day to ride 74 miles with your closest friends.

Matt had his Prom last night. I'll have him post a picture. It appears everything went well.

We're at the airport in Vegas, ready to head home.

Ohminnie....have you heard of Michael Doss? Used to play for Ohio State, plays for the Vikings now....we had dinner with him last night.

TTYL

Relatively quiet but productive weekend. We saw Cirque du Soliel's Corteo. It was good - a bit more light hearted and whimsical than their previous shows. More tumbling, juggling, and aerial acts then in their previous shows. Stacey and Virgil, Vegas has been in John's vocabulary more and more - I think we may have to satisfy his cirque craving soon with a road trip.

Virgil, so is this a permanent move for Kristin or another summer intern? I remember you had mentioned she had a job offer...

Gee, she'll be just in time for Maggie's birthday on the 24th:lmao: PBS has a neat kids' show - design squad - similar to Junkyard Wars (is that still on cable) - she's convinced John to organize a similar competition for her birthday party...On a much smaller scale... - thank goodness for PBS and their resources...There is several challenges and details on organizing activities on their website...:cool1: This will definitely be a birthday party for the engineers to coordinate!!!!

Another summer internship - she doesn't graduate until December because of her double major..... She does have an offer with Boeing - just will have to decide on where.....

Yup, it's been several years since he's been at OSU. That's so cool that you got to have dinner with him. How did that come about?

Virgil, how about an update on the new job and house?

Well - The new job will start in August once I finish up my committment in Charleston. We're planning to move mid-July - and then I'll either stay in the empty house in Charleston (if we haven't sold it) or bunch up times and stay in a motel.

Here are some pictures of the house (can't remember if I shared before):
http://web.mac.com/vws/iWeb/Site/New House.html

It was really strange - the house was "unoccupied" but there were clothes set out on the dresser, clothes in the closet, etc. I joked that it must have belonged to someone in the witness protection program and they had to leave suddenly.

Things have been overwhelming the last month or so. The stress of moving and getting our house ready for sale, my mom's death, work, and then our Med cruise has really taken a toll on the psyche. Hopefully it will all come together.

That sounds like fun! Kristin would be a great help with that...(good thing she doesn't read this...)

Might just slip by with it in the midwest. Coming home from Omaha, there was a girl (about 17 yrs) waiting to get on the plane to Phoenix, and she got through with a full-size bottle of nail polish remover. Sat in the waiting area removing her toenail polish!

I'll send Jordan up.

The theme from "Green Acres" just went through my head. :lmao:

After reading his bio last night and seeing that he's had a few brushes with the law, I'm not so sure it was a good thing. ;) Guy's got some muscles on him, that's for sure.
We were at a dinner with 7 other couples...an invite from our host at the Mirage. It was a really nice weekend.
I'm amazed at how far some of the couples came, just for this dinner. One couple was from Florida, one from Seattle, one from Boston, and one from Canada.

Morning All...Hedgie got her wish and we took a quick trip to Flower and Garden at Epcot this weekend. When I get pics developed, I'll post a few with comments...

Virgil, good luck with moving stress...I do not envy you...I think you can use the child labor summer program started on this thread to help y'all pack up in June. But a med cruise will "chill-u-out" Honest!

Stacey - you name dropper you!!!

Scuba - Prom Pics....we wanna see.

GaRRy --- hope all is well with the babies.

TO OUR FRIENDS IN GA. - I pray the fires are dying down sooner. The wind blew the smoke into Orlando on Sunday and it was horrible. I cannot imagine the effect around the actual forest. We (and you) need some rain.:cloud9: Or perhaps :dance3: my rain dance?

"We saw Cirque du Soliel's Corteo. It was good - a bit more light hearted and whimsical than their previous shows. " Monica -- I would like this I think...the LeNoebeau (sp?) is a bit dark, at least I thought so.

Hi Karens - you both seem to have recharged batteries......

later...
