40% off select nights/resorts in 2007

akl standard water or pool view - 230/250
40% off = 138/150
+Tax = 155.25/168.75.

Looks like you got 40% off and I think that's the bunk bed rooms???

Yes, he said pool view w/bunks

Should I go for it? Hmmm 5 nights at POP or 4 nights at AKL?

And, yes the price is with taxes.

I'd say, are you willing to give up a whole day of vacation to stay in a nicer hotel? Do you as a family spend much time at the hotel? I think 4 days at WDW would be a marathon for our family, ya know, just trying to fit everything in. But if you go there alot then it's no big deal.----p.s.--- I love the picture of your boy with Stitch---Too Cute!

This is my understanding of the Boardwalk incident according to the Guest Services person I spoke today. There was computer glitch that allowed you to book a $700 SUITE for $0 if you purchased a one(1) day park ticket. GS said that this is a case of a obvious mistake that people tried to use. Why would WDW give away a suite? They did revoke the reservations that did this. She also said they also did not have enough suites to honor the reservations and that was another reason why it was revoked.

Just to correct some facts. I'm one of the people who booked the infamous Boardwalk "special deal" back in September. If this guest services person actually said they didn't have enough suites, then she is contradicting what they told us. They said we never booked a room at all and just purchased a ticket. Yes, it was an error - it was for one of the garden suites. The way it happened, if you put in your dates on a 1-night basis, it showed the garden suite category as a negative amount (similar to when you pull up availability for a deluxe and it shows the more expensive room categories and you can change to the less expensive - which show up as negative amount until you select them and update the quote). We had to book individual nights and select the number of ticket days - this was booked as a package.

In doing so, it showed the full payment due for each night's package as under $200 (can't remember the exact amount). Most of us paid for each reservation in full and hoped they would honor the reservations per their terms & conditions which said rates were not guaranteed until paid in full. We also hoped that they would honor it as other hotels and airlines have done in the past when people booked obvious error rates. Even one of the Downtown Disney hotels had a mistake rate and honored it. Sadly for us, they started contacting those holding reservations. It was a big fiasco and many tried to hang on to their reservations. Our email confirmations said it was paid in full and so did the online reservation system. I was told that we only purchased a 1-day ticket even though my confirmation said it was for a package and showed the room type and requests (non-smoking, etc.). I was given the choice of canceling or paying the correct amount. Others had their reservations altered without being given the choice. I chose to cancel so I could get my money back ASAP.

I'm not going to argue about if this was the right thing to do or not. When all this happened, many criticized us (aka the bottom feeders) for trying to get the rate. I booked it because I was curious if they would honor it after seeing what the airlines and other hotels have done in similar situations. I figured I had nothing to lose since it was fully refundable. I received all of my money back and am satisfied with that. However, after this experience, I would NEVER book another obvious mistake rate or try to book a pin code rate without having the pin. It's not worth it worrying if they'll honor it or not. Just because you have a printed out confirmation or have paid in full does not mean they have to honor it. At least by Disney.

Just my two cents - I could care less about the "special deal" now - I'll be at the Poly in less than a week!

How long did it take them to contact you about their mistake at BW?

I booked it on 9/19 and was contacted and canceled on 9/26.

So if anyone gets a call from Yolanda - watch out!! :rotfl:

I am so confused about these codes and pins and free dining plans:headache:

I booked through Small World Vacations and I am very happy with the TA. It's my first time staying on site and our first trip to WDW as a family. We are staying at the WL and used AAA discount for room only.

The travel agent notified me that a code came out awhile back but our discount was still better.

I received an email for Disney Destinations with a pin number but it was for 30% off Value Resorts during dates that don't coincide with our stay in May.

Should I give my TA this pin# and see if she can get us a better deal?

What is up with the free dining? Do you have to purchase a package to get this?

I am sorry if this has been stated or asked before. There is SOOOO much information here I keep getting lost in the threads :upsidedow

Tried to use this code last night on existing ressie at ASMo for Sept. Told it wasn't available at the resort or maybe all the allotted rooms were gone.

Called today, thinking I could change to a resort where it was available. CM told me that it is a pin code and when I asked if she could see if I had any codes attached to my name, she couldn't look that information up. : ( Tried to contact marketing department but no one seems to know how to get through to the powers that decide who gets pin codes and who doesn't. Transferred 9 times and no one seemed to know how to get to marketing. Maybe they don't have a telephone? Finally, got to marketing. Person I need to speak with is not in. Will call me back. We'll see.

That CM wasn't telling you the truth! She can see right on the screen in front of her whether or not a pin is attached to your name. Good luck getting a call back from marketing!

didnt the boardwalk glitch get blocked out after only a day of us trying to access it? Of course that very well may have been an easier thing for them to stop. by the time i even saw the post about it it had stopped being available.

OK but where did you get the codes??? I have the PIN card, but don't have the codes to see if my PIN is avialable to those codes. I want to travel in early MAY, am I outta luck? I tried today with my Postcard which only has like 10 different weeks on it. So I guess I am out of luck. Are these codes that need pins- posted anywhere? I did try for one code that I saw in a post and she said it was good for my dates and was able to quote me a rate, but I didn't think anything about this price was discounted. She did say that this code is a package deal. I only need a room only deal since we have tickets from a previous trip. Can anyone tell me the code that needs a pin for just a room only??? And are these codes different from the Email PIN I got in the postcard I received?

I am so confused. I just would like a 40% off room code for May.

Thanks!

The only thing available for early May (as of now) is a ticket upgrade to a park hopper with water parks and more. None of the room only or package discounts for 30-40% off being sent through email and on postcards are applicable for early May.

Ok,wait..Are you telling me this 40% off of the hotel rate and can make it a package and add dining to my reservation?

Yes, I think so. I was frazzled just trying to book each night before they yanked it! Then I double booked one of the nights and forgot one. DOH! Didn't matter in the end... :rotfl: I didn't even know what a garden suite was until I booked it!

I wonder what would have happened if just the first few people who found out booked it and didnt share the info....I wonder if they would have gotten there to be told no sorry I know it says "bwi garden suite, however that isnt actually on your reservation you only reserved a one day ticket. We have no room for you unless you cough up the extra hundreds of dollars"

Ok,wait..Are you teling me this 40% off of the hotel rate and that I can add dining to my resservation?

Yes. If the code works for your household. It is 40% off the hotel rate. You may add the dining AND tickets to the reservation.

Well, I spoke with 1 CM before being contacted by Yolanda (I had to contact them because of me messing up the nights booked). At first she was all excited for me and said everything looked great - how neat it was that I found the great deal. Then she looked at what I actually had booked and realized it was a mistake rate, and told me that the people who booked it would be in for a big surprise when they checked in and owed more $$. She ended up putting me through to a supervisor who ended up telling me not to cancel, but hold out for an offer from Disney in exchange for canceling. Ha! That didn't happen!

Oh Happy Happy!..I have never used the DP because I am an AP holder... I won't renew my AP this time and try the DP..I'm SOOOOO happy!

Yes! I just switched from POP to AKL! Pool view, bunk beds, 4 day hoppers, and dining...$1780!! The room itself is about $90 off/night!
