We just had a line of bad storms pass through. DS called from home to tell me that the basement, yard, and roads were flooded. Thankfully DH should be home by now doing what he can, making sure the sump pump is working, Especially since we have a brand new one still in the box sitting at the top of the basement stairs for, oh, six months or so. Good thing that I didn't ride the scooter into work this morning.

good luck clearing out the water. We just had a batch of storms pass through us here in VA. We had flooding a while back when we were hit with really bad storms so I know how you feel. We'll be thinking about you all.

Thanks. This isn't the first time that our basement has flooded, but it's only the second time the yard has flooded since we've lived there. I'm thinking of staying at work later just so DH will have to deal with it for awhile.

I guess we have good news and bad news.

Good news #1...the boys won 11-1 and have another couple of games to go to try to go to Regionals.

Bad news #1....the boys won and we're still going to be sitting out there.

Good news #2...we made it all the way home without any trouble out of the "other" car

Bad news #2....looks like some extensive work to fix the Yukon...thanks to pack rats!

Good news #3....our local mechanic thinks he can fix it

Bad news #3....I chipped my front tooth and now will have dental bills on top of car bills and no time to go to the dentist thanks to baseball.

I give up...I can't win.

Hey...Jay talked tonight! Opened up long enough to embarrass me. One of the Moms asked us "So...which one of you did Jared get his speed from?"

Just got home and our satellite tv is out, but the satellite internet is OK. The basement is flooded more than it's ever been since we moved in. Rain sits in the yard, drains down to the field tiles, then water comes up the drains in the basement floor that lead to the field tiles. DH replaced the sump pump, but it's not going to do much good right now. The joys of country living...

Good news #1 We are on our way to Alaska

Bad news #1 We have gym tonight so we are waiting at the gym for Lisa to finish before heading off to the air port

Good news #2 Sharon is inside the gym and I'm outside trying to take a nap

Bad news #2 Matt called. He is still in Costa Rica. His flight has not left yet. They are not sure if they are flying out tonight or tomorrow for Miami. He was to leave at 1:30 and it's only 7:00.

Good news #3 I booked his tickets through American Express Platinum and have them on the phone right now. They are talking to AA to find out when they can get him to Anchorage. Thank goodness I thought this through when booking his tickets. I wanted to book with someone who could help out if he got stranded.

Bad news #3 I have to go into the gym and tell Sharon she is not seeing her son tonight. I'll do it in the gym because it is a public place. I'm not stupid.

Good news #4 Matt meet a girl at the airport on the same flight who lives in Miami. Time is passing quickly for him.

So what are we doing....don't know. All I know is that I need some to call Sharon on her cell and break the news to her!!

Hey, at least he is at the airport!

My friend who works for my accountant must have known that. She just got back from a trip, and brought me a purple Huffalump...and he has a daisy in his trunk, and a packet of (pretend) daisy seeds. My nickname is Daisy. And it's soooo cute.

Whew! I hope Sharon took Bad news #3 well. Good thing you did have a plan in case Matt's flights got delayed.

This is just one of those learning experiences when we say, "he has got to figure this out for himself". I can't fix everything for him.

I left him some messages with some options so it's up to him to make it all happen. After all he is the one standing in front of the ticket agent.

I kept reminding Sharon that he was okay. After all they gave him a food voucher and he met a girl at the airport. What more does a 16 year need?

It appears his flight has Costa Rica and heading to Miami. He should get into Miami around 11:30 PM. Don't know what he has planned after that!
