Just booked my airfare for our May trip. Wanted to fly into Santa Anna airport and just take the DLRE, but the airfare into Long Beach airport was (and has been since I've been tracking airfare for months) so much cheaper. I know the taxi's at the airport will do a flat-rate $45 to get to DLR, but will they also do the $45 flat-rate when we need to take the taxi BACK to the airport on our departure day?

They should. Also check with your hotel they may have coupons or be able to recommend a taxi service.

In Long Beach, the city sets flat rates from the airport for the taxis. When you're going back to the airport, you're starting in Anaheim, so Long Beach can't really regulate that. You can ask for a flat rate, but they may decline and use the meter.

Yes, not the same taxis...on the way back to LGB you are using Anaheim taxis. Sometimes they will give a flat rate of around $50. You must discuss this option with the driver in advance. The DLR hotels have a voucher at guest services for the flat rates to the different airports and other places as well.

This might work.....we're staying at the Best Western Stovall's on the first night, then Paradise Pier for our 5 park days. Hopefully guest services there will have the vouchers. I'm a chronic planner, so I like to know in advance how much the taxi's going to cost. Thanks everyone!

We took taxis to and from LGB, and I know we payed a flat rate both ways. It may have been more expensive on the way back to the airport but I don't remember the exact amount, maybe $55 at most.

We also took flat-rate taxi's from
LGB to the GCH and back. I also think the return trip was about $55 flat-rate. I combined that savings with the airfare savings and being able to check our first piece of luggage for free, and flying in and out of LGB on Jet Blue has been cheaper than SNA for the past several years - from PDX anyway. :)

The flat rate from the resort hotels to LGB is not great. I think it's $55 which is probably higher than you'd pay on the meter. Their flat rate to SNA, on the other hand, is a very good deal at *I think* $32.

Yes, you tip on the flat rate.

FYI rental cars maybe cheaper. We rented a car from Dollar for $52 for 4 days earlier this month. This was from SNA, but maybe LB is similar.

We just asked the taxi coordinator at SNA and told him we would pay $35.00 flat rate to DLR, has worked for the last 3 times.

We just asked the taxi coordinator at SNA about going rates, and told him we would pay $35.00 flat rate to DLR, has worked for the last 3 times.

Hm.....is there an echo?

;)

We always fly into Long Beach and use the flat rate to and from the resort. Both ways have been $45 (we stay at DLH). And yes, with the flat rate, we still tip. ;)

That sounds like a great price, but $52 was cheaper for us than $35 each way and we had the use of the car to go to the beach one day!
