Day 8, Wed 2/21, another great day, upper 70's
Sleepy & Happy decided to get up early for early entry for MGM. After they had taken off, Doc & I decided to get moving and head over to Epcot. We got there at 8:50 and I was looking forward to seeing the opening of the park; but it had already opened, so we walked right over to Test Track and got fast passes. We then did the singles line, which only had 2 other people in the briefing room; then when the door opened there was no one in the singles line at all. So we were able to walk right on. After that, we were 10 minutes from our fast pass time, and the CM's let us go right in.

We decided to go over to the other side of Future World, and on the way we stopped and got a breakfast bagel, which we shared, and enjoyed the fountain show while we ate. Then we walked over and did Honey I Shrunk the Audience which is so much fun. I love sitting towards the back and listening to the screams as the mice "run" past everyone's legs. The screams gradually get louder and closer. It would kind-of remind you of a "wave". :) After that, we went to The Land, and rode the Land boat ride which Doc had never ridden & it had changed since the last time I rode it. We also watched the Circle of Life movie which I always try to see because I really enjoy it. Then, we went next door to the Living Seas, which has also changed since the last time I saw it. What happened to the movie? <IMG SRC="/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif" alt="confused">

As we left the Living Seas, we walked by an ice cream cart, and I just had to get a Goofy bar, and Doc got a Nestle Crunch bar. We ate these as we headed to the bus stop to catch a bus to MGM. The bus was right there and before we knew it, we were at MGM. We did Sounds Dangerous, got fast passes for Little Mermaid; then watched the Hunchback of Notre Dame. We went back and did Little Mermaid, which I think is a really cute show. We were very tired, and MGM was crowded, so we decided to take the bus back to OKW. Unfortunately, we had a long wait at the bus. We decided we would take a nap at our room. We walked in, and there were Sleepy & Happy sound asleep. They had gotten back about 20 minutes before us and were very tired. They had ridden R&R 4 times, done the Animation tour, saw Hunchback & Little Mermaid (under Sleepy's protests); and gotten pictures with Buzz, Woody, Pooh, Tigger, Eeyore, and Pinocchio. Well, I couldn't fall asleep … I kept thinking about that sunshine outside. So Doc and I decided to go to the pool. We enjoyed the hot tub and visiting with other guests. 2 hours later, we went back to the room, and Sleepy & Happy were still sound asleep! We had planned to go to the ESPN Club for supper, so we told them to get up, and we all got ready and headed to the Boardwalk. We took that "wonderful boat" to DD, and then took the bus to the Boardwalk.

The Boardwalk is so pretty, and I love going there. We had a short wait at ESPN, but got a table right up front. While there, they had a live show with the guy that handles recruiting players from the New Orleans Saints. We had a great meal, Doc & I split a Caesar salad --- they put it on 2 plates, and just charged us for side salads. Doc & I both got burgers; Sleepy & Happy got chicken.

After enjoying our time there, we headed over to the International Gateway, where I called my mother; then we headed back to the same viewing spot we'd had the other night for Illuminations, Reflections of Earth. The kids hadn't seen it yet; and Doc & I wanted to see it again. There were more people this time, but it was still great. As I sat on the sidewalk with Doc & the kids, I felt so happy to be sharing this great show with them. I was so happy we were all together & enjoying ourselves & each other! It was the best warmest feeling. :) Because it was windy, we did experience the smoke and ashes that I have heard about, but we didn't let it bother us! After the show ended, we decided to walk back to the Boardwalk, instead of facing the throngs out front of Epcot. Doc and I almost took a taxi back to OKW, but the price went from $7 to $10 before we even got in the cab, so we changed our minds. The kids were going to DD to do some shopping - the bus to DD pulled in at the same time we were considering the cab, so we got on the bus; then had to wait for a LONG time again at the OKW bus stop at DD. (The boats to OKW stop at 9:40.) Lots of people waiting were really getting mad. A "Special" bus pulled in, and a supervisor told the driver to take care of us. Finally, we were on our way back to OKW. We picked up a few things at the General Store, and then headed to our room. Unbelievably, Sleepy & Happy came in 20 minutes after us --- and they had done shopping at DD!

Tomorrow: Our last day :(

I have always run into Bus trouble from DD - no matter what resort we stayed in. I just had to learn not to freak out about it. We stayed in DxL last time so the boat ride was a nice change. Thanks for the reports - looks like they are coming to an end.
