These two sentences, one right after the other, struck me funny!!!

Speaking of feeling better... my co-worker who was in the motorcycle accident stopped in this week... he's got about an 8" gash across the back of his head that is all sewn up, but is recovering nicely, and might be back to work before the end of the year. He still can't be left alone, can't watch TV or read, or do anything that requires any 'focus'... he is BORED out of his mind, and is sick of needing a 'babysitter'... which is probably a good sign.

All from doing something STUPID (pulling a wheelie) without a helmet in front of his own house while doing 10 mph... while his kids watched... how's THAT for a tough lesson learned????

hey real life is a pain. ya gotta have a back up planned for such!!!!!!

child custody issues, child support and probable sexual abuse dragging on for a year now. We finally have a warrant out for the sperm donor. hopefully he will not show up anymore. Lots of prayers on that one.

Patty,

Prayers and PixieDust to your family pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

Special prayers that the warrant does the trick, and that your lovely family can now live in peace.

Sorry to hear about your surgery; hope you are feeling better. :wizard:

Lots of wishes for good luck for you all, Patty. Love the way phrased "sperm donor". Sending prayers that it will be over soon, and happiness only from now on for Dom.

Have you been staying away from the doughnuts in the morning?? ;)

No donuts for me.

But I found this great bakery just down the street. I have been there twice. Great cookies and a piece of peanut butter pie!

Hey Amanda,

Thanks for thinking of me. I've been lurking too. School started this past Mon. Emily is now in 1st grade. She likes her teacher and I'm pretty sure I'll like her too. Her birthday is on Fri. so we've been sort of busy with party planning.

Emily is EXCITED about her 1st test on Fri. - a spelling test. Oh too be young again! Just wait until she figures out that she has test for the next 15 or so years of her life!!!

Maria, thanks for checking in with the status on your FIL. Glad y'all get to see him often. Ladypoo, sorry to hear about everything you're going through.

Think we'll try to go to the pool today.

Happy Sunday!

Our last day at Irish Fest. Mark is still asleep but will get up shortly. We'll leave a little after 8 and head over to the fest grounds for Mass. Should be home by mid-afternoon. Did the countdown for our next cruise and it is now only 9 weeks away. Then we'll go into cruise withdrawl until 2008.

Have a great day everyone!

Wow. I hope he had his own disability insurance! And what a tough lesson for his kids to learn. If he doesn't have any money coming in, then Christmas won't be much, either....not to mention watching Dad mend so slowly!

Yes, that annoying AFLAC duck is good for something... our annual AFLAC signup meeting last year was a week after Matt's fatal accident... that really made it hit home to all of our guys that it CAN happen to them... the signup rate for last year was higher than ever...

And in terms of Christmas... I'm sure that our employee charity fund will take care of that. We've also allowed people to 'donate' an unused sick day to him... so instead of the 5 that he had, he's now got about 48, which will get him through 7 more weeks at home at full pay. We take care of each other...

Remember... this is a BEERMAN we're talkin' about... not sure how good his liver is... :rotfl2:

You'll get yours soon... I'm sure of it.

Lovely morning in the Pug household... Coachpug, in an effort to clean out the dryer vent pipe that runs through the attic, put a gaping hole in our kitchen ceiling when he lost his footing walking on the beams. Makes my kitchen SOOOOOOOOO PRETTY. :confused3 Oh well. It never fails... one project always creates 3 more.

(Come to find out, it wasn't the vent that was the problem... something is wrong with the dryer- its running WAAAAAYY too hot... so now there's something wrong with the dryer AND something wrong with the kitchen!!!! C'mon- who needs a dryer when there are football and cheer clothes to wash 6 days a week. ICK.)

Off to hang some clothes on the line... :laundy:

How about the 1st week of November for your WDW trip? Food & Wine Festival will still be going on; which is a major reason I just booked a trip for that week (AP rates I just couldn't pass up!)

Kiki,

Your household sounds like mine!! Gotta keep a sense of humor about those mishaps!!! :rotfl2:

It's for reasons like this I call a repair person. I learned my lesson several times and now am willing to pick up the phone and call an expert.

Last week the washing machine was over flowing. I thought about getting on the web to figure it out or just get a new one because we already had this one repaired before, but I called the repair person instead. It was a lose hose. He was in and out in 10 minutes. I paid him for what he knew, not what he did.

Just think of it as a custom-made skylight! Sorry, that was neither funny nor encouraging. Best I can do on a Sunday.
