4th of July

That is our plan right now is to go to MK on the 3rd and Epcot on the 4th. How is Epcot on the 4th?

Crowded, definitely. Epcot handles crowds better just because of the size. World Showcase is always packed during the fireworks - we are never people who camp out for a good spot an hour in advance. We just grab a drink and stand wherever we happen to be when they come on. It's crowded and we're prepared for it and it's never a big deal to us. We don't make a mad dash for the exit as soon as the show is over, though - that's akin to being herded like cattle. No thanks.

We watched in the grassy area behind future world as you are going into the World Showcase. Case ran around and played up until fireworks time.

Where is the best place to watch the fireworks at epcot that is closest to the exit?

Which exit? If you are going out past Spaceship Earth, watch from the bridge that joins World Showcase and Future World. If you are exiting towards the Boardwalk area, watch from the bridge past England going towards France.

We love 4th of July...we've done 7 or 8 of them at Disney. MK will be absolutely packed on both the 3rd and the 4th...though if you've never done it I recommend trying it at least once.

As for Epcot, the fireworks on the 4th of July are definitely quite busy, but it's nowhere near as nuts as MK simply because it's a much larger area physically. We were in Epcot for 4th of July 2017. I kid you not when I say we got our spot at 8:45pm for a 9:00pm show. You definitely can't do that in MK. We rode Grand Fiesta Tour around 8:20 and then went out to get our spot. Yes, there were throngs of people there already, but since the WS is so big, there is still opportunity. We found a spot right on the bridge that's nearest to Mexico heading back toward Futureworld. We were a bit limited in being able to see the lake itself, but had a crystal clear view of the fireworks, which is what we really wanted to see. They were spectacular. Considering we only had to wait 15 minutes and weren't stacked 20 deep, we were positively thrilled. Plus, since we were on the bridge, when the show was over, we were one of the first to head out.

We went 7/4 week in 2017. 7/4 was a Tuesday. We were in/around the MK both days. Watched fireworks from Poly but went to MK afterwards both nights.

In many ways, I 'felt' 7/3 was way busier crowd wise. Since 7/3 was a Monday, it almost seemed like that was the "holiday" for everyone. Since most folks have to go back to work 7/5, I think 7/4 may not be quite as attractive for locals.

Obviously just a generalization, of course.
