Quick cruise question... someone must know...

Is there skim milk on board, or just that "chunky whole-milk sludge" that my kids will absolutely refuse to drink???

As opposed to my dd who LOVES the fact that the deck 9 drink station has "all you can drink half-and-half." :earseek:

Found this over on the teen/tween thread from Adam (armyfam's son)

Hey guys, my mom had emergency surgery on Fri. and can't go on the cruise and we all decided to stay with her. It was nice talking to you guys. When you come back tell me all about it.

:( :( :( :( :(

something should be showing up at her door today that will hopefully make her smile. :)

We have never done the 7 day before and I have a Pirate night question.

What is the main part of the Pirate night activities? Dinner or after. Our excursion on the day that everyone assumes is Pirte night is not schedule to get back until 5:30. With early dining we may not have time to get showered and changed to make dinner. Will we miss the main part of Pirate night or are the festivities more after dinner than before? (Also, impacts about how nuts I get about packing our Pirate attire)

Thanks,

Jim

Jim,

The celebrate it in the dining room with bandannas and a special menu, but the hightlight is the deck party at nick and the buffet up there.

As for costumes - honestly about 10-15% of the people wear them. I think most are DISers or other message board folks. Not everyone gets into it and that is fine.

Sorry. but that one took every puking smiley I could find!!!!!!

My kids haven't touched whole milk since the day they turned 2... and I can't even use it my coffee... skim milk or nothing in this house! (The reason I asked, is because, on the way to school this morning, Christopher asked me, "On the cruise, are they going to have that gross milk like they have at school?"

(note to self ... and the grocery shopper ... need to by chunky milk before my sister gets here on 6/17).

Errand for Mother - check.
Flags for Cemetary for Memorial Day - check.
Dive Gear --- Nope - won't fit into the bag. We always carry it...Sam is at Wal-Mart as we speak.
Cash for tours --- Stacey, I feel your pain. I am at the bank. The line is long. I give the teller the carefully written note....She returns.....it does not add up. I give her a new note (exactly the same as the last note but somehow it now adds up). I wait....and wait....ut I do get free envelopes to put the cash in......

Now - do I need a carry-on for the wine...I was able to catch Sam, we will see what Wal-Mart had...having second thoughts about the box...

Jim - how about taking a credit card for wine????

To Mary, Stacey, Karen and everyone else -

Have a great cruise!!!! :cheer2:

and Karen, go back and have seconds, thirds and fourths at Palo brunch for me. :thumbsup2

POOL????? At the baseball stadium??

Who is the pool for???

Our stadium (thankfully, since it was 103° yesterday!) is in a dome. But the roof can either be open (mostly night games) or closed. They have the pool area, with a small pool and a hot tub, in the outfield. It's there for private parties. They have an open bar, a buffet set up, private bathrooms with showers.....pretty nice.
It's funny, 'cause the outfielders from the away teams are occasionally looking over at it, and I can't decide if they're confused as to why there's a pool there...or if they feel like jumping in!

My guess would be that they're looking there to see if there are any "hot" chicks.

Being that KT was a tiny peanut for most of her infancy, she stayed on formula until she was about 15 months old (b/c by using the powdered form we could concentrate it to 24 cals/oz instead of the standard 20 cals/oz) After she weaned off of that, the pediatrician, after speaking with a gastroenterologist, told me to give her half and half. Because that just seemed SO rich, I did dilute it...3/4 half and half, 1/4 whole milk. She was on that for several months. She definitely likes her whole milk now....although MOST of the time they have to drink skim, every once in a while I'll overlook the fact that they've snuck a gallon of whole milk in the cart!! :)

Guess if they are in the pool, they've cooled down, eh??? :lmao: :lmao:

back to my project I was working on (you know, the one that I just thought of so I could delay packing or doing anything constructive!?!?!?)

I was born 2 months preemie, in a day and age when they pretty much threw you under a lightbulb and said "Grow."...

I had an old-time pediatrician (wish he was still around for my kids- even made house calls)... he told my mother that I was NOT going to gain enough weight on the formula of the 60's... so she had to boil whole milk, skim the crud off the top, then combine it with Karo syrup... and now, 38 years later, they tell you how awful corn syrup is for you... :rotfl:

There were some pretty "interesting" gals there. Young...tiny little swimsuits. They had said when they first got there that they were going to get drunk, and they did. Ended up looking pretty stupid.

I don't wear a swimsuit, there's no way I'd be caught on TV in one. Jordan wore hers, but never took her shirt off and didn't get in the water. Jared did, though.

That's how my Mom made formula. In '58, I don't think they had a choice. But I was such an overweight baby, the doctor told her to NOT add the Karo syrup in mine. Honest. Diet baby formula. I guess I was never meant to be skinny.

This was fun to watch...they were testing the handicap lift. It goes into the pool, and even swings far enough around to get into the hot tub...which you can't really see in any of my pictures.

There are fountains along the back wall of the pool area, that go off every now and then. It's funny to see people run when they go off...the people who don't know that the fountains are even there.

Here's the "boys" chowing down.
