5/17/03 Eastern Cruise.. Who is going?

Welcome Sweet Caroline. Some of us will be at the Radisoon Friday night. The Sailaway Party has been mentioned as well as a meet on Deck7 Aft. Don't think we ever really set a definite time and place.
But, meanwhile --comeon down. Weather is wonderful down here!!!
Can't wait to start packing!

Hi Fran,

Thanks for the welcome. I wish I were coming down the day before. We are flying down Saturday morning and our flight doesn't land until noon. I don't expect to get to the ship until 2p. Ugh! I'll keep my eyes out for all of the lime green.

Save some shrimp for me!!!!

We will be on the Magic 5/17 with a wedding crowd of about 30. Don't worry we're not rowdy... more of a family oriented crowd of all ages. (And my son in law is the minister officiating.) The groom is a fire fighter, and one groomsman a police officer, one an EMT. What a well protected cruise we all will have. Can't wait for the fun, but we don't have our documents yet! Should I worry?

Hi Granna,

How exciting for your family! Is the marriage happening onboard? We are also a large group, I think that makes for more fun. And you are right. I do feel safer knowing your crew of public servants will be onboard.

I think you should try and track down your documents. How long ago did you book? We have had ours for a couple of weeks now. But don't panic. Maybe your TA has them and just hasn't called yet. No worries!

Anyway, welcome to the boards.

F.Y.I. It is 82 degrees and sunny in St. Thomas today!

Has anyone heard about the Tropical Storm brewing. It's only the second time since the weather service started keeping records that Hurricane season has started befire June. I hope that's not a bad omen.

There is a "pre-cruise" wedding on shore and a whing-ding wedding on Thurs. I believe that's the day. I am not a family member... there are lots of friends of the couple going along. See you there!!

Ana is a subtropical storm. I think this is only the second year they started naming subtropical storms. Last I heard, Ana isn't supposed to turn into anything major. It is sustaining 40 mph winds and will miss Bermuda.

I did hear this is supposed to be a bad season for hurricanes. Let's hope it waits until June to kick into gear.

We 5 are looking forward to our Eastern Cruise May 17. We had snow here yesterday and are anxiously awaiting the warm weather. Our family DH, DD 15, DS 14, DS 10 did the 4 day Wonder back in October and just didn't get enough so booking again this May was a no-brainer!!! We are on the late seating, which we prefer. What seating are all of you on?:smooth:

SweetCaroline:

Thanks for the info. We had to cut our last cruise short because of Norwalk Virus and I was getting worried that we would get seasick due to rough seas and be quarantined to our cabins again.

What part of New Hampshire are you from? My parents and sister (& family) live in Nashua. It's a beautiful state!

granna....my friend sailed on the 3/8 magic and her nephew proposed to his fiance onboard....ordered champagne, roses, and the big cheese himself to come see the bride to be!! He surprised her out on Deck 7 aft. She was blown away!!!

Dave&Kim....glad to see you have some teens in the 14/15 age range. Our DD15 will be onboard as well. We also have DD19 and DS18. We have sailed 7 times already on DCL and can't wait until 5/17!!!! Plus, I will celebrating my Birthday on the 17th...and all week long, for that matter!!!

MJ

No, but I will be in St. Maarten for that entire week. Maybe I will see some lime green on that Tuesday when you dock there. :teeth:

We are just outside of Manchester. That isn't too far from Nashua. We are virtually neighbors!

We have late seating ourselves along with my parents.

mmouse37: Our B'Days are close together! My husbands is the 8th of May and mine is the 26th of May! :p

I can't stand it anymore, I can't concentrate at work. :o

All I think about is this cruise. :p

Granna here ,
with a couple of questions from experienced travelers...
A few of our group will really be pinching pennies, especially with larger families. One family is even considering staying on board on one of the first two ports. I guess it will be peaceful on board, but are the regular amenities open? buffets, poolside snack bars, etc? Oceaneers? I am tempted to do a morning excursion and then come back and play with grandson while his folks go ashore to shop. Can we go back and forth? I am such a newbie. help us out here. Thanks.
