Anyone ever hop to all 4 parks in one day. I was just thinking of trying to hit all the "thrill rides" in all 4 parks in one day so my mother could stay in the room with my 2 little ones while DH and I take DD9 with us to ride. Is this possible. Assuming we start early, maybe even start at whatever park has early EMH that day. Is this crazy? How about if we wanted to do all this and then go back to the room to get them, back to Disney Studios for dinner & Fantasmic? BTW, the rides we would be trying to hit would be : Everest, TOT, RnRC, BTMRR, SplM, SpcM, MS,and TT. TIA

I would say that is a little crazy and probably impossible to do. Some of those rides take a long time to get on, especially if there are no more fast passes available for them. This is just my opinion of course.

My opinion is that you will be spending half of the day on Disney transport or driving from park to park.

Also, if you get to a park by the early afternoon, that ride my have a fastpass return of 7pm and a standby line of 90 or more minutes.....

Not worth it in my mind, but to each their own!

Have fun

It would be a long day but, if you have given yourself the day....I think you could pull it off. Alot of it depends on what time of year you are going and what the crowds will be like. FP probably won't come into play a whole lot for you since you won't want to spend much time in each park. The best use of FP would probably come at MK where you would be doing multiple rides. As far as TOT and RNRC at MGM....I would hit those end of day....during fantasmic if possible....the lines drop way down and I have gone back and forth between those with little or no wait many times that time of day.Good Luck. :wave2:

I think it would be fun to look at it as a challenge! It looks like you're going in the fall and I think its do-able as long as everyone is up for doing it like a mission/race/challenge. DH and I did a pin "quest" a few years ago where we hit all 4 parks plus Wide World of Sports and DTD in the same day. We had a rental car, I don't think relying on Disney transportation would allow enough time to do it. It was fun! Granted, we weren't actually going on attrations but it didn't take us all day either.

I think you'll have fun if you set out with the mind set that it is going to be a completely different day than normal theme park touring.

Good Luck!

This sounds great, good luck and report back if you do it.
We are going in October to POR maybe see you. :thumbsup2

I guess it's possible - crazy :crazy2: but possible. As dudspizza said I see one of the major obstacles being all the time wasted on Disney Transportation.
I have been in Oct many times and the crowds are not as lite as they use to be...I would even say that it approaches average levels. That being said the other obstacle I see is using Fast pass to your advantage. I have seen all the FP's given out for Test Track by 11:30am in Oct - and then you are left with a 90 minute wait. I would carefully plan your stategy keeping this in mind. Rides that have a notoriously slow line like TT you will need to plan to hit first.
Let us know how you make out! - Good luck :thumbsup2

You could TOTALLY do it in October!

Start at MK first thing in the morning. You should start here because it's the farthest park. FP SpcMtn. and jet over to complete SplMtn. & BigTMtn. Go back and do SpcMtn. Those three rides won't take up much time since it's first thing in the morning.

Take the monorail to Epcot, FP TT and ride Mission Space. Go back and do TT.

Bus it to AK next because that park closes earliest. FP Dinosaur and then head to ExpEverest. Go back to Dinosaur.

Head back to the resort, pick up the rest of the family and head to MGM. If the park isn't that busy, ride BEFORE dinner. You could do ToT and RnR while your younger children do the Great Movie Ride, Muppets 3D or watch one of the stunt shows.

Eating is another story!!!!!

Gosh, I sure wouldn't try it, but that's me. It would put me in such a "hurry, hurry, hurry" mindset that I wouldn't be able to enjoy myself. It does take time to get from place to place, plus you would have to wait in line for quite a while (even if you're able to get fast passes, having to wait until your return time windows open up would delay you quite a bit).

You mentioned you're going in October - the parks are not open very late that time of year, so even if you take advantage of EMH, the park hours will limit you a lot.

My recommendation would be to decide which rides are "musts" and try to go to two, maybe three parks if you must, but not to try to do them all.

It won't hurt to try it - worse case scenario is you don't get it all done.

If you had to skip a park, I'd skip MK. You could visit MK another day with the entire family, but easily split up and have both parties well entertained by the variety of rides and attractions there.

KristinU, that's exactly how we're looking at it...like a challenge. I figured even if we don't make it, we'll have a blast trying right?

larsson7, You might see us or just feel 3 quick burst of wind going past you :teeth:

Do you all think it would be better to drive or use Disney trans. We'll have our car because we're driving from NJ(see we really are crazy) so we could go either way.

Yep, I'd definitely drive. I see in your family pic that you have matching shirts - I'd take this all the way and make shirts for your quest and even make a little check list on them or something!

Uh oh, you've planted a seed - we're meeting up with my parents in September at WDW and I'm thinking that my DS and my mom could have a "grandma and me" day whild my DH and my dad and I try your challenge! Maybe we could call it the SHULTZFIVE Challenge or something! :thumbsup2

I'm always up for a good challenge. I think it could be done, but you will have to have a lot of stamina and have a feel for what you are doing. I would try this by starting at MK on an am EMH day--you could easily hit all the mountains and be out of the park before 9am. Start with one adult going to get a FP at Space Mountain while the others head to Frontierland. Ride Splash, then BTMRR, head back to ride Space either do standby or use the Fast Pass. Next exit the park and head to EPCOT using the monorail. Get FP for Soarin (unless the standby line is 30 minutes or less then just get in line and ride) in the land Pavillion before heading to the TT and MS area. Ride whichever is shorter, grab a Fast pass for the other. If you still have the FP for soarin and can't get another yet, stand in line for whichever you didn't do yet. If you want to ride Maelstrom it shuld be open by now (11am) try that. Next head to AK (you'll need to use the bus for this), grab a fast pass for EE, Safari, Dinosaur or Kali. Check the standby times for Dinosaur, and Primeval Whirl (you can usually do one or the other while you wait for the FP to come due). This park is huge so be prepared to walk like a crazy person. ALways have at least one fast pass before standing on line for anything. You might want to grab a bite to eat between fast passes as well. Head over to MGM from AK (again you need the bus here). Once in MGM head over to TOT/RNR area and get a FP for one/do standby for the other. Once completed you might want to take in Star Tours. I doubt you'll have time to get the Lights, Motors, Action in, but it may be worth a try to check showtimes. You can usually get in standby as the theater is huge. So after checking showtimes it may be possible to see that and have a FP for Star Tours. By now you are going to be exhausted and hungry. If you wanted to cut a park out You might find getting to MGM from Epcot's International Gateway by boat a pretty good way to get where you want, but you definately will not have time to do all thrill rides AK has to offer since it closes earliest of all the parks. Another way to cut bus wait times down would be to take the resort buses if you could. What I am thinking here is that you could take the Boardwalk bus from AK to get you to MGM--just get off at BW and walk or boat to MGM. (If it were there and the MGM bus were not).
Honestly I'm not sure I would do this with a 9yo. Could it be done, yes. Is it a horrible way to experience these things, yes--you'll be on sensory overload and your enjoyment will not be optimum.

Yes, Kristin you have to try it too!! You're going before us so you can let us know how it works. You'll probably have better crowds in Sep than we will in Oct. "THESCHULTZFIVE(don't forget the C, everybody leaves out the C) Thrill Ride Challenge" will become a legend told for many decades to comee, hahaha. If you guys accomplish it though we might have to try to "plus it" and throw in crush n gusher or something. Ok gotta start designing shirts now

Hey you're adding alot more stuff than we were planning on doing. What are you trying to kill us? Just kidding, we weren't going to do stuff like LMA at MGM or even Soarin at EPCOT. I don't really consider Soarin a thrill ride, plus that's my mothers favorite ride and if she knew we rode it without her, she would kill us. You do know that we are not trying to see "the world" in 1 day right? We'll be there for 8 days doing all the other parks. DH, DD9 and I just wanted to try to do the "thrill rides" in 1 day for the fun of it.

ETA: I forgot to say thanks for the planning advice. I forgot about the International Gateway. Litte shortcuts like that might make this easier on us.

We did all 4 parks in one day on March 9th this year. We were tired by the end, but we didn't rush around either. Here's the trip report I did and you can see all the attractions we saw.

Ok if you can do it with a broken heel, then we should definitely be able to do it. That reminds me, make a note to wear the most comfortable shoes that day. You guys got to do EE twice, huh? How'd you do that? FP and standby?

We hit Animal Kingdom first thing when it opened and went straight to EE, it was a 5 minute or less wait then, and when I got off the time said 10 minute wait, so I just got right back in line!! I had to ride by myself because my husband HATES roller coasters...but it was so worth it!!!
