I kinda liked the idea of going before the spring break crowds even knowing that there would be things down for refurb...but from the look of things....we're going during the busier time. I agree with looking at pros & cons for our top 2 choices that way we make a more knowledgable choice....does that make sense??

I know it still has a blockout date, and it's still spring break time, right? Just no F&W? Is there more to it?

I see both sides of the vote again debate. I guess those that voted for completely different dates, might want a chance to pick their second favorite. I'm good with whatever we do with the votes.

I don't know that there is a real benefit to those dates per se. They were just another set of dates that were chosen. They avoided a holiday, and the time change, other than that, there was no special reason. Same with the February dates and early March dates. Might be less crowded than the April dates.

Some votes are being added in manually for those who are non-DISers such as the moms, sisters, etc. so the numbers are a bit different than the poll shows. And Steph and Deb changed their vote.
I am keeping track of it all though, and will post updates now and then, both here and there. And I can post who exactly voted for what as I have that info written down as well.

Hi Capri. Hope you're feeling better, sweetie! Beth is keeping an accurate count of non-Dis board members (family, friends) who wanted to vote as well, so the numbers reflected on the poll aren't entirely accurate.

After voting, I read the vote thread and got caught up on how Bethy was keeping track of votes for the non DisBoard members and for those who changed their minds. Thanks for explaining it to me.

I'm feeling pretty bad, but I'm hoping to turn the corner to feeling better soon. I slept on the couch downstairs last night because I cough so much and so hard all the time that I didn't want to keep everyone awake all night.....again. I just want this stuff to go away. I think I went through 4 pairs of sweats yesterday because my coughing kept making me wet my pants. I started wearing maxi pads because I knew it was just going to keep happening. TMI, but there you have it. Gross huh?

I 'vote' for a second vote between the top vote getters. That way those who didn't vote for either date can pick the best available date for them, and those who hadn't considered blockout dates before voting can now take that into account.
There's really no reason to have the dates set in stone 12 mos. or more before the event. We can wait another week without endangering anyone's reservation chances.

OK, that's kind of what I was thinking. I know some were worried that the F&W might make it a little busier. I think all the added things to do will compensate for that some, and I am really good with whatever date is chosen. The thing I'd love to do at F&W costs an arm and a leg anyway. (Napa Rose Cooking school.) Maybe the dates will save me from myself!

The reality is that anymore no matter when you go Disneyland is busy. The joy of the trip is the time spent with friends. To me the setting of being at DLR is just an extra bonus.

I am all for letting the winning date stand so that people can start to do whatever they need to do in order to be free to attend. And, if it doesn't work for you to go on the major trip next year, there will be lots of opportunities for mini meets and other ways to continue to connect with the Divas.

Someone asked me who Heather and I bought our Disney pins from on ebay, it was treasuresforfamily. They (he/she??) were great! They sent them right to Hojo's since we ordered them the Saturday before we left, and even included 5 extra pins. They are definitely good! I got their name off the Dis Collectible Boards.

I completely agree that there should be a revote between the top two dates. If you count the total number of people, more people are voting against than for, so if we do a revote, it will truly be a majority choice on the dates, which is the fair thing to do.

Another thing to look at is are we going to be able to get entertainment rates at the HOJO?

Another thing to look at is are we going to be able to get entertainment rates at the HOJO?

We won't know that this far out and we cannot really wait for that info as I do have several who need to know asap.
BUT in the past Lorealle has worked with us to get a group rate and then we book at that price, then as it gets closer if the Entertainment rate comes out for our dates, we get whichever is cheaper. She's pretty good about helping with that.

Just an FYI, I found more pics on shutterfly and so I redid (again, lol) some of the front page photos. I think now everyone has a new, pretty, updated photo. Everyone is smiling and looking good. At least I think so. But as always, if anyone is unhappy with their photo, PM me and I will take it down and add a different one.

Patty - One year the ET was only available part of the trip and only some of the Divas got the rate. But Lorealle gave us a "group rate" that was only like $10 more than the ET. I remember I was part of that group. It was still a very reasonable rate.
