4 gigs of pics, 3 blisters, 2 pairs of new shoes, 1 bleeding toe = our great trip!

Before we head to the land of the vikings, I wanted to include a few more pictures. For some reason, these didn't load when I was telling them to .

Here are my two favorite photos - I had both of these blown up to a HUGEMUNGEOUS size and matted/framed over my couch:

If you look closely in this one you can see the girls coming out of a door in the background. They're doing their mission while I've got the camera going!

Another time we came 'round and there was Princess Mulan. We'd never met her before, so this was pretty cool - kind of like a bonus meet.

And the last one in front of a big rock (???) wall there on the edge of the China area:

Another great update and of course more beautiful pics.

My girls can't wait to do the Kim Possible missions when we go in Oct. I have read so many fantastic reviews about doing it. I am starting to look forward to doing it myself.

They will have such a good time. I think part of the reason that my DDs liked it so much was because it was a go-at-your-own-pace type thing. There was no line to stand in, no time limit on finishing up, they were just free to be kids at WDW for a change instead of being drug to the next attraction - if that makes any sense at all?

I liked it also because I was free to look at things at my own pace. Since the whole mission takes place in the same country, you aren't running throughout all of the WS, just right in that segregated area. When they did Germany, I sat on a bench by the lagoon (facing Germany) and just watched their pink ponchos (because OF COURSE it was raining) zig-zag all through the country while my feet got a break ;).

The rains came as we saved the country of China from sure distruction :rotfl:. Dashed over to Norway and rode:

What you see standing in line....it's not Sig and crew from 'Deadliest Catch' but close:

I had forgotten how fun this little ride is. Of course, since it was a dark ride and a new ride (to DDs) Gabriella rode with her fingers in her ears and Angelina had a death grip on the bar in front of the seat. This was the only good picture I could get inside the ride:

When the ride ends you are in what looks like part of a little village:

Then you can go and sit and watch a movie about Norway's heritage. Of course, since it "wasn't a ride" we had to skip that part and were dumped into the store:

Who doesn't have photos like these:

Once again, the rains had stopped (scattered showers :confused3) so we decided to walk towards TT to see if the cars were up and running again. We could hear them whirring overhead and decided to use our FP's. The standby was about 120 minutes. Walked and wove around basically right up to the cueing doors. Gabriella has her fingers in her ears and Angelina is getting sort of nervous looking all around and starting to get jittery.

We get into the preshow room and both girls start to cry. Of course you get a wide range of responses from people when you have a 10 & 8 y.o. standing in line crying. The smaller children look at them wondering, "WHAT are you crying about' and the parents look sympathetically at me. I just  because I just KNOW if I can get them on it that they will love it. I explained how the ride worked (or at least how I imagined it worked, I'd never ridden it before either :cool1:) over and over and over and over to them.

Finally our car pulls up - we are in the front seat. I'm in the middle so I can protect both girls with my brutte strength :lmao: and off we go. They kind of freaked out a bit through the ABS part because of the jerking of the car. THEN, when the car is about to accelorate through the wall and you rocket out I thought they were going to wet themselves. Once we were through and all appeared safe both girls are screaming and yelling. Angelina devleoped a new phrase 'THIS IS AWESOME' on this ride....at the top of her lungs hands up over her head....the whole nine yards.

Pull in for the next round of dummies to climb into the car and I have both girls doing a little dance that they want to ride again. It is so exasperating to have them cry and freak out KNOWING that they will just LOVE the ride. Nevertheless - we quickly spead out of the display area straight to the FP machines and got another one for later.

Decided to head BACK to the WS because G was getting the itch to do another KP mission. Back to Norway, scanned our KTTK and were assigned Germany as the country. Had a bit of time before we were able to begin our mission so decided to backtrack a bit.......

.....up next we visit the country where they say 'Ole!

Glad they loved the ride!

Despite the fact that I travel 60 and over everyday on my commute, there's something about getting on the Test Track ride that is so cool.

I had read good reviews on the restaurant and can say without a doubt that we were not let down in any way. It was all YUMMY!

As for the pictures, I took them with the Dis in mind ;). I know how so many like looking at pictures of the food. Sometimes the descriptions on the menu's are hard to figure a vision for - this way people can actually see what it looks like.

I thought Ariel was always there . I'll have to let DDs know that they were double honored to have both Cindy and Ariel there!!! Who did you have in place for those two?

I agree the Grotto line can get very out of control. We've done it a few times, but got there right when they opened it so we could avoid all that. No shade and no where to sit makes for a grumpy mommy -- while DDs are running around playing in the water keeping cool.

We had Mulan and Jasmine in place of them...both times we went!! It was nice to see them, but I'd like to see Ariel!

Isn't it great when they can trust you enough to get on the rides and then they end up liking it??!! It makes it so much easier when everyone in your group can ride all the big kid rides!!!

You're not kidding. That was one of the most difficult parts of this trip (without DH) it was all or none. Since both girls are so young, I couldn't leave one behind if the other wanted to ride a ride. It was kind of like, suck it up and get on :rotfl:.

That said, TT, PW, and Dinosaur were the three BIGGIES that we did this trip that had never been done before. That always leaves something to do the next trip, since they're still not yet riding everything.

Gorgeous WS pics! Made me feel like I was walking around Epcot. :goodvibes The KP missions sound really fun too.

The girls had a blast. We did 3 total missions that day - the only reason we quit was because of the rain. It was getting old getting soaked all day.

I really want to do the Kim Possible thing next time! We never got around to it this trip!

We need to explore China more!

Did you find the hidden Mickey on the Maelstrom mural that you took pics of?!

This is a great picture. Reason?? You see that little Chinese character...It's my father's name. It meant "Wisdom".

Maybe this is a Disney thing. According to Chinese history, Mulan was never a princess or relate to any royal family. She's just a simple village girl who determine to be a soldier to save her father. It's a true story BTW.

That is our favorite Mulan! I love the China Pavillion and those pictures are beautiful!! I think we will try a KP mission next time we go back...Colby will be going on 7 then and I'll bet that he will like it. We have never seen Kp though so I may have to find him some episodes.

Agree about Mulan.

Of the "Disney-recognized" princesses, Mulan is the only to not be born a princess nor marry a prince.

I hadn't looked for the hidden Mickey - I'll have to do that in a bit. China is a beautiful country to explore! It's so calm and colorful. :goodvibes

How interesting that I captured your father's name. I remember you talking in your TR, about the writing on the walls in Chinese restaurants being foods not listed on the menu's. Since I can't read Chinese, it's just a pretty symbol to me :)

I don't think it's a Disney thing, I must confess I've not yet seen Mulan .

This is great fun for a 7 y.o. Also, don't know if you read I think I've written before, this is not a gender specific game. There are plenty of boy characters in the cartoon that Colby won't feel like it's a 'girl thing' he's doing.

Agree about Mulan.

I confessed to Peter and will confess to you -- I haven't seen Mulan yet. I don't know why, just never have. I've always wanted to....maybe one rainy weekend .

He asked to do it this past June when we went but I didn't feel that he was old enough to really get it...next June he will be much older and I think he would really enjoy the game. He is a very adventurous (spelling) kid.

Just catching up , we were out of town visiting family for a week :) Still disappointed I can't see the pictures in the update before Akershus, hopefully they will show back up sometime ?:confused3

Beautiful food pictures from Akershus ! Wow! did those sky's look black ! The pictures of the girls in there poncho's are adorable :)

KP sounds like a lot of fun for the girls ! Beautiful China pictures and close-up's of the flowers and foliage . :thumbsup2 Great meet and greet with Mulan it's always nice to meet with a character you never have before :)

Great Norway pictures :) Isn't Maelstrom so fun ? We love it !
Glad the girls turned out to like TT after the little breakdown at the beginning :)

Can't wait for the next update and those beautiful pictures !popcorn::

I fell waaay behind while we were out of town for a week...

Great pics as always :thumbsup2 We didn't end up having time to do the KP mission but I'm not sure that Jean would have really understood it...by the time we go back again she will be a better age for it I think.

A note when the "pre-Akershus" pics will be up again would be good, I missed a lot of the Hollywood Studios ones and I'd love to see them :goodvibes
