4 gigs of pics, 3 blisters, 2 pairs of new shoes, 1 bleeding toe = our great trip!

Just got back from Disney and got caught up on your report! My kids got the pin trading bug too on this trip so I understand your anger with that woman! My kids didn't understand the difference in value of certain pins, but I did! Finally, I had to set limits but only after they gave away some really expensive pins. My mother was with us and would buy them pins and then they would trade them away. I tried to stop them but she would just say "I don't care, as long as they're happy". However, I saw adults taking the pin trading a little too seriously while we were there. One time, my kids waited patiently to trade with a CM who had a whole board of them in the Grand Floridian. This adult couple was taking FOREVER to pick out a pin - you'd think they were pickng out wedding rings. I kept rolling my eyes at my dh. Finally, I said "c'mon kids, let's do this later". The adults got the hint and moved along. Great TR!

Very cool Germany pictures. :thumbsup2 Not a fan of Mexico though nor their food. Something about the beans doesn't quite agree with my stomach. :lmao:

It is unfortunately what happened to your daughter on the pin trading with that woman. Yet, that woman is a teacher?! I can't even imagine what subject does she teach, scam artist?? I was never a fan about pin trading. I own a handful and that's it since we don't even know which are consider valuable. We never trade but we do buy a couple randomly on every trip just to collect. Some one I know actually have over 2,000 pins. That's a lot of pins.

Since the girls were paying for their own pins, they were buying the least expensive ones. They have a few that they won't trade that have special meaning to them. DH is the one who suggested this new "hobby". They had so much fun with it, with the CM's. It's like a little conversation piece around their neck.

I can totally understand what you mean about adults being into it too much.....'they were picking out wedding rings' that made me :lmao:. Too funny!

Thanks TD! I've actually uploaded (or am currently uploading) another 24 for the report. Will probably have to do it in 2 segments. Trying to get back on track. I have an EXTREMELY busy work week next week so it will be very hard to get to.

I have 2 pins that a girlfriend in Europe has sent to me. They are villain pins and on my $6M Crumpler bag. I think they look great. Need to get the stronger backs so they don't come off. Gabriella actually bought me a Tinkerbell pin with her own money  (she surprised me in MouseGears after she bought it) and I have 1 other Tinkerbell pin from a friend in New Jersey (isn't that in your neck of the woods?) that are on my strap. I'll hang on to those just for sentimental reasons.

Only a few more days till my photobucket pictures come back on line. I was reading my TR to my DH the other day, just wasn't the same without all of the illustration.

Morning! I was up late last night trying to power edit through some pictures. Here we goooooooooooo!

Last I left off it had started raining again. And it rained, and rained, and rained - HARD! Not some irritating sprinkle, full on showers. The girls had saved Germany and we were off towards the International Gateway to find out our 3rd country to save on another KPM.

We stopped outside Japan because the candy lady was putting on a show. The area around her was packed - I sat on a windowsill and the girls climbed up on some stairs so they could see:

My feet were aching, so was my back. I was wearing a backpack on my back that had typical odds & ends for the day. I was wearing my camera bag (which isn't light folks) around my neck hanging down in the front. I think I looked like a giant egg :rotfl:. It was all "hidden" under my poncho.

Got up and trudged past all of the other countries. Was quite sad because I couldn't photograph any of it. Was really looking forward to getting creative around on the UK/Canada side of things.

Made it to the I.G. and got our new country....NORWAY. The absolute first country we started our day at. Started walking. By now Angelina is HUNGRY! Not hungry, STARVING! Plus, her toe was throbbing. Stopped in at a shop to buy her some Advil, Ibuprofin, whatever they had to help ease her pain. Was looking for bandaides when the CM working there suggested we go to the medical building and have them patch it up. I thought maybe that they could cut a finger off of some rubber gloves and wrap it over the toe in an attempt to keep it dry.

Off to the medical building where a very nice CM took off (slid off) the bandage that she had on her toe - gave me some better butterfly type bandaids. Put some new ones on her toe and we were finished.

Got to Norway. Angelina was hungry so I decided to grab us a snack while Gabriella did the KPM on her own. Got a yummy cinnamon bun with caramel frosting:

Gabriella was dashing all around, checking in after she did something (raised a flag, started a chimney smoking, etc.) to tell us all about it. Angelina perked up and wanted me to take her picture:

620105615_bBcmv-L.jpg

Then wanted to take one of me:

620106318_derfj-L.jpg

Previously we had gotten FP's for TT. The rain had actually come to a stop while we were taking cover in Norway. There was a sliver of orange at the horizon, which was leading me to believe we may have come to the end of our wetness!!!!!

Went to TT and rode it again - Angeling screaming "THIS IS AWESOME" the whole way. On our way out the girls wanted to look at the cars in the 'showroom'. Angelina hopped in this one:

620107655_QXuZM-L.jpg

What you can't see (purposefully) in that she has her mister fan on and hidden blowing her hair like she is driving the car and catching the breeze in her hair :lmao:.

Rains were indeed finished so took a few pictures while walking BACK towards the WS so we could eat dinner in China.

My lone monorail picture. I had so many high hopes with photos of the monorail this trip. At least I got one.

With the track in the background:

Put the camera back in the bag and started hiking towards China. We ate at the Lotus Blossom Cafe. Earlier in the day we had Mexican, which is Gabriella's favorite. For dinner we settled on Chinese - Angelina's favorite. I saved an adult credit on the DDP so that Angelina could get a full sized meal.

Gabriella had the beef noodle soup bowl which was HUGE, and a side of egg rolls that I paid OOP for.

620119208_BrmKk-L.jpg

Angelina and I each got the orange chicken with steamed rice (which was VERY yummy):

620118084_PjxFT-L.jpg

For dessert we all three got the carmal ginger ice cream:

620119840_sFWf9-L.jpg

Neither one of the girls liked the ice cream, we were able to switch them out for strawberry for them. I liked the flavor of it the texture was strange though. There were chunks of ginger in it, which I wasn't expecting. It was tasty nonetheless.

Once we were all fat, dumb & happy we decided to steak out a spot for Illuminations. We were so early that I was able to spread out our ponchos (making them work double duty) right up against the fence between China and Norway. The spot was absolutely perfect. The girls played out front of China at one of the kiosks where they have different toys for sale, and put out toys for the kids to play with to decide if they want to buy them. They played and played and played. Angelina ended up spending $15 for three sticks. It was the sticks that you hold two and bounce the 3rd one between them throwing it up into the air and catching it, etc. She did a pretty good job with them.

Ended up having a beautiful sunset after the storm. Daytime turned to dusk. I called the girls to come to our little area because the crowd was building behind us. The torches were lit around the waters where Illuminations was going to go off. Suspense was building........

Torches go off - music started - I grabbed the camera and started snapping. We weren't in the path of the smoke, but there was a lot of it. Since I didn't have my tripod with me I gave it a pretty pathetic shot at handheld photos:

620121216_atDBJ-L.jpg

You can REALLY see the smoke in this one:

620122064_o49rY-L.jpg

The show ended and we decided to camp out for a bit and let the crowds to their mass exodous. The girls went back to the kiosk in China and started playing with the toys again and I gave nighttime shots another try:

Crowds were much lighter so we decided to take a leisurely walk towards FW working our way out. Tonight was EMH's so we were going to give TT another shot - maybe even Sorin.

Took one real quick picture in Mexico:

620140955_Wjwfg-L.jpg

Wove our way around to TT - the wait was 120 minutes ! I don't think so - not since we've already ridden it 2x's today. Went to the center of FW and looked at the wait times. Of course TT and Soarin' had the longest waits pretty much both tied at 120 minutes. Kicked around the idea of going back to the Illuminations pavillion and decided on going to:

Up next - my last attempt at 50mm photos in SE and we say good bye to EP, taking pictures the whole way out.

Love the photos as usual! You really should be a Disney photographer, esp. when it comes to food! Now, I'm craving Chinese food for dinner!! I can't wait until the kids are older and we can experience WS more!

Awwww, you're too sweet. Food is easy to photograph because it doesn't move or blink :lmao:.

This is the first time since my Disneymoon (way back in 97) that I was able to really get to go through the WS. Any other time we were there DDs were too tiny to care about spending any amount of time there.

1) On the Norway snack....yummy! Going to have to remember that is there.

2) Funny story about the weird ice cream.....this weekend, my sister ordered some Hatch Pineapple gelatto. She had no idea what Hatch meant, and just figured she was getting pineapple gelato. Well, the grocery store was helping celebrate the Hatch Chile Pepper festival....so, the entire store had tons of food made with Hatch Peppers in it.....So, her pinapple gelato had Hatch chile peppers. I tried a bite...and wow! that is NOT what ice cream/gelato should taste like.

Oh gosh, the TT showroom. I can never get B/F out of there fast enough! He just drooled over that red car and the blue car that was on display, but no one could touch.

Great job with the nighttime shots at WS....esp without a tripod!

I can't believe you carried all that stuff around. My DD has totally outgrown a stroller but I'm still bringing the thing just to keep all the heavy stuff in!!!

Amazing pictures as usual...I like the variety between the close-ups of objects I'd never think of focusing on and the "scenery" shots, both with the girls and without :thumbsup2

Unreal about that woman and the pin-trading :confused3 If my girls ever get into pin-trading it sounds like the only trading with CMs rule is a good one.

I was able to go back and see the HS pics, wonderful again - especially the night time ones :)

That ice cream sounds delish albeit strange. You are so used to ice cream being all sweet and smooth (minus the cookie dough chunks :rotfl:) what a shock your sister must've had. Did she eat it all?

Your night pics look great! That wsa pretty funny about the mister fan in the car!:lmao:

Angelina has a personality like no one I've ever met. She's pretty funny.

The funniest thing about the showroom is that my DFIL works for GM - these are cars that we hear about and see all the time. Nothing exotic to us. I think part of it was that they could get in the drivers seat. They kept trading out who was going to 'drive'.

Great job with the nighttime shots at WS....esp without a tripod!

I was in heaven the night that we got Angelina the stroller @ MK (when she busted open her toe). It was so heavy if she got out of it, it would fall over. If they weren't so expensive to rent, I would have rented one every day to carry all my goods.

Amazing pictures as usual...I like the variety between the close-ups of objects I'd never think of focusing on and the "scenery" shots, both with the girls and without :thumbsup2

Thank you. Did you know that Kodak estimates that 4% of all amature pictuers are taken at WDW? I think this year I bumped it up to 5%. I was really having fun with my new camera there.

If your kids get into pin-trading just for fun, definitely stay with the CMs. There are people who get into it for the collection part of it and I would imagine those people can be pretty hawkish.

Glad you got to go back and see the HS photos. Nighttime photography is my favorite kind of photography. :goodvibes

I have the next set of photos selected for editing on my other computer. I'm hoping against all hopes that tomorrow I can get to some of them. There are a BUNCH of pictures - I went shutter crazy knowing this was our last night in EP on this trip.

I got to try a bite and POW! I think she may have taken one or two more bites....but the rest went trashward.

WOW, I just found your TR today and have spent all day coming back to read more. I am in awe at how BEAUTIFUL your pictures are....as well as you and your daughters. The good thing about coming to a report late is you don't have to wait for updates. Was sad to see that I have to wait for more pics now. Great job so far though.:thumbsup2

You have some FANTASTIC photos & I love your report!

WOW! That's a whole lotta sitting. Welcome aboard. I still have plenty to put up. I have a video conference today and then am hoping to have a few minutes to edit some more pictures!!!! Stay tuned. :flower3:

Thank you :goodvibes! I've had a blast writing it. When we went to WDW, I knew exactly what type of report I was going to do. It's been fun going back and reading....the memory fades after time. I really need to copy/paste this, so I can have documentation for years down the road, to give to DDs.

I am sooo glad the earlier pics are back up. I was dying to see the ones from Fantasmic. They came out great. I can't wait to see that show.

Glad you were able to see them ! Fantasmic is my #2 favorite, after Wishes. It's a very cool few minutes to spend sitting down!

Picking up where we left off. The wait for TT as well as Soarin' was 2 hours, even though it was pm EMH's :faint:. Decided to do one last ride on SE. The girls really like the interactive parts of it. I switched to the 50mm and tried to get some good dark ride photos:

Finally off the ride, we kicked around what to do next. It was starting to get late....I know you are all shocked because we go to bed at such an early hour :lmao:. We (I) finally decided it was time to pack it in. We had early reservations for Tusker House in the morning. So, backing out I took a few more pictures of SE - this was our last trip to EP on this visit:

Keeping with tradition - we drove to EP today. We've been there for 15+ hours and guess what, we all 3 forgot our parking row. We started wandering and wandering all around. I've got my clicker out just leaning on that button hopping to see my parking lights flash to know where the van is. Angelina is tired and just wanting to sit down in the middle of a row and wait for me to find the van and come get her. Gabriella is dragging as well. FINALLY there was a flash of yellow lights, and the angels sang :lmao:.

Climb into the van and motor back to Pop. Got the girls upstairs and in their pj's and into bed. I started packing suitcases. After we leave for AK in the morning, we won't return to the room :(. Tomorrow is it. Made one gigantic trip carrying stuff to the van, leaving the rest for when we leave in the morning.

So very tired I crawled into bed falling asleep, for the last time, to the Stacy channel.
