Oh, please don't feel bad---I'm not more sad, just wanted to let you know that we all agree with what you wrote. It is true.

BTW, when I saw the video Scuba sent us, I cried when I heard you all yelling down to GaRry. Like I said, you are the best!!!

Love,
susan

Well, you weren't alone. I was crying for that part, too! Lucky some CM didn't come along and have me locked up in the psycho ward at the med center!

VIDEO??? The VIDEO is OUT??? SCUBA! :furious:

Would it be possible for us to have 2 threads going? One like we have now – a basically “anything goes” type of thread! And one that is expressly for coordinating meets, dining, excursions, wine orders, t-shirts, questions specific to the group plans. This might be easier for some DISers to keep up with. I know Mark & Mary’s site was invaluable for keeping us informed – we’ll still need that too!!!

Off to work now! :wave2:

Hi Laura!
This is a good idea. But instead of two threads (for me to bookmark), how about if we write all cruise related items, thoughts, questions in DIS green in the main thread? We could also increase the font size to help those who need to find info quickly.
And when anything is finalized, add that to the website?

A DIS meet on the 2nd sea day. Kind of a catch up. Maybe someplace quiet on the cruise. Like one of the lounges. It seems you get in a groove and just don't see everyone. This would be a good way to catch up with everyone.

That takes me back to our Celebrity cruise in Dec. '03. For some reason, we did have an end of cruise meet with people that we "met" through another cruise board. It turned into a complaint session. Not about the cruisers, but about the cruise. That's one thing that would never happen on DCL!

Thank you, Kevin.
Improving all the time and the boys are a huge help. Adam yells at me if I even think about doing the laundry! They are spoiling me....but don't tell them. :rolleyes1

Also, Adam wondered how is Alicia's toe doing?

susan

Adam is a thoughtful one. Her toe is mending, thanks. She's going to try pointe class on Saturday, but she's already been doing everything else.

Yeah, where's our copy? Hey!

OM, darling picture of your GN. Just tell your sister that it's good she's young enough to keep up with him! Sorry to hear about Mikes' Grandma.

Now don't be calling for contracts..... :rotfl2:

It was for Susan!! :cheer2: Truly, laughter IS the best medicine!!

OK, I'm going to try! Here's my list:

“Keepers” from our Blabbermouth cruise:

Mark & Mary's website
The T-shirts/Polo shirts
Linking dining
Friday night meet(s) - Radisson, Hyatt, any others (?)
Saturday morning breakfast at Grills – or other restaurant(s)
3 pm DisMeet on board
The private label wine

Add:

Group photo(s)
A 2nd DisMeet (I love Mary’s idea of 2nd sea day)
Also, some informal Meets scheduled (this might help keep everyone feeling connected to the group)

Some good ideas and kudo's here!!

I LIKE them!!

Just curious ... how did the other early diners like the 5:30 time? We didn't particularly care for it. It was hard for us to get the girls down for a nap in the afternoon then get them ready for dinner w/out being total beasts. Late dining would be entirely too late for us as we eat at 6:00 when we're home. I would be ok with the latest early dining since it wouldn't bother me not to be Lumiere's on formal night and Parrot Cay on pirate night.

Great lists everyone. I love the idea of a 2nd meet!

Hi everyone -

Susan - glad to see you posting. Hope all is well and getting better.

As far as the early seating goes, I'm with Angie - I would prefer 6:00 rather than 5:30. It just makes it harder to get back from excursions and shower etc and be ready for 5:30. I did work out for my stomach though. Usually I have problems with indegestion, but did not have any during the cruise eating so early every night. Thank goodness. I wouldn't mind the late one, but I'm afraid it will bother my tummy. We'll see about that on the next one.

Hi, Maria!!

I was a bit worried that the late dining wouldn't work well for us (usually have dinner 6 p.m. at home). But the 8 p.m. seating was GREAT!! Definitely "late seating" for us next cruise! :woohoo:

I didn't mind it... but then again, my kids are past the napping stage. (Heck... they were past the napping stage at 18 months... and NOT by my choice!!!)

I always thought that we could never do late seating because we are so used to eating dinner between 5:30 and 6:00... but it did sort of backfire, as most nights, Christopher would walk into the room to get dressed for dinner at 5, toting 2 or 3 pieces of pizza... so his 'snack' that ruined his dinner, would have probably held him over til 8 or so... oh well... live and learn... one more reason for a DO-OVER!!!!

Lets see... DIS cruise suggestions...

I agree with the 2nd meet... but I would do it sooner - around Monday or Tuesday... so we've still got some of the week left... it seems like by Monday, I had already run into everyone who I would end up running into for the week (does that make sense... if not... oh well.)

Definitely agree with the group photo!!!!

I like Susan's idea of one thread but different colors... I think two threads would be cumbersome, as we often mix cruise and non-cruise info in the same post. If we haven't figured out by now that we all talk too much, we're NEVER gonna learn!!!

Maybe if Mary & Mark had one of us that they trusted to help out with posting pertinent info on the website, we could get some more info off of the thread and onto the site?? (No, NOT trying to make more work for Mark & Mary... just the opposite!!!!)

Or we could do a weekly e-mail update (somebody other than whoever is doing the website)of pertintent cruise info that came up in the past week... then post the updates as pdfs on the website to refer back to. Most people read their e-mail even when they don't have time to get on the boards.

It seems that the late-seaters and the early-seaters were often ships passing in the night... how about a coordinated time and place for lunch on CC... just a thought.

GaRry needs to join us on the next DIS cruise!!

Still thinking... but don't want to think too hard... don't know if we can do DCL in '08, and don't want to start the wheels turning on that one yet!!!

Two things I'd like to see. One we talked about before the cruise and one after.

  1. A group photo. Did you guys see the one in shutters of the neon green shirted people. It rocked!
  2. A DIS meet on the 2nd sea day. Kind of a catch up. Maybe someplace quiet on the cruise. Like one of the lounges. It seems you get in a groove and just don't see everyone. This would be a good way to catch up with everyone.

The neon green group was HUGE!! But as the cruise went on, a few of them got to be just as annoying as what I've heard of a certain other (repo) group....they had a few rude people. I am sooooo glad that WE didn't have any rude people. ;)

These 3 are my favorites, Karen!! GREAT ideas!! Must add them to "The List" :thumbsup2

Thank you, Diana.
I'll let him know. Hopefully, Saturday will go smoothly for her. Let her know we'll be thinking of her!
We hope there is a video of her dance on board ship somewhere???!!!!

Now that we're all taking about a do-over, I have a question about moving our booking. We definitely liked our cat. 8 but was thinking that if we were able to snag a SPH room, then we could save some $. Has anyone ever had one of these rooms? Any comments? If I decide to go that route, should I transfer my ressie to a TA now & have them deal w/ trying to snag me one of them?

Kikikaren, did you have a cat. 9? I should have asked you for a comparison to our cat. 8. I got to see Pam's inside room ... not really sure of what cat. it was. Should have asked to see someone's verandah too... it's probably best that I didn't see one of those, though.

We had a Cat 9... I believe that the only difference is location. The Cat 9's are on deck 2 (and 1, but those have the smaller porthole), and the Cat 8's are on the higher decks. Honestly, I didn't mind Deck 2 at all... it was relatitvely quiet (except for the noise from above- we were directly beneath the wood floor in the 'lobby' area of Rockin' Bar D... heard the occasional 'elephant stampeding', but didn't care.)

One thing that was different- and I'm not sure if its all Cat 9's or just ours, but we didn't have that beloved 'footlocker' that everyone seems to rave about... but, having not cruised DCL before, again, we didn't care. There was plenty of space for all 4 of us and all of our stuff.

There are 6 SPH's. 5020 and 5520 are the best 2 "if" you don't want connecting rooms. The views are slightly obstructed, but still pretty good! Your TA will probably have a better chance of getting one for you so, yes, I would transfer the ressie to a TA with instructions to grab one for you! (once we figure out which week, of course!!)
