I'm taking the family to universal Nov. 22nd and we need only one night stay. I have 4 kids (2 adults) and thought by staying at HRH or at Loews that I may actually save money by not having to buy the express ticket. Problem, I have 4 kids (12,11,10 and 6) and don't really want/cant afford 2 rooms. We usually get a hotel room with 2 queen size beds and have 3 in each (my kids are small- less than 70 pounds). Can I:
a) book one room and just pay extra for the other kid and still get the express, or should I
b) "sneak" in a kid and forgo the pass for her, since she won't be riding the rollercoasters anyway (being a small 6 year old)
c) buy one express ticket for her
d) be forced to book 2 rooms (on-line doesnt even have the option for 4 kids).

Thanks in advance for answering.

I'm sorry to tell you this, but you need two rooms. Max people in room are 5 for a 2 queen room and 3 people to a king room. That is not the hotel rules but fire code rules.:thumbsup2

The room capacity for a standard room at the Hard Rock is 5 and I would bet the other two resorts are the same. You would have to look into a suite and not even sure that would hold 6 people. If you are a member of AAA they offer discounts that may help, otherwise check out some of their partner hotels that would be cheaper and then when you get to the parks decide if you need to purchase express passes for everyone (only get one ride for each ride). If you can swing it, the on-sites are well worth it

i stay in the suites.

3 is the max allowed in them at rph and hrh.

We also have 4 kids with us when we go ,we get 2 rooms but my kids are teenagers and ride all the rides but off-site we always sneak the other one in.If it was me and I had only one that didnt ride I would sneak them in.The others will love the front of the line key.

Remember that if you are doing early access, everyone needs a room key to get in.

a) not allowed
b) I'm sure experiences vary, but the coasters weren't usually the longest lines when we were there - MIB (kind of like Buzz), couple rides in Suess Landing and Spiderman were. It also seems really mean to make the 6 year old wait in lines for all her rides while the older sibling can just breeze on through. Also, what if you want to do things like Shrek 4D or the Disaster show or other non-height attraction together, you can't. They checked EVERYONE's pass at EVERY attraction that we went on.
c) again this seems grossly unfair as the express pass is only good for one time on a ride, while the FOTL from on-site is unlimited
d) as a family of 5 who has to pay a lot extra at Disney because of having one extra child, I completely understand your pain, but I would go with this option
