40 something days out and still soo much to do

I have not bought tickets, transport from airport, and no clue what we are doing for food or made any room requests. I have not even mentioned that it is my birthday weekend, we go home Sunday night and my birthday is Tuesday so technically I won't be there for it cuz the kids have school.

In the 40 something days I have left, I have to buy my stuff, figure out whether I should mention my birthday on the ressie and where to call to do that. also trying to figure out what kind of room i'm getting since I booked it with DVC points at DLH and DVC site just says premium..... whatever that means.

I also have to help my mother recover from her aneurysm, deal with my ex filing for custody of my DD14 and wait for a court date to be announced and a guardian to be appointed. DD14 start high school and field hockey 5 days a week practice til school starts. Plus my DH has been called about possibly another job that could move us 5 states away or across country but we on't know anything for at least 6 weeks from now and then court again to get my DD to be able to move with us. Can't/Won't cancel the trip as we are already about $2,000 into it.

Ugh !!!

Anyone ever stayed at DLH on points ? What kind of room ? What kind of view ? I need something to distract me from all the swirl going around me. 1st time, should I have called/be calling for any special dining. no specific idea's and we are okay with QS all day if we have to. Give me something to focus on please with all this waiting around for me.

Do you know where you want to eat? If you do, you can call Disney Dining. Get the number off the Disneyland website. They ask if you are celebrating anything special. But if they don't, I'd still mention it. DH got a free beignet at Cafe Oreans on his Bday.

You can always wait to buy tickets and buy them online just in case any deals come out. With online tickets you take your printed paper to the turnstyle (not the ticket booth) and they will give you the real tickets there. Very easy.

We aren't DVC members so can't help with that. Good luck with your schedule!

don't have anything particular I want to try out there. My WDW vacations are usually planned down to the rides and I just don't feel like I can do that at DL. Just so much going on in between.

It seems like it's harder to plan DL than WDW. our favorite restaurants at WDW are Le Cellier in Epcot and Boma. We love some good steak and also buffets with flavor.

DL really doesn't do buffets like WDW. Goofy's Kitchen does a character buffet all day in the DLH. Both PPH and GCH have character buffets at breakfast only. I enjoy the Plaza Inn's breakfast with Minnie and Friends(buffet) in DL. In DCA Ariel's Grotto has a family style brunch.

DLR also has family style BBQ with a show in the Big Thunder Ranch BBQ.

I like the filet with lobster at Blue Bayou.

You don't really need to plan out everyday at DLR. We just came back from DLR and the only res we made was for Cafe Orleans and we made that about a few days in advance. Steakhouse 55 is very good and is at the DLH. Napa Rose is also said to be very good but I've never been. I liked Big Thunder Ranch but the show is not anything special. Nothing at all like your big Hoop De Doo. Just a few cowboys and cowgirls singing a few songs and getting some kids up to sing. We liked the all you can eat food though.
