I know. Our group keeps getting smaller and smaller. Tomorrow is our "crunch" day - 4:30 a.m. Thursday morning we're heading south!! :woohoo:

:yay:

The plan is to head out Thurs. evening and now I'm starting to think it'll be Fri. morning at 5:00 a.m. DH doesn't want to waste $100 on a hotel for Thurs. night. And that $100 could be more money for spending on the cruise.

pixiedust: PDFG & Susan & Mowana

(typed my response and the server ate it...grrr...here's the short version)
So far the pixiedust is working for Mowana....

x-ray (see below) showed the needle
one vet wanted to wait it out and get him to pass it (high fiber food, hairball medication, etc) one vet wanted to cut him open NOW. after another x-ray to "triangulate" the position of it, the laid back vet decided to wait and see....so we got him home, gave him a bunch of petromalt and some wet food....and we have to....YUCK....go through the litter box to see if anything came out....OH, OHIOMICKEY....this one's for you!!! If nothing has happened by Thursday, he goes back in for another look see.
And, btw, he has developed a heart murmur....who knows what that means. the vet did say "if he was a high performance athlete, he'd be symptomatic now"

HE'S A CAT! :) does running and jumping count as "high performance?"

U TOP!!! Shared with Mary and the insides of my cat!!! :)

pixiedust: pdfg and Susan and Mowana!!

Dress rehearsal for the dance recital tonight ... I'll be heading out to get the girls & get them all dolled-up. I'll be sure to take pics & post later tonight. Hope we can get home before Idol starts.

Ang

btw, Mowana is STILL acting 100% normal. Forgot to add in the other post that the needle is only about 5 inches from the end point....and it's a straight shot. Vet said it has already done all of the hard 90 degree angles.

Here's hoping.....

My mom came home today!!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :yay: :yay: :yay:
She wishes you all a fun filled and magical vacation. I guess we will talk to you all when you get back. We will wave from our porch when you leave port.

Samatha, I can probably answer for ladypoo. Schools here in the south are done by this Fri. Amanda's kids were out last Fri.

So Erin doesn't go to K at the same school as 1st? Elementary schools start at K here ... some even have pre-k at the elem. schools. Emily will be in 1st at the same school she's at now.

Ang

Our schools go until early to mid-June.

Normally, K is in the regular elementary schools. But Erin missed the cut-off for K by 11 days, so that wasn't an option for us. She's been with kids up to a year older than her since she was 2 and completed pre-k last year. So we had her do private Kindergarten in her daycare. It's state-accredited, which was great. And because the local schools actually have a different cut-off for 1st grade (Dec 1, as opposed to Oct 1), she can start that in the fall.

I was actually very happy with her not doing K in the elementary school because it's half-day (and really only about 3 hours), and she's used to full-day school. So it worked out well for us.

Interestingly, the schools where I live have two elementary schools. One, called the Early Childhood Development Center, is pre-k through 1st grade. Then they go to another school for 2nd through 5th. So Erin will only be in the first school for one year. Oh well...

Dom's K graduation is early! Erin's isn't until June 16. Is she as excited about going into 1st grade as Erin is? Erin constantly wants to ride by her "big girl school" so she can see it.

--Samantha
She is excited. LOL... her big girl school is at the same place. Her Preddy-K class was in a differerent school. She is just ready to get on the Mickey boat.

If we had put Dom in private school here, and her birthday was past the cut off date she would have to have gone to the private school through the 2nd grade. Laws of some sort.

Our kindergarted is pretty much like regular school. she has to be there from 8-3 just like the older kids.

the school break down is K-3, then 4-5th, 6-8 in Jr high and then finally the huge high school 9-12. We will put her in private school for the 4 &5th grades ecause of the location of it.

:wizard:

Pixie dust for Mowana - just remember "this too shall pass" ;) and we'll be cruisin' soon!!! Here's hoping the needle will indeed pass - I'm sure a return trip to the vet will be the last thing you want to add to your list before leaving.

No dessert sharing here! In fact, I just may follow my father's family reunion rule - order dessert first - that way you always have room for dessert.

:lmao: (and in the case of a family reunion - you get the best desserts - my aunt's pies...)

Besides, I have a tradition to uphold - ordering Mickey bars off the kids' menu - with tons of sprinkles!!! Don't think the kids will be as embarrassed this time - they know to expect it! I do the same at the character breakfast - I want the Mickey Waffles!!! (But, mom you're a grown-up!!!!)

U-TOP - with my dad, my aunt and Mickey Ice Cream Bars!!!

We were looking into private schools too, until we found out that our school district has a different cut-off for 1st grade. Let me tell you, the day we found out about that, I was doing the happy dance! :woohoo:

Now if it was one of your kids - I'd definitely have said - just wait.... wasn't too sure about a cat - glad it looks like it'll be fine..... It's amazing what can pass through the digestive tract....
