Hello everyone, here is my question...Do you all feel it is necessary when vacationing to WDW during the entire week of the 4th of July holiday to stay onsite so that EMH may be used?? Will it be that beneficial during this peak time at WDW??

Here's my situation....I must go during this week or not at all. There is no changing weeks, etc. I am traveling with my DH, DFIL, DMIL, and my best friend's 2 children (8, 12)...We can all stay at an offsite villa for $1200..2 bedrooms/baths, etc. BUT, I had planned on trying to make a value or moderate work for this stay to be able to take advantage of emh bc the parks will be so busy I hear... So, like I said, do you think it is better to stay at value resort (not as nice as offsite resort I priced) just to take advantage of those features? Will our trip not be as magical with staying offiste?? I haven't been to WDW since I was 6!! So, this is all new to me too but I'm trying to do my best at planning everything out so that the kids and adults alike will have the best experience possible. This is the kids first time and could be their only time unless they go with us or someone else so I want it to be a trip to remember :)

Thank you to everyone for advice or suggestions you may have!! :goodvibes

We go during the week of 4th of July every year. We have yet to use EMH. We usually go to parks the opposite day of EMH. We schedule a Crystal Palace breakfast for 8:05 on one of the days we go to MK and we enjoy that and then head to splash mountain. We have stayed onsite and off and enjoy them both ways. This year we are renting a house and staying off site. Just allow for the drivetime and parking and you should have a great time.
Just remember that you cant do everything so slow down and enjoy the moment and you will have a wonderful family vacation.

I would strongly suggest staying on-site. Not only becasue of Extra Magic Hours, but because the parks( primarily MK) can close to capacity on the 3rd and 4th of July. On-site guests will get in after they close the parks to off-site guests. Once the park is totally full, no one will get in, but staying on-site does give you a bit of an edge.

Thank you both for your input!!! I greatly appreciate the advice :) This trip is making me crazy but I am enjoying the insanity

I think you will have an amazing trip no matter where you stay! Just arrive at the park of choice at opening and you'll be fine.

We've been to Disney many times for the 4th of July. It's actually a favorite time for me! I LOVE the 4th of July fireworks show at Epcot! To me, it is NOT TO BE MISSED!!!!!

On July 3rd, we usually go to the Polynesian and have dinner there, then walk out to the beach and catch the Magic Kingdom's fireworks. Supposedly, its the same show as on July 4th. (We do not swim in the pool or use any of their pool chairs) Then, we go to Epcot on July 4th and stay for their fireworks show. It is AMAZING!!!!!

Have a GREAT trip!
