While we're on the subject (kind of) of injuries right before traveling, I can share a (now) funny story about Jim, my "refuses to acknowledge he's not a kid anymore" husband. :rolleyes1

On Saturday night, we went to a friend's house for dinner (the friend with the Mickey bar and martini, actually), and Erin and their daughter went outside to play on the swingset with their daddies there to make sure they didn't hurt themselves. (Our first mistake, I guess.) Well, one of the daddies, I'm not sure which one, thought it would be fun to run UP the slide (which is actually pretty high and steep). So each daddy took a running start and ran up the slide.

The first round went so well, they thought it would be cool to do it again. Apparently, Jim slipped on the way up, though, and fell. Hard. Hit his ribs on the side of the slide and had the wind knocked out of him. :headache: He really hurt that night, and I thought maybe he should go get his ribs x-rayed to make sure he didn't fracture anything. I felt pretty bad for him. But I also had to hold myself back from killing him.

So again... NO MORE INJURIES!!!!

VERY good drugs. really starting to stiff up now. My cleaning women are here but when thry leave it's pill and lay on the couch time.

You had to go and use the word "cleaning" didn't you?
Now I feel bad. I've been housecleaning most of the day and making good progress. Then ohiomickey got home and I mostly quit. Guess I don't want him to see how hard I can work b/c he'll come to expect it. 1/2 the house looks REALLY good though. Sitting here trying to figure out why I don't keep it this way all the time....
maybe b/c we LIVE in it!

Trying to catch up on what I DIDN'T do yesterday!!!! Actually WORKING today... (not just pretending)... but still time to pop in here in between, as I'm chained to an Excel spreadsheet all day...

I can only look at it for so long before I need something more fun to look at... like this... except Stacey falling and hurting herself is NOT what I'd consider fun... so she'd better cut it out!!! No more injuries, illnesses, freak accidents, pet-swallowing episodes or other activities that might inhibit our vacations!!!!!

Did I miss something ... who swallowed a pet??? :confused3

So what you're saying is we need to keep him away from the Mickey slide??? :lmao: :lmao: Glad he's ok!!

The REALLY funny thing is, I thought of adding some sort of comment to that effect to the bottom of my post!! :)

Actually, a few reasons...
That's the SAME day as Palo brunch. (too much Palo in one day)
That's formal night and we'd rather do it with the kids....and not a double dip.
And, I'm not a HUGE fan of Palo dinner.....except for the chocolate souffle....which I can get if I can convince someone in a suite to order me some......hint hint hint hint!! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

speaking of Palo brunch...can't remember what time I have that....10:30 maybe. I REALLY need to write that down!

If you find someone to order you a souffle please get one for me - it's my favorite part of Palo dinner.

Mine too. :)

Palo dinner is good (don't want to frighten any first time cruisers into thinking they won't like it) but the meals are HUGE and it's too much of the same thing...for instance, if I order the filet, it's a huge filet and then I'm full (but never too full for souffle)....I know ppl will say "order more than one meal" but I am not one to order a bunch of food that I KNOW I won't eat. That's why I prefer the brunch, b/c I can try a little of this, and a little of that, and a lot of stollen and a lot of crab legs. ;)

Mary....On the January cruise, I found out that the warm chocolate lava cake (on the adult menu) with the vanilla creme sauce (on the children's menu) is a close substitute. :)

May just have to settle for that if I can't blackmail anyone to get me a REAL souffle....I mean if I can't CONVINCE....did I say blackmail???

Samantha - Sorry about your husband's sore ribs, trying to stifle a chuckle.

Oh, you have no idea! When Erin discovered the slide last year, he SO wanted to do it too. He's only about 150 pounds over the limit. And at the AKL, he's always in line with the kids to do the slide. Oy veh...

I try to chuckle about it, but can't help but think that I'm married to a 40-something-year-old little boy.

Ah, but I love him anyway...

How was the vodka and lemonade? I like Mike's too, but never thought of making my own. LOL!

I'm starting to think we'll be the only "dry" cabin on board... Odd, seeing as we're such wine drinkers.

--Samantha

I liked the vodka & lemonade so I picked up a 5th of vodka. I figured I could mix it with fruit punch too if they have that onboard. And cranberry juice mixed with the lemonade would probably be good too.

Stacey, glad to hear that you're somewhat ok ... I'm mean ... glad nothing's broken.

Samantha, boys will be boys. Glad your Jim is ok.

Has anyone ever tried making the Souffle from the recipe on the Castaway Club site?

Hi - still at work...Karen did not come help me...tried to post earlier...but the server said no way....say a post from Mary that Stacey had hurt her arm???

Must find out what the scoop is.....

Oh my goodness..

I hope your wrist is okay, when in doubt check it out. I will be happy to carry your drinks around deck 9 and 10 for you.

Liz

Good idea Liz...Hey Stacey, I will assist with the waving if you can get me an upgrade.... :teeth:

Tried to lay down but couldn't. My legs were twitching. And Megan called twice to see if I was okay. Typing better. Vicodin is goooood.
But I can still feel the soreness through the drugs. Where are those rainbows the Beatles used to sing about?:hippie:

My wrist matches my writing. Purple.

And my leg. That should look good in a swimsuit. Ah...a distraction...looking at ugly bruise, not fat legs.

Jared has a game and his end of baseball party. By the time I get home I will be ready to collapse.

Made the extreme sacrifice and managed to get my Banfi into my neoprene bottle holder. Not easy with TWO hands....thank you vicodin. :goodvibes

so another day that I didn't do the invoices. And I may not tomorrow. But I finally realized we are only going to be gone a week, not a month. They will still be here when I get back. Unfortunately.
