Hi everyone. Looks like everyone will have a busy few weeks. This really starts our hectic time as well.

Tonight we are supposed to be at a swim meet and a big football game. Whoever wins will have first place in 1-5A in district. Ashley is supposed to be at a swim meet. Since she was only going to do 1 event, we are just going to go to the football game across town. Tomorrow morning we hit the swim meet where I get to be safety marshall. Dale starts section breakfasts at 7, then full practice at the band room at 10, board busses for Las Cruces for a band competition where they will perform at 4 and then probably again in finals (they are very good). Ashley and I will finish up at the swim meet about 1 and then drive to Las Cruces (about 70 miles from where the pool is to where the band competition will be). We will watch the prelims, not sure yet on finals. I may run her over to stay with my MIL, so she can rest, because we have to be back at the pool on Sunday a.m. Sunday afternoon, we have Dale's first El Paso Youth Orchestra concert (playing music from Fantasia)

I have a lot to get done at work M-W, because I leave early thursday morning for Austin and San Antonio to see my parents and go to the Bands of America SUper Regional Marching Competition. Get back on Sunday, then turn around on Friday and drive to Midland (about 300 miles) for The Texas All-Star swim meet. Ashley was selected to represent the Border Region in the 12 yo division. Drive back on Sunday and then have a bunch of meetings at work that week, then another 3 day swim meet (11/17-19) and then Family coming for Thanksgiving on Nov. 22. Then there is the all-region competitions thrown in there for both of the kids and possibly another out of town swim meet the first weekend of December. Not sure when I am going to find time to do some Christmas shopping. Hopefully Thanksgiving weekend.

Kiki -- I can relate. I hope we don't loose our sanity during this crazy time.

Happy Anniversary to Mark & Mary!!!

Pam & KikiKaren, y'all have exhausted me! I thought my life was hectic. Pam, good luck to the kids this weekend.

The painters were here until dark last night trying to finish up on the painting before the rain rolled in last night. They have LOTS of clean-up work to get done but for the most part the painting is done. I'll snap a pic when things dry out tomorrow. Our neighborhood picnic is tomorrow afternoon so it'll be interesting to see what the neighbors think.

Thanks Angie,

I am here at the Doctor's Office waiting for some tests to be done and they have a computer in the waiting area for patient's use. So, guess I am getting to DIS at the DR.

Once I get done with these tests, I am going to pick up Ashley at school and then head across town to get ready for the game.

HOpe everyone else has some fun this weekend!!

You guys ARE really busy! WHEW!

No, Kiki, I won't be able to go to Vegas when you're there....wish I could.

MARY...if you happen to see this.....pay no attention to what some have said on the Member trip report. You were right. It was a whole lot of REALLY great gifts (I'd love to have the tin and the scrapbook!) but.....I would have had a terrible time getting it home, and a lot of the planning was just not done well. There is no way that anyone should be expected to buy an extra bag onboard just to take all that home. I really hope that wasn't an option when/if DCL+DVC thought about it!

Agreed. Besides, that'd be kinda mean of Disney to say "buy a bag to get your stuff home"....b/c who benefits from that???"

I'm sure all true scrapbookers would have appreciated a scrapbook without sticky pages though. If DCL was smart enough to tap into the scrapbooking craze, they should have checked into what the guts of the book should be. After all, the scrapbook that you can BUY in their gift shop doesn't have sticky pages. :confused3

Are you talking about the tin with the rainbow colored Mickeys? That's just adorable. :)

Happy Friday!

After an early wake up yesterday it was great to be able to sleep in today. Yes 7 am is sleeping in for me. Mark is still asleep however. I have a load of laundry in and we'll be coming home with clean clothes!

Today is our last day in the "world" and we head home tomorrow morning. It is however a very special day as this is our wedding anniversary. We were married 16 years ago today! We'll be celebrating this evening with some DIS friends on a Wishes Grand Gathering Fireworks cruise. We're also meeting with part of the group for dinner at Ohana. The rest of the day we're just going to play it by ear.

We've seen the two things we've wanted to most already. The new Nemo ride is adorable and I highly recommend it. We also saw the updated Pirates ride yesterday and loved it.

Happy Anniversary Mark and Mary!!!!! You must have been babies when you got married. :)

Weekend Schedules...

hmm weekend schedules...

Friday - Mike's best friend just got dropped off for an evening of Pizza and Nintendo - sort of a belated birthday celebration. Maggie is going to a lock-in at her dance studio.

Saturday - John is up early to photograph a 5k race and a 7:00 start at the zoo. Maggie gets picked up at 8:00 from the lock-in. She has a 9:30 soccer game with warm-ups at 9:00 and it's 30 minutes away. Race back for an 11:45-12:00 rehearsal at the dance studio.

Sunday - John is up veeerrryy early to shoot a 1/2 marathon. Church and then John's cousin just dropped off tickets for the pro soccer game Sunday night.

Jeepers you gals! I can't decide if I'd rather trade my weekend of work on the apartment for this.......Nope....I've had more than my share of the soccer, dance, sleep-over stuff...think I'll keep the "work on the apartment". Besides, I'm getting to the fun part, the decorating!

What was the little piano that they got on the Member cruise? Was it a music box? I must've missed that part. It's neat, too.

Happy Anniversary Mary - you should be at O'Hanas by now, one of my favourites.....

Went well. There are a few lines he still swallows a couple of words. Must work on those. The audience was great last night---very responsive. I implore all of you though.....PLEASE teach your kids to be respectful in the theater. I was about ready to go choke a mom who let her kid crinkle her candy wrapper for about 30 minutes last night. Unfortunately she was too far away to tap on the shoulder and tell her (otherwise I would) but unfortunately close enough to hear the incessant crinkling. And all of this after passing the sign after intermission that says "no food or drink in the theater." Grrrrr.

But I digress. Good play. Off to hunt down the critic's review (although I'm not hopeful it will be good b/c director said this critic is ALWAYS harsh to the Columbus Children's Theater and if they are this time they are never inviting him/her back!!!)

Glad it went well....

a few GRRRRRS to add to yours......

Take care....

No, no, no... no awards... that would be just one more thing I had to do!!! (Unless the award was a DCL cruise- then I'd consider accepting it!!!)

So suggesting a Dismeet in West Palm will only add more stress then - right???

How about if I stand up and clap at the appropriate time...

(Stacey - I need a clapping smilie here....)
