My best friend (of 35 years - we met in kindergarten!) and I are turning 40 this year. We've planned to spend our 40th birthdays at Disney in September!

I would love to surprise her with matching T shirts. As kids, we were known as Si and Am from Lady and the Tramp. Her name starts with S and mine with A, and we've called ourselves Si and Am since elementary school (and we still use these nicknames to this day).

I've searched the DISigner's threads and haven't seen anything in particular made for Si and Am. I found this clipart through a link in the post:

http://www.disneyclips.com/imagesnewb/imageslwrakr01/val34.gif

I'd love to have a shirt using this image of Si and Am! I'd love for it to say:

Si and Am (maybe across the top of the design)

40th Birthday Celebration (maybe across the bottom of the design)

I don't have any preference of fonts, just something easy to read! And I'd like for us to have our "cat names" on the backs, so "Si" written alone and "Am" written alone for each of our backs.

I don't have a creative bone in my body, so I'm not dead set on the way the text works with the photo or anything. I'm open to any suggestions.

Thank you so much for checking out my request!

The link to Si & Am doesn't work?:confused3 Also, if you just put the names on the back, they will be very difficult to cut out. Why not have them in a Mickey Head? Much easier to cut out. :goodvibes Penny

Hi Penny! Not sure about the link.. it works for me? :confused3 Not sure if it's ok for me to try to hotlink (I think that's the right word) the image into my message or not, but if that's ok then I'll try!

You're exactly right, it would be MUCH easier to have the names on the back in a Mickey Head! I hadn't even thought of how hard they would be to cut out!

Should I try to link the actual Si and Am image into a post?

Feel free to quote anything you want. I don't care about quotes, in fact i prefer them. thanks, P
here's a clip that i have, however, it isn't 8.5x11 so I had to stretch it out, so the cats are at the far side of either end so it will have to be a skinny frame. I will wait to see your clip art. P:goodvibes

Ok let's see if I can get this to work:

I have no idea what size this is. I just found it on the disney clips link in one of the sticky posts in the forum. What do you think? :)

How about this. Si & Am clip art from above with
Si & Am
40th Birthday Celebration
the dates of your trip between the two cats.
On the back of your shirt
Mickey head with Si
Mickey head with Am
Mickey head with both, one saying Si & the other saying Am

I went looking and found some more clipart. Check it out here

What I could do for another day is use one of the other pictures and add the same wording? All the clip art I found yesterday is uploaded to the file above, there wasn't much. :confused3
I won't get to this weekend as I have some other DISigns to do and I want to try out a tutorial I was sent. Plus I want to do a Wedding DISign I have been thinking of. So please either IM me or bump this post next weekend. :goodvibesPenny:flower3:

Not sure what is going on, but, if this helps, I don't see any pictures at all...maybe it's this site that is having problems:(

I just tried the link and it worked? Hopefully it's fixed now. :flower3: Penny

Please see the post above and let me know what you decide on. I listed many options (I can't help it, that's who I am :rotfl:). I will check back in this weekend. P:goodvibes

Hi Penny! I hope you're doing well. I've been thinking about the shirts a lot and I'm just really in love with my original image. I've put it in a photobucket of my own so hopefully this image will work:

I hope you can work with this image and the wording 40th Birthday Celebration.

I love your idea for the back of the shirts with the Mickey heads with Si,
Am, and then one with both.

I do really like #4 in your photobucket - the one that has Lady and Tramp as well as the cats. If you had time to do another image we could use for another day, I'd love to see what you could do with that one! I'd use Mickey heads on the back of that one too.

Thank you so much!:flower3:

This image is very easy to work with. Not a problem. I will do sometime this week. I will post by Saturday. Take care, P:flower3:

Here's one of them,

If these aren't what you are looking for, feel free to bump up your request and I am sure someone else will help you. :goodvibes
Penny

Oh WOW Penny these are awesome! I cannot express how happy I am with them! My friend is gonna flip!

I do have a question. I know I save these to my computer, then print them on the transfer paper to iron them on. I've never done anything like that before so I was wondering how do I know what size the image will be before I print it? Does that make sense? Like, do you ( and most designers ) design them in a standard size for a t shirt? Or do I need to use some type of program to change them to a different size before I print them?

Usually, your transfer will print 8x11, the size of the transfer sheet. It will leave an area to cut around.

OK, Your question prompted me to finally post the directions I updated a month ago.:lmao: They never post well when you are reposting so I had to do a lot of "cleaning up". But they are now done. You can find them in the FAQ section, post #13.:flower3:

NoahDove is correct. Most DISigners make their Shirt DISigns 8.5 x11. Now the Mickey Heads obviously aren't 8.5 x 11, more like 8.5 x 10 (or there abouts). If you print them on 8.5 x 11 paper, you will have some white at the bottom. I use that space for the name tags I put on my sleeves and my avatar for pin trading. :thumbsup2

Remember to print a draft black & white copy on regular paper to make sure it is the right size.
I learned the hard way the first time :scared: I did this. :rolleyes1
