Hi folks
Anyone know if parks have anything special other than extra fireworks on 4th july as going to be there next year on that date and wondering what to get up to.
thanks :wave2:

:rotfl: does that mean that i should plan to go somewhere else on 4th july then ;)

We even found the restaurants bursting at the seams on that day so maybe try and eat earlier than you would normally do or find somewhere that you are able to book in advance.

as tartangirl says go shopping or have a day by the pool

July 4 IS a huge day at the parks, but it can be worth going in later in the day for the evening festivities. Both Epcot and SeaWorld handle the big-crowd days quite well and SW in particular has superb fireworks for July 4. However, for an alternative, head to downtown Orlando and hang out around Lake Eola for their firework show. It is still pretty crowded but there is a real buzz about the place that is more community-orientated and less theme park style. If you want to eat anywhere in particular that day, you should book up as far in advance as possible.

Everywhere you go on the 4th July is going to be pretty crowded. I personally would spend the day around the pool and head somewhere like epcot for the evening stuff, but make a ADR well in advance if your planning on going to a restaurant.

There is usually plenty of bargains to be had in the 4th July sales.......so don't forget the shops!! :flower:
A couple of years ago we also went to a local fireworks display in Kissimmee - near Lake Tohopekaliga. It was great fun - and felt like 'real USA' if you know what I mean!! Wal*Mart do a great range of 4th July goodies too if you fancy having your own wee celebration!

If I was you I would go anywhere other than the MK on the 4th of July. We were there in 2002 and OMG!! I have never seen so many people. It was literally wall to wall people, you couldn't turn around without touching someone. It truly was a memorable experience and I'm glad I've experienced what it's like to take 95 minutes to get from Main Street USA to the cark park, never again
