5/15/2011 - Disney Dream 4nt Bahamas - May 15, 2011

One more person (2 cabins) confirmed!! Please also note one cabin dropped out. Just waiting on confirmation for one last person (2 cabins) and we'll be good to go!

Hey guys - just saw that the shuttle launch was delayed from today to Sunday... their mission is 14 days which puts their return landing on Sunday May 15th at Kennedy Space Center... if everything is pushed forward by 2 days. Not sure if the myriad of calculations required to figure everything out will change that 14 day mission to something else, but if they take off on schedule on Sunday and keep to the original plan, then they're landing just as we're all headed toward the port. Ugly ugly ugly....

Well can I just say...

crud. :rotfl:

Thanks so much for the heads up; we'll definitely keep an eye on it!

DH actually has two coworkers who traveled with their family all the way to FL to see this launch, and paid $$$ for special seating. Hate to think what's going through their minds right now b/c they're due back at work Monday!

Well I did some research and found out that you can't really get seats to view a landing at KSC so there are far less people interested in a landing than a launch... I read that there is a double sonic boom as the shuttle re-enters and then it lands, but with far less pomp and circumstance than a takeoff.

We may be okay...

I thought I saw somewhere that the launch will not happen before Monday... Hoping that's the case - or absolute wild card scenario, the launch is delayed until teh 15th - now that would be an AWESOME sail away!!!

Oh yay. That's one of my paranoia's, something falling from the sky onto me. :rotfl: Weird, I know!!

Yup, just saw that it may be pushed to Monday. I think we'll be okay anyway.

Would love to see another launch. We were on board the Magic in 2006 when they had a night launch from the cape and it was beautiful. Once in a lifetime thing - so amazing.

FE list is all updated with all participants accounted for. We are now at 29 cabins. I've updated cabin listings with as much info as I could locate in the threads and PMs and emails to me. I know some still don't have kids names and some with more than 1 cabin, I can't tell who is in which one.... but this will give you something to go on.

Finally finished my FE gifts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Or so I thought.....I forgot to make one of the family gifts for myself :rotfl:

When will we decide on a Dis meet? I can't wait to put some faces with names!

Thank you again for everything you have done for the FE and doing the website.:grouphug:

So I have been working for months to get my almost 3 year old potty trained before the cruise because I know he will hate the nursery plus him and his sister are super close and the fact that they will have to go to separate areas will not be good. However will two weeks to go he still doesn't use the potty regularly. I just don't know what to do, in undies he does pretty good at home. I feel like if I "chanced" it and put him in the club in undies he would get to busy and forget to go to the potty. I know his sister has gotten where she reminds him on regular basis, but my four year old can't be responsible for him. I have his time booked in the nursery, I am just sad for him and his sister.

My DH said he would just take him dancing at the clubs with him, which is funny on so many levels bc first under 18 isn't allowed and second we don't go dancing and haven't since we were first dating as teenagers. Yet for some reason he keeps talking like he is going to "bust a move." I just laugh. Of course he also was practicing is run to Tower of Terror last night, which is is all time favorite ride. I think he is finally getting excited.

I know that must have been a very difficult decision to make, but I think it was wise one. Neither of my boys were potty-trained until they were 3 1/2...and then it was suddenly like a light went on and there were NO accidents at all (not even bed-wetting!) It seems like girls potty-train faster than boys. I'm sure your son will not be the only child around that age there, and will find another little boy to hang with! :goodvibes Even in nurseries (I'm not sure about the cruise line), they usually have a room for "older" children, not just babies. Your husband sounds like a hoot!

How does everyone feel about a quick meet and greet on embarkation day? I made a thread on the main forums asking about good places for a group to meet - someone suggested Deck 13 forward - it is 2 decks above the adult pool - there is a bar with plenty of seating, kids are allowed and there is a non-smoking and smoking areas.

I was thinking a quick meet right after the muster drill (4:30ish) - since we are no longer required to have our life vests at the drill, there is no need to go running back to the staterooms - a quick trip up to deck 13 to say hello, and then folks can be on their way to get ready for early seatings.

It doesn't have to be a long meet - just a way for those that care to, to meet others in the group, and for kids of a similar age group to meet each other prior to hitting the kids clubs!!

Does that sound do-able for anyone?

Sail away party is 4:30 so that is definitely not a great time. Usually meets take place before the munster drill due to the party. What about a quick meet @ Currents at 3pm?

I'm open to anything - I figured no other suggestions were made, so I started the ball rolling. The spot I suggested is on deck, which is where the sail away takes place - kill 2 birds with 1 stone kinda thing...

I'm open to anything!! I would like for it to be sooner in the cruise than later tho....that way if I make a new friend, maybe we can hang out some when my DH is taking his afternoon naps. :rotfl:

what about meeting at port? usually inside on the right side is good. Look for me in a Touringplans t shirt. I forget where currents is. All I know is that my dh will be busy touring the kids clubs and nursery since you can only see them before the muster.
