4 parks, 1 day Thrill Ride Challenge

We did all 4 parks in one day, with 2 kids 5/9. We did all the good rides and saw a couple parades too. Magic Kingdom was open til 11:00am that night.

We drove our car to AK for 9:00am stayed there til 11:30am, went to McDonalds by Blizzrd Beach then drove over to MGM stayed there til 5. drove over to Ticket/Transportation and took the Monarail to Epcot stayed there til 7:30, then took the Monarail to Magic Kingdom,

Everyone was exhausted but it was a blast, I would only recommend this if you had a chance to enjoy all parks first, otherwise you would be cheating yourself.

Well , I'm not, but our friends , their 2 boys and my son ...all teenagers, are hitting all the thrill rides in 1 day. We are all staying at the Beach Club. I think they are starting with whichever park has EE that day, I don't know the touring plan.

I can't wait to see how it goes. but if anyone can do it, they can.!

Best of luck to you! I can't wait to read the trip report....if you make it I might try it sometime just for the fun of it.

I can't speak too much to crowds in Oct.....I think it depends when in Oct. you go. We went about 3 years ago the week before Columbus day and it was more crowded than any day I've ever seen in July (our normal time is the 3'rd week in July). There was a 90 minute wait for Winnie the Pooh and you couldn't even get near the train!

We're goingin October BTW

You should be able to do all 4 parks in one day but realize that you will be exhausted the next day. Man, my hat is off to you! :worship: :worship: :worship:

johde-Awesome report, I can't belive that was Christmas time. Where was everyone?

ddavehfx- I think the timing with hours and trasport. will either make or break this challenge. Can't wait for Oct. hours to be released.

disgal1- why aren't you joing in with the group? please post and let me know how it goes with them.

jj13-our trip is Oct 17-25. That's the time we normally go and it's usually not too bad so we'll hope for the best. I haven't ever done a trip report before, but I definitely will this time.

DVC Sadie- Yeah we probably will be pretty exhausted the next day, but I'm hoping we can handle it. DH is a UPS driver so he's used to physical activity. DD9 is a dancer so she should be able to handle it. And me, well I run after the two little ones all day so anything looks like a break compared to that. maybe we'll pencil in a rest day just in case.

There were three of things that helped. First it was early December. Second it was lightly raining most of the morning and early afternonn. Third was the evening EMH at EPCOT. I didn't stay until closing but EPCOT closed at 12:30. Since I open the park at MK at 9:00 a.m. that gave me a potential 15 1/2 hours to use.

A friend and I did three in one day, hitting the highlights...we stayed at the Dolphin and started at MK, rode what we wanted there then headed on the mono to Epcot, ate and rode a few rides there and headed to MGM and rode a few rides there and then headed back to Epcot for Illuminations. We were exhausted but had a great time and saw a lot. However, we went in early March and it was FREEZING and the crowds were pretty low.

Now that the October hours are out, I was just doing a little more planning. I was thinking if we decided to do this, to do it on October 23rd. We would start with Animalk Kingdom with morning EMH and end with Studios with evening EMH. Then MK and Epcot would fall somewhere in the middle. Just thinking really, we're still not sure if we're going to do this.

Anyone ever hop to all 4 parks in one day. I was just thinking of trying to hit all the "thrill rides" in all 4 parks in one day so my mother could stay in the room with my 2 little ones while DH and I take DD9 with us to ride. Is this possible. Assuming we start early, maybe even start at whatever park has early EMH that day. Is this crazy? How about if we wanted to do all this and then go back to the room to get them, back to Disney Studios for dinner & Fantasmic? BTW, the rides we would be trying to hit would be : Everest, TOT, RnRC, BTMRR, SplM, SpcM, MS,and TT. TIA

Two is the most I can do...trying to do anymore I get stressed and tired

You can easily do it if you know what you are doing. When I was actively working on getting the first edition of my currently-on-hiatus guidebook, I pulled a long day hitting the signature attactions at all four parks in the middle of summer. It was exhausting yet fun :) I have done it several times since during the off-season with my wife and daughter.

It's helps to know the parks inside out and be able to "read" crowd patterns quickly.

I have also done this before. It is easy if you have your day planned out as to what you want to do in each park, which park your going to first, etc, and stick to a time schedule. This makes for an exhausting, but fun day. Enjoy!

Well, good, now it's making more sense (and sounding more relaxing that originally :)) MK should be next after Animal Kingdom, then Epcot so you can - as you already determined - take advantage of the International Gateway. If you choose to have one person go for FastPasses while the other two head toward the next attraction in a given park, make sure that person has all three park passes... and please don't actually get into line until that person joins you at whichever attraction (see thread on line-cutting :teeth: ) Remember to allow time to get from the IG to MGM, then to the Fantasmic! theater and still be able to find seating. If it's at, say, 7:30, you'd want to be on your way over there by 6 PM. Then, of course, you can ride ToT and RnRC after the show - remember to get your wristbands when you enter the park, or note the nearest location to those two rides.

the reason I'm not joining in is 1...I'm 51, and can't keep up , they'd drop me pretty fast :moped: 2..it will be june 23, way too hot for me to go at that pace!

We are staying at BC, so they will walk over to MGM by 730 for early entry mgm. tot and rr..run over to epcot for tt and soarin, drive to ak for EE , dinosaur and primeval whirl, then drive back to BC, quick lunch cool down, walk thru epcot grab monorail to MK last for all the mountains. MK is open I think till 11or 12.
They plan on doing single rider if the wait is long , and of course fast pass what they can.

The boys can't wait!, and I can't wait to hear how it all went! I'll post the results.

If you try this, I can't wait to read your trip report. Please let us know what happens. This could be hysterically entertaining. On your mark, get set, ....

Given your date and schedule I would shoot for the following schedule. This assumes you are using WDW transportation for the entire day.

Start at AK at opening (9:00 - 11:00)

1. Ride EE Immediately (get Fast Pass for later)
2. Go across the bridge to Dinoland and ride PW
3. Ride Dinosaur
4. Hopefully your fastpass time will be up for extra ride on EE.

Take the bus to MK (12:00 - 2:30) (will probably be around lunch time at your arrival)
4. Go to Frontier land Fast pass or Splash mountain depending on line
5. Ride BTMR and Splash Mountain
6. Head across to Tomorrow Land and Ride Space Mountain
Hopefully you can leave MK before the 3:00 parade.

Take Monorail to Epcot (3:00 - 6:00)

7. Fast pass Soarin
8. Ride Test Track (Single Rider Line)
9. Ride MS (Single Rider Line)
10 Return to Soarin

Take the Boat (or Walk) to MGM (7:00 - 10:30)
Fast pass whichever of TOT or RNR has the longer wait
11 Ride TOT
12 Ride RNR
13 Ride Star Tours (if desired)

The key I found was to have a plan but be flexible. As you enter each park look at the time tables and adjust accordingly. For Example if you get behind you want to avoid Frontierland during the parade but Tomorrowland would be a good choice. The only ride on my list that might be a problem is Soarin' Depending on fast pass return times you might need to skip it. But, it not on your list to begin with. The most important thing is to HAVE FUN. My schedule minimizes the amount of time you will spend on a bus which is always nice. I'm hoping to go back in September and break my current ride count with the addition of EE to the mix.

Aaron from the Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Pod (podcast) did this not too long ago... It's worth listening to if you are going to give it a shot... it's an .mp3 so you can listen to it on your computer or upload it to your mp3 player...

back in april 2001, i was 8 months pregnant... DH and i had a 3 hour drive to WDW, where we proceeded to hit all 4 parks in one day, and then drive 3 hours home. really, i don't know what i was thinking.

i can't give you our exact itinerary. DH rode most of the thrill rides (i obviously couldn't...i think i took bathroom breaks while he rode those!), but we did a lot together also.

we had our own car so we drove park to park. we also tried to ask the parking attendants for closer parking since i was so hugely pregnant. forget the fact i ran around all the parks.

i think if DH and i took a kid-less trip back to WDW, we'd definitely be able to handle 4 parks in one day. you can do it!!!

I've done it with my sister, but it might be harder with the little one...kids can start to get cranky. It also depends what time of year you're planning on doing this. We did this at a non-peak time of year, I think it would be impossible to do during an extremely busy time of year, but none the less, I think it's worth the try. Wear good walking shoes and bring your patience! And I hope you have a comfy bed to collapse in afterwards!

I think you can do it easily. I would start at MK on a EMH day and you can be at Epcot when it opens. You could fly through it. You are giving me ideas. Good luck and I hope that you report your results. Thanks
Scott
