I was rejected too - not sure that we were going to be able to go on the 2007 DVC Cruise - but wanted to see what happened and keep the options open....

Last year at this time Sharon and I were sitting on a cruise ship enjoying the warm blue Carribean waters......and an open bar.

What a difference a year makes.

We are traveling this morning to Detroit for the weekend. At least it will be warmer when we come home.

Good Morning, Happy Thanksgiving and safe travels to all who are on the road or in the air today.

We're in the car for all of 4 miles to have dinner at John's Aunt and Uncle's house.

My parents always have Thanksgiving and then when we lived in Chicago, we took over Thanksgiving. Since moving here, John's aunt traditionally has Thanksgiving and we have Christmas Eve. I miss waking up to the smell of roasting turkey. John is making rolls - a bit later we'll have the fresh bread smell throughout the house. yum!!!

Dale has left already to go march in the parade. He will get done about 12 and then we are going to try and have a quick dinner. Charley has to be at work at 2 p.m. Unfortunately for us, the United States Border never closes.

We are going to my in-laws house. Kevin's sister is cooking a turkey, and we are all chipping in other dishes. Far better than cooking it ourselves.

We must be warmer than FL. I walked out yesterday with a sweatshirt jacket on, and immediately took it off. It was HOT!

Oh...and Jennie-O's turkey-in-a-bag (the one that goes straight from the freezer to the oven and is all pre-seasoned) was REALLY good!

Good morning everyone! You won't see me heading out to shop today. Not much exchanging of gifts this year and what is going to be exchanged will be bought online.

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. We had a very good day and have much to be thankful for. We had a nice quiet morning watching the parade on tv and doing some planning for both our December trip to WDW and our Februrary trip to Hawaii. We spent the afternoon with my in-laws and it was a nice calm day and not some of the tension I was expecting. Then back home for a nice quiet even topped by watching my favorite Christmas movie White Christmas which was being shown on WGN (the superstation not the regular). All in all a very good day.

Monica - I think it was you who suggested the Home of the Brave tour. We're going to book it today. It means we have to drive into Waikiki to pick it up but we think it will be worth it. Thanks for telling us about it.

Good Morning All - Up a little earlier than anticipated due to a cat, insisting he was starving. I wanted to avoid him waking Mother, who is staying after our Thanksgiving feast.

Yesterday was "An almost perfect day".....I never found time to pop back in for an update with Dis-Friends, as we were busy from the time I logged off until when we went to bed.

Although there are onl 3 of us, since we have a traditional dinner, it takes as long to cook...and one of us needs to drive to pick up Mother, so it makes for a full day.

And now we have all those lovely leftovers - I can jus hear the turkey sandwich calling my name.....

We will do some shopping, again, because it is traditional....Not hitting the Mall, but shopping center for Bealls (it is a department store, selling causual clothes and some gift items.)

If you recall from last year, we go overboard on decorations. Saturday is our standard day for decorating outside, but since Mother Nature did not cooperate, I have some gardening to do first....Perhaps more lights will hide the weeds???

Silly me - I just re-read Mary's post - "Black Friday" - cute.

No one get trampled out there....Sam said HD was selling HD TVs for $500 (8 per store) - They were already lined up when he pulled in for work at 4:00 am.
