:grouphug: to KT! So you are hoping that Nick doesn't get the part right? Here's hoping for whatever you are hoping for.

If I spent more time in Karen's basement I might be able to lose some pounds before my October cruise. :cool1:

I think she's ok if Nick gets the part. Am I ok with it? Hmmm....'nother story. I so like it when BOTH of the kids are occupied at the same time. ;) If he gets it he'll have rehearsals every evening except Saturday. Then there are 21 performances over 3 weekends! :earseek:

Yeah, the basement is great.....in THEORY. I just have to get down there and USE the stuff to make it work! :) :lmao:

Must run. Mike needs me in the basement. That's where I keep him. I learned it from Sandi! :) :lmao:
No, no, no. I keep Larry locked in the bedroom, not the basement...:thumbsup2 ;)

Three kittens, huh gaRry? Hewey, Dewey & Louie. Or is that Lewey?
Something else to do when I get home...need to start Jared on his braces. I'm from the "old school"...unless they need the stretcher or some such extra work, I don't believe in starting braces until they're older. Found that out the hard way with Megan. She had hers young, didn't take care of them & was constantly breaking them, took an extra almost 2 years, and now her teeth have moved. Just my weird little thoughts on it.

I guess we could put Banfi and Pepsi in the checked luggage...but I'd be afraid that it would explode...or, when the TSA sees it, they'd rifle through my clothes.
Oh well...not going to worry about it for now.

Yup, in every subject there is an old school and a new school.
Our guy is definitely a new schooler. Explained it that when you're young the jaw is much more pliable and responds better. Besides, 8 yr olds won't give you as much flack about wearing a headgear or retainer as a teenager will. :)

I had braces in the "old school" method. I am missing EIGHT permanent teeth b/c of it!!! By the time I was "ready" to get braces, my jaw was too formed and there was no moving it around to make enough space. Yes, I only have 4 teeth more than a baby!! :) I REALLY could have used a palate expander as a kid, but I don't even know if there WAS such a thing.

With Nick, there was NO way to wait as his panoramix X-ray looks like a train wreck. :earseek:

I can see the headlines now "CMS Parents Endangering the Welfare of Local Star Gymnast"... FOX35 would have goofy David Martin all over that story!!!!!!

Sharon - how is your Dad doing??
I just spoke to my Dad and he sounds good. He is in Extended Care (not his apartment) at the facility he lives at. He will be there while they do the next round of chemo. I told him we would be up at Thanksgiving and he loved that idea. He continues to show his pictures from Alaska and according to him, all of this friends are just amazed at what he was able to experience with his health issues and being in a wheelchair (it helped to have some strong sons, son-in-laws and grandsons)

Good question, But why do I have the nagging feeling that you only get one bottle of the sparkling on the wine package - cannot say for sure ????????? Hope I am wrong - anyone know????????????????????

in case no one answered if you get the premium oackage it can be all banfi or fairytale..I had several on our cruise:thumbsup2

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: More proof that we learn ALL the best stuff from the DIS! Downy Wrinkle Releaser, Banfi, hubbys in the basement... hmm... I don't HAVE a basement... but then again, its football season, so its really a moot point.

Hope all is well with KT's braces... Elizabeth just got her Herbst & expander off... which means she's halfway done!!

dont forget the ever important duct tape!!:rotfl:

CJ had his braces off about 2 weeks ago....he now has a retainer that I have to get on him like white on rice to wear@!!

I feel the same way Stace I really didnt want to get his braces last year BUT he had such an overbite then he said someone called him buck tooth and it really hurt his feelings so I bit the bullet

That sounds like a great science project for homeschoolers.

Will sparkling wine explode in luggage?

:lmao:

What's a Herbst? Is that the bottom expander?

It's this:

Or, as we call it in our house, a hydraulic lift-kit... looks like it came from the NAPA store... she was MORE than happy to get that thing removed after a year!!!

Obviously, the trip was a great thing for him!!! It's got to be good for him to be able to share his memories with his friends.

We'll keep praying for him!!

Whew. No. I pulled out his paperwork from his consult and in the treatment recommendation section the next step listed is "lower quadhelix appliance."

Which, according to Google images, is this:

They told me it's like a palate expander, but it doesn't need cranking. :)

Callbacks are over. Now it's a waiting game. They are supposed to call tonight around 10:30-ish ONLY if Nick was cast.

waiting....waiting....waiting....

did he get it????

Yep, my kids are lucky they got my big mouth, so no extenders. The ortho did say that it was good that Jordan didn't have all her adult teeth, because it made it easier to move them around. ANd Jared was still losing baby teeth this summer, so his will be like Jordan's. And OUCH! Those spreader things look awful. I am NOT looking forward to my three or so hours in the dentist's chair when I get home.
I think I must be getting excited to go home, tonight was the first night I couldn't sleep since I'd gotten here.
Dad's doing great, just waiting to see what effect the surgery may have had on the cancer...hopefully it will have stopped or slowed it.
He still has to have an MRI to find out what the nodules are on his lungs, and is having a problem with his thyroid that will either need surgery or more meds. Hard for someone who'd never even had a cavity in his teeth to be sick. We've had fun, though. I think they were glad I was here.

Sharon, that's so great that your Dad got to enjoy his trip with all of you, and is sharing his good times with others now. I'll keep him in my prayers.

'Manda...thanks for the info on the wine package. Maybe I'll forego a spa treatment and spring for the premium package instead.

Guess I should try to sleep again. Have a few things to do tomorrow, and have to pack. Wonder if my family has missed me?
