4th July and the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom.

I have read a few comments on where is best to watch the fireworks on the 4th of July if you dont actually want to visit the parks. We have never been in Florida on the 4th before, we either arrive the week after or go in the autumn, knowing it will be mad on the 4th we want to stear clear of the parks.

Poly resort beach is a good choice, but what other locations would be good and easy to access, we are staying on site, so have a resort ID to get into the Disney hotels??:confused3

Just so you know, the Polynesian actually has CMs that patrol the beach and remove all non-resort guests from the grounds on the 4th of July, simply because it gets too crowded. We witnessed this in 2007 and the families being asked to leave were clearly very disappointed/embarrassed. So unless you are staying at The Polynesian you might like to try somewhere else.

Wow! What if you have an ADR there - would they let you stay then?

We ate at Chef Mickeys on the 4th last year and then watched the fireworks from the end of Contemporary Resort concourse - there's a terrace outside and you can also go up the stairs to some of the floors to watch.

There's plenty of room but you need to get there about 30 mins before the start as some of the view can be blocked by the monorail track as it sweeps around and into the building.

cool sounds a good option, what sort of time did you book dinner for to coinside with finishing in time for the fireworks??
