40% off select nights/resorts in 2007

Well, I spoke with 1 CM before being contacted by Yolanda (I had to contact them because of me messing up the nights booked). At first she was all excited for me and said everything looked great - how neat it was that I found the great deal. Then she looked at what I actually had booked and realized it was a mistake rate, and told me that the people who booked it would be in for a big surprise when they checked in and owed more $$. She ended up putting me through to a supervisor who ended up telling me not to cancel, but hold out for an offer from Disney in exchange for canceling. Ha! That didn't happen!

....and I (and at least a few others) called CRO and questioned this rate, before paying in full, and were told we got a great deal, and have a magical trip. They confirmed the resort, room type, and tickets...and the price did NOT work out to tickets-only...it was a little bit more. And the DISboards were quoted to us, btw. I booked a day or 2 after it was posted here, btw.

I hope everyone who booked this 40% off thingy get to keep it -- but be prepared, just in case. WDW knows they will sell the rooms regardless.

Ok, I'm not even sure if I know what deal everyone is talking about, but I thought I'd let people know what I just found out. First I would like to say I'm new to all of this, this is my first trip to Disney in 11 years.

This morning I saw a 3 letter code on another thread that was about 40% off room rates. I didn't even know if it was a package or room only rate (remember I'm new to all this). So I called to see if I could apply it to my reservation. I didn't have a pin, didn't know if I had a pin attached to my name, just called and said "I heard about this code *** and wanted to see if I could apply it" I had to add one day on to the beginning of my stay (because Thanksgiving week wasn't included, but the Friday before was and apparently as long as one day falls within the dates, you get the discount for the whole stay). So I got this incredible deal (and I used it with a package, tickets and dining) and was the happiest person I knew all day. Until I got home and got on the DIS boards. When I started reading about how people have gotten calls and had offers taken away when they didn't have a pin (remember, I didn't know what I was doing when I booked)

So I called Disney and the guy told me code *** is a general code for anyone to use and the savings is up to 40% off. I hung up, thought "what if he doesn't know what he is doing' called back, got a different women and she said the same thing "code *** is a general code and anyone can use it, is up to 40% off "

So, I'm not sure if this is the code people are talking about, but that is what two CM's have told me and the third one booked my reservation this morning using it.

Okay, I don't have a code or a pin number, but I tried anyway. I told the CM that I'd heard about a new offer coinciding with the Wonderful Weeks of Disney, and had a "friend" (lol) that booked a room rate of 40% off.

He had no clue what I was talking about, and then when he went to check for a pin code attached to my account, he couldn't find me in the system!! OMG! I've been there twice in less than a year and I'm now an AP holder, but somehow I'm not in their system so no pin for me. :sad1:

He said he hadn't heard of a general code at all, but could do $329.95 on the Poly for my dates (9/23-10/1). Umm..... nah. At that rate we'll take AAA!

Anyway, just wanted to let you know that I tried and it didn't work for me. Hope someone else has better luck! And if anyone knows what the code is/was, PM me and I'll try to call back with that and see if it works!

Just talked to a CM. Told me she cannot look to see if a pincode is attached. Wound up being transferred to Guest Services. Was told that that was untrue and that I have no code attached to my name. Questioned about the infamous public code and she said there is not a public code available right now that gets 40% off a room rate and that maybe I'll be lucky enough to receive and email or postcard, but that it's completely random and that I shouldn't trust what is being said on a website that is not a sanctioned Disney website. :rotfl:

And it continuespopcorn::

They still can't get their stories straight over there. After we are all sure our deals go through, I am really thinking of complaining to Disney about the different stories received by CM's.

The cm told me that they don't know if you have a pin code until they do a reservation. They offered to do a fake reservation and they saw that I had one for Jan-Feb.:confused3

I already have a reservation for 9/8-9/18, so if I had a code, it should show up.

Thanks! I wanted to make sure there isn't another code I am missing. OF course, now I am confused because I did grab a code off the boards (It begins and ends with the same letter) and she said that would work for my dates in early may. It however was a full package with Tickets, hopper and waterparks and dining. Now again I did not think the cost represented any kind of savings, so I am guessing this is just a variation of the code that is for the Free hopper and dining from 4-15 to 6-2. Although it wasn't the same letters listed on the main board for the GP code. Those codes don't help me because I really only want a room only code.

SO there is NOT a room only code for 40% off rooms anywhere except for those limited dates on the postcard. Is that correct??? Thanks!

I called with the code I found on this board and it does not require a pin.
I couldn't us it because it doesn't begin until August 26th. I think it is the same one you have because it is for a full package. I was so excited until got the dates.:sad2:

This morning I called and was able to book a trip using it and was told by the CM that you don't have to have received an email or letter, you just have to know about the code. I asked a few times during our conversation if it was a public code and she said yes, you're fine. So, here's hoping that it is fine because I am soooooo excited to be staying at the CR. We wouldn't have been able to afford it without the 40% off. I'm wondering if there are multiple codes available or just one?

I'm soooo upset. I check the dis everyday for any mention of general codes and yesterday I decided to paint the living room and missed the whole thing!!!!! Could someone PM me this "general public code"?? I would like to give it a try.
Thanks!!!

I am new to the boards here and was lurking yesterday reading this thread and wrote down a few of the codes before people deleted them from their posts. I told the CM that I belong to a Travel Club. And other people in my travel club received a discount, and you think that your discount email got deleted. I never mention DIS. I don 't want to bring unwanted heat to this board. I call my travel club, The Pixie Dust club. I told them it's just a group of friends.

The public code is not a room only rate. You must book a package with dining and at least base tickets. I spoke to 2 different people and 1 of them even called guest services to be sure and to get the dates for me. ( I didn't want to be excited for nothing, which I was.) There are various dates throughout the year into Dec. I only checked on the August dates because that is when I am going. It does't stat until Aug 26th.

Oh yes, but let's trust their word when their employees keep giving us different stories. :rotfl:

Not true. There is indeed a different public code for room only. I booked it! (as have many others)

If you're referring to the 40% room only code that people are using, that's a pin code, not a public code. The only people who've been able to get the 40% off room only were people with these codes. The code in question that's being debated whether it's pin code or public is the three letter code that's a package deal. Now the code still gives the 40% off room rates, but it is not a room only deal, it's a package deal. The room only deals that are currently being booked are being done by people who have pin codes.

Is that a book by 8/21, because I booked mine on 1/23 for
October. That's 40% off a room with dining & base tickets.

My ressie is for a package with 11 nights with dining and 10 day park hoppers for 2 adults and 2 children in September. So I should qualify, if it's a public code, but I do not.
