Well of course I know you are kiddin (you are aren't you???);)

I don't think the homeschooling will go over well for his last year in high school. Not sure I could keep up with him anyway:lmao:

Ashley wanted to call KT tonight when she got home from swimming, but it was already after 9 your time. Tomorrow she is going to swimming early, then band then off to a friends for a birthday party/sleepover. I won't even get to see her again after swimming tomorrow until I pick her up Wednesday morning for our dentists appointment. So anyway, tell KT she will catch up with her sometime Wednesday

Absolutely kidding!!! We all love you and your family!! Wasn't that obvious??

We were just finishing up a movie about then (Eight Below....good movie....almost made me miss Maggie.....NOT...but I do appreciate OTHER peoples well trained dogs!)

Sounds good about Ashley catching up when she can. I know mine are in acting camps all week....9-3. Woo hoo! :)

Off to bed for me. Night all!

Goodnight Karen!!

Should have put lots more smileys in their, I of course knew you were kidding. Mary should have been here with us tonight!!

Not trying to confuse you, just trying to inform. I have stayed at all the DVC properties except for Wilderness Lodge. Each of them have their own individual strong and weak points. For this trip if it is you and the kids, I would definitely stay at Boardwalk. Just a little more convenient and more things going on.

P.S. thanks for sticking up for me. You know how that Karen can be Shhh!:lmao:
Please tell me honestly how the walk to MGM/EPCOT is? Is it something that is literrally out the front door? or are we talking more than 1/2 mile here? I am liking the idea of not having to use buses for these 2 parks..Especially with just me and kids and no other adult. The fewer times I have to put that stroller on a bus the better...
Also how is the bus service here? I have to admit we were blown away with OKW bus service! iT ROCKED! Although I never could figure out how to get back to our room once at the main pool bus stop with out having to walk down a ways to the 1st bus stop at OKW I for get what it is called.

Epcot is a very short walk from the Epcot resorts, MGM is a good deal longer one, about 15 mins something that Mary and I tend to avoid unless we're really feeling up to it. But they have Friendships that run to both all day and well past closing, so there is transport that is regular and reliable, and easier as you can roll the stroller right in the boat, no unloading or folding up. They actually removed a number of rows of benches a few years back to make enough space for families to bring them in.

ALL WDW pictures and DCL pictures are fun to look at even if they are of someone else. :)

And that is part of it, a sharing of everyone else's experiences of the trip. No, including your own isn't mandatory, and it's up to everone themselves what pictures they send.

Would you say the friendships are faster or just as expedient as the bus? For MGM

There is no bus to MGM or Epcot from the Epcot resorts. It's only Friendships or foot power. The Friendships do run on a very regular schedule, time wise they're reasonably quick, lots faster than walking there, but I think the big thing especially for you is they are really geared out to accomodate people with the strollers, the thing that bothers you with the buses.

We had a most welcome rain storm here this evening!! Lots of lighting, some wind and a veritable downpour with some hail mixed in. Right as I was out the door to get Alicia at dance, it stopped and the sunset mixed with the rainbow was very nice!!

From Boardwalk, the boat goes over to Beach & Yacht Club, then to the Swan/Dolphin and then up the canal to MGM. Not far, no more than 15 or 20min ride. The scenery is MUCH better as well.

:lmao: aha okay maybe it is not BWV that I have always wanted to stay in..maybe it is in fact BCV in which case I am not willing to give up so many more points to do so....BWV was only going to be 5 more pts that OKW....sooooooo they say stick with what you know right???? well in my case that is nothing but since I have already started learning OKW guess I will stick with it..

Amanda, BWV has two room types with different points. Standard rooms are the same as OKW for points, but there aren't as many and they book quickly at the 11 month mark. The Preferred rooms, which would probably be available, have the same point structure as BCV. Book a room at OKW, and ask to be waitlisted for BWV standard. If it comes through, it's meant to be. I've gotten lucky before with the waitlist.

Storm scary. We've had storms every night, but this was the biggest. And we sprung a leak in our living room. Kevin thinks it is the seal under the cooler. I'm just hoping that the Roofrepair Fairy visits us before tomorrow night!

we have had storms almost everyday for the past week. Our basement flooded twice, finally got the DH to snake the backdoor drain and solved the flooding but now our walls are leaking so we still have the wet/dry vac out. Added bonus, we are supposed to have storms till Sat. Gotta love this weather, first we're in a drought now flood zone. Hope everyone has a safe summer and no more weather related bad news(hopefully). Nighty, night.

Lookey here woman.... don't make me come over there and....
:rotfl:

Okay okay.. I see what you're saying. But Lord knows WHEN I'll actually get around to putting those pictures on a CD. I have to first relearn how to do that. It's been so long. I'm so bad... I need to get around to that anyway I have FAR too many photos on my computer at this moment and now that I'm thinking about it- I'm now very scared something will happen to my computer. Here comes my friend "worry wart"- visiting me again.

Okay let me find that post again with the list of what to do. LOL

thanks!

Good morning all! I'm at work already this morning since I'll have to take 3 hours out of my day to wait for the cable people. I ordered a new DSL modem yesterday so maybe it'll be at the door when I get home. If so, I can work from home while waiting. If not, I'll work on our cruise scrapbook. I worked on the "title" page last night. I think I have everything layed out & just need to put it on the page. I was thinking of more ideas this morning though.

Hope everyone has a great Tues.!

So glad your house did not catch fire. Just make sure if your smoke detectors are direct wired they are okay. My house caught fire 3 years ago from lightning along with a 75 ft oak tree thru the roof. It even back fed and got my neighbors computers and garage door openers. Just melted all the electrical stuff, even the phone on the wall and it followed water lines inside walls a created several holes in them that we discovered a week later. After recovering from that fire was not ready for this last one from toy helicopter battery exploding. Remodeling everything again is not my idea of fun. WE are having storms here in SC too so know where you are coming from. Take care and understand what your going thru. Hope all will be well soon. I may get my house finished in the next week. Definitely ready to have home back.
 But please check your smoke detectors thankfully had replaced mine with battery operated that is what saved family this time. Every room in the house has one now. Over kill maybe but we made it out since we only have one main exit from 2 story home Thankful for smoke detectors.

Wow Deb ... two fires to have to go through! I don't know if I could handle that! Thank you for the advice about the smoke detectors. We will test them. My BIL suggested that we have an electrician come out & check the wiring in the house. I asked the adjuster about that but she didn't say that it was something they recommended so I'm not sure if they'll pay the bill. Any words of advice from anyone else?

Oh ... HH .. or any of you other handy guys ... not sure if this is your realm or not ... there is an actual scorch spot on some wood by the roof. I asked DH if we should have someone out to repair it. He said that it just needed to be painted over. Is that all needs to be done? Or should the wood be replaced?

Julia - we're going to Murrells Inlet/Myrtle Beach this August for the 1st time. Do you have any advice on what to/not to miss there? Anybody else have any kind words?

Thanks.

We camped at Myrtle Beach on our way north one year....Must go find the name of the super-duper crab resturant - cannot miss it - a giant crab on its roof.....Had lots of fun, gorgeous sunrise.......
