I finally got all of my pics downloaded to my PC. I ended up bringing with me 3 1 gig cards and the laptop. I ended up taking 4 1 gig cards worth of pics, just under 1500. There are a lot I don't like. I photographed Wished twice. The first time I ended up in a bad spot and by the time I realized how bad it actually was it was to late. I ended up taking pics anyways and didn't like any of them. So I went back the next night and got some better one's.

Epcot is a great park to photograph. Between the colors and the Architecture it was just way cool. MK is also great. MGM, I never really noticed the colors especially in Tower of Terror area. Animal Kingdom is one of the best AND worst places to take pictures. There are so many wonderful things to photograph, yet the shadows wreak havoc. You really have to pay attention to your composition.

I used spot metering alot especially in Animal Kingdom. I had my tripod with me and used it both at night and during the day.

I realized that as much as I love my lenses it really does pay to have a single lens like the Nikkor 18-200. If I knew I was going to spend more time traveling I would definately get that lens. Instead I think I'm going to save for the Nikon 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6D ED VR lens or at least the Sigma 80-400mm APO F4.5-5.6 EX OS AF lens. My Quantaray 70-300mm gave me to many problems especially at the 300mm length. VR, IS or OS is definately needed for the Safari and for those up close and personal macro type pics. (plus as the kids get older and get into sports and other activities it will come in handy)

I used manual almost exclusively for the night shots and bracketed a lot of day shots that had lots of shadows. I used aperture priority quite a bit as well.

I learned alot about my camera and how I use my camera and am very excited to continue using it for more than just your everyday family type pictures. I think I'm going to go photo hunting a little more often. I am very happy with the way my D50 performed, though I could have used it even better in some situations.

I've started uploading pics to photobucket. I have some of the best pics from Day 1 at Epcot ready here .

I also posted a trip report over on that forum. Kyle's Trip Report

I hope to have the best pics from the 3 other days done by the end of the week depending on work and how DW is feeling. Then I'll put together a full album over the coming weeks.

Enjoy.
I'll post as more pics are downloaded.

Nice! :thumbsup2 looking at them I realized we hardly ever go to ws in the daytime( we usually go in winter so that might have something to do with it) and i almost didn't recognize Morroco which i love to wander through. have to make it a point to get there earlier next trip

Great photos Kyle! I can't wait to see the rest of them. Makes me miss World Showcase all over again...
