4 plus 3 free deal - ticket questions

Not sure if this is the right forum for these questions.....

I booked the 4/3 deal for July. I just called to make my final payment and the CM asked if I wanted to upgrade our tickets (we have 7 day no hop). I told her no that I was going to upgrade to park hopping when I got there. She told me that I couldn't do this. Since it was a special promotional rate, I had to upgrade prior to check in ONLY. I told her I would have to call back b/c I planned to use Reward Dollars and hadn't ordered the cards yet. So...my questions: 1. Is this info accurate b/c I could have sworn when I originally booked that the CM told me that I COULD upgrade my tickets when I got there. and 2. Can I use Reward Dollars to upgrade? This CM said yes but I wanted to double check.

I'll wait for your answer as well because I planned to upgrade when we got there too with my disney reward dollars. I booked through AAA and I don't think I can do the upgrade by calling myself. AAA has to make the changes since they hold the reservation.

I'm pretty sure you can upgrade once you have used the tickets to enter the parks at least. It seems I have heard this many many many times on this board. You may have to upgrade at guest services inside the first park you visit to take full advantage.

I'm sure others with greater experience can confirm or deny this

When I went in January with the 4/3 deal, I upgraded a ticket to park hopper at the hotel with no problem.

ChesireFigment, who works in ticketing, has been on these boards tellling people that the 4/3 ticket is just like any other. Perhaps you could PM him and ask him to respond on this thread?

My family went on the 4/3 deal in February. The CM at check-in asked if we wanted to upgrade to hoppers or add water parks. She also said that if we change our minds that we can upgrade at any time during out trip.

I'm on the same package and have asked two different CM's before I paid the balance and they both said yes - I could upgrade anytime.

I was there May 9th-16th with a friend. Because we wanted different tickets, we had just one day base MYW tickets added to our pkg. Our first day we went to Epcot guest services and I upgraded to an Annual Pass, while she upgraded her one day ticket to an 8 day MYW. There were other people in front of us who were upgrading their tickets also. I didn't hear any of them having any trouble.

No trouble whatsoever. . .easy as pie and they can do it at the resort or at guest services at any park or DTD.

From what I have read on here there seems to no problems doing it when you are there. I keep reading to do it after you have used it at least once, you get the full gate value.
