I finished my packing last night.

Weighed the suit cases and learned how much wine weights.....a couple of bottles are going into the carryon.

Thank goodness we don't have any weight restrictions for DCL. We would never make it!

We just got back from POC2. It was a rather long movie, but we all enjoyed it. I can't believe that we sat through all of those credits for a 3 second clip at the end, but it was fun. Have a good evening everyone.

I just got to see it late last night also. I agree- I didn't really realize how long the movie was until I looked at the time after it was over! it was long. I also thought man, I can't believe I waited thru those LONG credits just for that? The rest I say about this will be in white text- don't read it unless you have seen the movie already and/or don't mind spoilers. LOL


From what I had heard this movie was going to be a lot more Orlando than Depp- it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I didn't really like Orlando all that much in the first movie- but in this one he looks more "rugged" and older so I liked him better. He just seemed so young to me in the first movie- I'm getting older I guess. LOL
Is it just me or was Jack Sparrow mostly just a comedian the entire show this time? I laughed out loud a few times but at the end I was like hmm, he was mostly the comic relief of the show this time. LOL
I thought it was a great movie- but not "quite" as good as the first one. Sequels usually aren't quite as good as the first though- this one did a pretty good job.
I do think I was right to not take the kids to see this. They will probably do fine to watch this at home after we buy the DVD when it comes out- but on the big screen I think there are parts that would scare them a little too much- especially the younger two (8 & 6). I know the part about the maggots and stuff on the face/eyes would have freaked my son out. He was freaked out about his own eyes and having dreams about it and such just from watching a show on discovery channel about people getting weird parasites from various parts of the country- the one where the military guy ends up with a tiny worm like thing crawling across his eyeball. I may have to make sure he's out of the room when that part is on the show once we get the dvd. LOL
And now for the major spoiler (so don't read if you don't want to read a spoiler!)

The ONLY thing I do not like about this show is the ending. And let me tell you why- because it's fairly obvious that a good portion of the next show, for sure the beginning, is not going to have Jack Sparrow in it. I mean they are going to be off to FIND him- therefore he isn't going to be found in the first few minutes I'm sure- so I guess I'll have to wait and see if I'm right about that. And this show, without Jack atleast every few minutes- is not going to be as good to me. I'm sorry but he is THE pivotal character of this show to me. The rest I could do without if need be, or characters could replace them and it would still be good- but without Jack... forgetaboutit. LOL

OMG another UTOP with POC2. How'd that happen? LOL

Stacey, I had dinner last night with a company rep from Chicago. He told me something that will help keep it all in prespective for you.

Good news #1....they are moving into their new 4 bedroom house on Saturday

Bad news #1.....they have not sold their condo yet so bridge loans are needed

Good news #2....his wife is pregnent again. They already a 4 year old and a 2 year old.

Bad news #2.....They are having twins!

The new house is now to small, need to change the cars, 4 kids under the age of 5....

The good news is that it is NOT ME!!!

I feel better already.

Hey...Jay talked tonight! Opened up long enough to embarrass me. One of the Moms asked us "So...which one of you did Jared get his speed from?"

And Jay says "The UPS guy is pretty fast"....

I was pulling a Maria last night. I had gone to bed about 9:30 but then woke up at one and couldn't fall back asleep so I came on here. ​

I guess we have good news and bad news.

Good news #1...the boys won 11-1 and have another couple of games to go to try to go to Regionals.

Bad news #1....the boys won and we're still going to be sitting out there.

Good news #2...we made it all the way home without any trouble out of the "other" car

Bad news #2....looks like some extensive work to fix the Yukon...thanks to pack rats!

Good news #3....our local mechanic thinks he can fix it

Bad news #3....I chipped my front tooth and now will have dental bills on top of car bills and no time to go to the dentist thanks to baseball.

I give up...I can't win.

I've been listening to tons of podcasts lately....and one I've listened to is by Joyce Meyer about having a positive attitude and the difference it can make in your life. She talked about how bad stuff happens to everyone (some more than others) but you can turn a bad attitude around by adding the words "but God" to the end of your complaint....

I lost my job.....but God....
My spouse is sick....but God....
My kid is rebellious.....but God.....

(and fill in that but God with some way that God has used that situation to help you in some way.

Interesting.

I agree... if that were me, I would just check myself into the psych ward now and avoid the post-partum rush!!!!!! I love my two kids... but I think the thing that I love best about them is that there aren't 3 of them!
