We just got off the Dream & heard noise throughout each night of our cruise. It ranged from kids running down the hall & random yet consistent tapping noise. Deck 5 forward location. The extended balcony was nice but we ended up with someone else's swim trunks on our balcony, Cheerios (not ours) and someone throwing a gum wrapper down as we were leaving port. Had a great cruise overall but the number of parents taking a vacation from watching their kids was disappointing.

I had cereal on my Category 4E extended balcony on Deck 5 as well (5660). I was in the aft section of the ship. When I sat out on the balcony, I stayed under the covered section with only my legs exposed. :)

I had no noise whatsoever. I thought I'd hear noise from Evolution. I believe that my stateroom was probably over the bathrooms in The District. (And no, I heard no bathroom noises!)

I sailed a forward port deck 5 4e on the Fantasy just over a year ago. We didn't find it overly noisy. Never had anything fall to the extended verandah. We actually disliked the deck 9 center aft verandah 5e we had the first time we sailed the Fantasy. So much vibration. The golf balls falling on our verandah were not fun!

Our first cruise on the Dream we were in 5150. While we loved the extended balcony, the kids thundering past the room from the elevator/stairs to the kids club at all hours was awful. Never again ;)

NoleFan - funny you should bring this up. We were on the same cruise and our VGT assignment was a 4E (5528). I really like to be high and didn't like the idea of people looking down on us either so upgraded to a 4A at the port. Loved the larger room and the round shower. Super quiet. Looks like we made the right (although expensive at $400) choice.

good choice cbnsoul ! We were in 5530. We looked into upgrading at port and decided to save the $400. We had a Family sized room 2 years ago and enjoyed the extra space. We thought the convenient location to theater, stairs to dining, and easy access to spa/pool would be good but the noise was less than pleasant. We had a blast but would not stay in that location again.

We have stayed on the 5th floor in a 4e on both the Dream and fantasy. Noise was never a problem. Things from above only happened on the Dream

Noise varies by cruise I suppose. We stayed in 7522 on the Fantasy and didn't hear a thing. We also stayed have stayed in 5516 and didn't even see anyone in the hallway near our room until the last night.

That sucks! We were 5660 on the Dream at the beginning of October (3 day) with one of the extended verandas and didn't have any of those issues!

We had the neighboring veranda door unlocked the first night (hard winds knocked it loose and it took Maintenance a couple of times to get it completely closed), and some rocking the last night- bad storms off the coast.

Noise was never an issue- not for the clubs below us, or the kids clubs on the same floor.. The only really awkward thing was moving around the crowd checking the kids in and out- and we just went up or down a level since we were near the stairs.

Could you have complained to someone? Is it normal that things land like that? My family never mentioned it and they've been active cruisers, and we've booked the same room for December 2015....

I think it was mainly loud neighbors in the halls but the noise from above not sure where that was coming from?

We were on Disney Dream in 5536 October 5-9, and encountered noise for the first time in a category 4E (5036 on Disney Dream and 5536 on Disney Fantasy on previous cruises). The second night of our 4-night cruise, it was from the 10:30 pm of the Nightmare Before Christmas Sing and Scream showing in the Walt Disney Theater. Since there had never been a late night show in the WDW Theater on previous cruises, we chalked this up as a one-time annoyance. However, on the next night, we could clearly hear and feel the soundtrack of the 10:30 pm Guardians of the Galaxy showing in the Buena Vista Theater, which was easily 8 cabins and a bank of elevators aft. We called to complain, but it was on no use, until the next day when they offered to move our cabin for the last night. We chose not to move for one-night, and we did not hear anything that last night as the 10:30 pm was a more docile one. In the future we maybe upgrading to a 4B or 4C on the newer ships to avoid this issue and still have the bigger cabin.
